Jema'grethy: Memory Cave
Passengers see a vision, an instance of someone's life, before just as suddenly - they find themselves inside a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely, and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.
They're not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker; maybe someone they know well, or maybe someone they've only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave, and they will come to find out that it was one of their memories that the other witnessed. And them, one of yours.
The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.
But for that time to come, they first must talk...

"Yeah. Who was I saying goodbye to? Leia? Nita? Cause that is hilarious, in hindsight, given Nita got here before me and Leia is still here. For some reason refuses to Bend me enough fish to sustain a poor starving kitty cat like myself, but still. Oh! Baymax? Was it Baymax?" Baymax wasn't here, he could fudge whatever truth he wanted about those conversations on dietary requirements. Though even he knew there was only so far something could be stretched before it broke...

"Short dark hair? Smile almost bigger than her face? Very willing to give fish to a charming kitty cat?"

And he means it. It's hard to be without your family and friends...as he knows too well.

Jake blinks. He's not sure what Spark could've seen to make him think....
"Think you might've seen somebody else. I'm no pirate. Could probably pull it off, but I prefer to try to get rich by investing in questionable schemes."
Not that...Amy's repeatedly scolded him for that or anything.

Jake's face fell. It still hurt, to think of her...but she was waiting, and he couldn't let himself falter.
"That was for Amy. My girlfriend. I wanted to marry her, but I got taken right before I was gonna propose. I went back to her a few weeks ago...but I'm waiting until I'm home for good."
That is...if she's still waiting for him by then. That he's not sure of.
Nott this grumpy, but had to use this icon anyhow.

"I got the ring fine, it's just back home. With the me who's still in a coma. Hoping she didn't find it and like...have to sell it to pay for me in the hospital. One of the many reasons our health care system sucks."
But that's besides the point. "But yeah. Sure. Plenty of fishing around the place...if we can get out of here. Do you have any idea what just happened, by the way?"
no subject
"If it's like last time, we're probably either stuck here till we share more memories or we'll be able to leave but be dragged back. It's hard to get this place to cave and let us go early. It would rock if we actually got to chose, but we don't. Life's just hard that way. Even the cave itself doesn't seem to be overly sedimental."
no subject
"And yup. Just doctors. No magic, no memory mirrors, none of...this." He waves his hand at the crystals. "It's kinda weird, kinda awesome, but..."
He pauses to re-center himself. "My memories are kinda rough around the edges sometimes. Are you gonna be okay?"
no subject
He stretched. "Sounds like a stinky world, not that I nose much about it yet." He groomed his paw and gave a feline shrug. "How bad can a world without magic be?"
You could almost hear Donovan going "dun dun dun" faintly in the background. Or Quilt. He missed Quilt...
no subject
He should know. He knows a few.
"But life's life. Most important thing is spending it with the people you care about---but I know the train loves to make that hard on us."
no subject
So instead he nodded. "The Train brings lots of people, but never the ones we want."
no subject
He sighs and idly rolls his arm. "...did I hear other people say this is gonna keep happening to us?"

"You heard the news, right? What we are in the void right now is just our souls. Our bodies are all unconscious on the last world we were on before boarding."
He looks hesitant. It's upsetting news, he knows.

Normally Jake would crack a joke to lighten the mood, but...this is too serious for that. He sighs.
"I saw it for myself when I went back home. I was bouncing around the city fine, but then my body's still in a coma at the hospital. It was really creepy to look at. But---we're gonna figure something out, okay?"
He can't let it end on a hopeless note.
no subject
But wait, wouldn't Leia of all people have known? Had she been taking care of all their bodies? That would be like her to do that and not tell them to protect them, wouldn't it? Why was she always so worried about his secrets hurting him when she was keeping something like that to herself? He needed to talk to her...
But for now he had to focus. "What happens if like... I was fishing? Think someone... fished me out?" he asked with a feline grin. I'd hate to sea what I'd look like if they hadn't." But then an unpleasant thought came upon him. He kept the smile up, though his voice was a little too casual when he asked "what about when we leave? If this place is like a creepy disturbing form of Waking, what happens when we go back...? Do we wake from Waking?"
no subject
"And...yeah. I thnk we'll wake back up where we were. Not that I'm so sure I'm on the same page about what that means, but...yeah."
He nods to himself. "It'll work out, I think."
no subject
Look, he's shaken, so this is what will pass for humour at the moment.
no subject
"...okay, I think...we just wait until the next time we're pulled in here, and we figure out what to do with ourselves then?"
