Xue Yang doesn't even pretend to be sneaking around. He simply follow after her, sword in hand but not at all concerned with if he was heard. He knows how to be quiet so he doesn't speak or make any unnecessary noise but he has already figured out that it is probably pointless. It's way too quiet for anyone to be even close to here.

He waits until she pushes the door open before peeking inside, "Guess we didn't have to be quiet. But whatever it was that scared them out of here must have shown up pretty unexpectedly."
