They seem a little surprised, but not so much so. It does seem that word got around and they allowed the two of them to enter.
"You will be seen. Follow."
The Sali didn't seem to have any doubt they would obey as they moved through the compound, expecting the two to keep up. Many of the Sali had paused in their work to watch but now returned to it.
"My thanks," Elidibus answers. Simple words of appreciation after which, on being invited to enter the enclosure, he looks to Kiyoiri and nods to indicate they should proceed.
So far nothing seems amiss; he too has been watching for signs and yet all is in order with what they have so far learned of the Sali. The Ascian does not linger and keeps pace with the one leading them. But he is no less attentive to his surroundings.
Does the village seem relatively secure? In disarray with the recent storms pressing near? Or is it all normal? The latter might be something to be wary of, though with the markers surrounding the village, there may be a reason why this place might seem untouched by events. At least so far.
After all there is that void that has been calling for the two-- well, three.
That one fear earns Jingyi another glance from Elidibus. More accurately, not that he knows it is a fear. But it is noted that the dragon had asked specifically about possession and it is probably going to be Brought Up at another time. The Ascian seems mildly curious about the detail but it fades and his attention returns to the Sali group leaders.
"There is likely a great deal of information to exchange. If you have questions for us or words to convey to our people please let us know. We should soon return and let them know what we have found." After a moment's pause for thought, the Ascian adds, "Until you have spoken with your people, is there any place it is best not to trespass?"
Well, at least warning can be sent, even if it's received too late.
Cassie isn't taking any chances, though. She takes off from the ground, hovering as steadily as she can manage and as high as she can manage (not very, in either case) looking to get a good angle if anything pops out she has to shoot.
Kiyoiri allows herself some calm- at the very least, so far so good. So she nods, still seated upon the dinosaur as he trots slowly forward. Keeping up really isn't hard, and in the meantime Kiyoiri makes sure to observe anything and everything she possibly can.
"That." Lan Wangji mutters, watching the delicate strand twisting around itself and stepping back to let it settle, "Is far more convenient." He bows in the direction of the statue, then places his hand on the vine. "I will continue, if I see another such plant should I attempt to do this again?"
The statue-being was only marginally easier to connect with that the rest of the planet, but it was a margin Leia would gladly take under the circumstances. If there was one thing that both the Rebellion and Resistance had taught her, it was how to work with limited resources, and limited supernatural resources were no different. She could handle this.
Though the impressions she got offered little detail, they came through clearly. So this being's home was to the east, and... ah, yes. "Thank you for the warning, but we already know about the danger," she said. "In fact, that's why we're here. We came to this world to help its people repair the damage that's been done and hopefully get rid of the cause of it." She sent the best impression she could of them arriving from out of the sky from somewhere far distant, coupled with a sense of determination to help and protect.
"And too much selflessness can be as dire as greed. Sometimes, you must be the one to tell a people what they need when they won't think for themselves."
She tips her head to a side. "We will discuss what additional goods can be given at a later point, once a worth can be calculated. For now," Asha continues, "Any of your people with difficulties - bring the worst of them straight here. I am helping Enshala - a healer and sage. We can offer no quick solutions, but we are investigating the effects of this Red Storm, and what it brings. If something in the air affects your people too, we will try and read their patterns. However, the fact you people can exist without our protections shows that you have an ability better to fight off the intrusion to the mind than we do."
Asha glances to her mortar, a long finger tapping its edge. "We may have some medicines that help with some of the side effects with us, but it will be experimental. Tell us-" she looks back to them both. "What symptoms do your people suffer?"
[Masumi, meanwhile, heads as close to the red mist as she feels comfortable getting, drawing her sword just in case something comes out. She's honestly not sure what to expect after that noise earlier, but she sure isn't taking Danny's word for it that things are fine in there.]
There's a small chittering before something frops to Danny's head, ruffling his hair with a rumbling laugh. It peers down at him and with the ectoplasm he would see the blue tint of fur.
There's a skittering near where Masumi and Cassie are also, Cassie will feel something brush against her foot and something dives at Masumi, to grab anything that is loose.
For a just a moment, Elidibus closes his eyes and listens. Is this the source of the plea for aid? Or have they been led somewhere else for the time being?
But he's not unwilling to see what this meeting will reveal for better or worse. Opening his eyes again, he inclines his head politely to the sali who led them before seeking to precede Kiyoiri and Takechirou in the direction that was indicated.
Kiyoiri nods, agreeing. Worst comes to it, they will find a way out at least, but for now they need to see how it is that everyone can seem so...alright, while something is calling for help.
Takechirou and Kiyoiri move, following after Elidibus.
Awkwardly, Emporio takes the drink- he hadn't asked of course, but after Elidibus asked for him, he wasn't going to refuse it. And he listens carefully. This world rejects everything..? Everyone..?
He sips quietly, calmed somewhat by the scent. "...So then...even people born here had to create a connection...so then...the problem is we can't accept the world's energies normally..?"
It causes notable surprise to learn the Sali have had to adapt and draw the energy into themselves to be accepted. Not the act, but that the world itself considers them as much outsiders as anyone...
"Forgive me, I don't mean offense by this. But is your race not originally native to this world?" Sure they may be born here and have lived generations now but... If they were native, why would the world reject pieces of itself? That would be a very troubling condition.
Wangji's sentiment of respect seems reflected in the Ascian. The sali have adapted and overcome a considerable obstacle to their very existence. As to whom to address when speaking, the words are meant for everyone to hear and brief glances indicate this, though his focus remains on Omerka's still form for the most part. After all, that is whom is speaking to him.
"...My true form is not one which is corporeal. Perhaps you would call it a type of energy; I see such as aether, at their fundamental level. Even with the protections shrouding me, I feel the draw of this world intensely and it seeks to... hm." Elidibus pauses for thought. "Not just absorb me, exactly. But to change and become similar to it?" Because of the foreign 'language' of this aether, he can't say for sure.
"...It is difficult to explain. Mayhap it tries to draw me into its cycle and empower itself after all. My hope is to learn as much as I can teach in hopes of better understanding this world."
He seems confident there are many things he can teach and learn. Elidibus has no ill will toward the world; far from it. But for many reasons, not least his own safety and survival, it must be confronted and knowledge seems the best course.
Wei Wuxian described the symptoms he'd seen or heard of from the Voidtreckers thus far, in their first two days or so. He notes when he knows more, or has only a very general understanding of the effect, while indicating energy-based individuals have the hardest time. He wryly notes this is perhaps not a surprise, before glancing to Yondu, for anything more he's seen or heard that Wei Wuxian has not.
Yondu mostly nods along, verifying what Wuxian said. Adds in specifics like, "Raven can't use her abilities to fly."
But then he gets up and goes to get a wayward sprig of blue grass, and brings it back to demonstrate his own. They're not great on a good day, but he at least had some idea of what he was doing now on the train with all the practice. In front of the Sali, he just makes it grow uncomfortable lumps and little unruly bits to curl off of it.
"It's about like that. Just real wrong. I was just tryin' to make it grow longer."
