Jema'grethy: Memory Cave

Passengers see a vision, an instance of someone's life, before just as suddenly - they find themselves inside a cave. It is light, a strange moss glowing on the walls and ceiling illuminates the cave nicely, and it is large enough for them to pace around in without trouble.

They're not alone. In the cave with them is another voidtrecker; maybe someone they know well, or maybe someone they've only seen in the aisles of the train. But they are together in this cave, and they will come to find out that it was one of their memories that the other witnessed. And them, one of yours.

The cave has no exit, at least not yet. They know that it will, eventually. When the time is right.

But for that time to come, they first must talk...

(OOC: Memories can be written either in this post or over here)

By the second day of this all... Vegeta has accepted this is just something that is going to happen on this stop. It was a surprise, certainly not something he planned or would want to have happen normally, but out of all the options for this to happen to he at least was lucky in who this location had placed him with. Even then, even if it was his wife, Vegeta was still very private with his thoughts and history. She knew more than most did, but even with her... he was rather quiet on it all. The first day had been difficult to see and for her to had seen what he had been through. This time around though had been...

Interesting. Seeing the memory from her perspective had been...

Well, he can really understand why Bulma had been so excited about Whis' abilities now.

Coming to in the cave after going through that memory, he looked around to find her, expecting this all to play out as it had before.

Learning more about Vegeta was something that Bulma always took advantage of. She knew more than all of their friends, of course, but even then there were things that she didn't ask and didn't poke her nose into on purpose. She didn't really need to know every little fine detail, after all, to know that he was a different man now and that the man she lived with these days was someone she could always trust.

Even if others didn't necessarily see him the same way, even now. (Let's not get into how often Bulma threatens people with Vegeta, either, that's a whole other issue.)

Bulma comes to and takes a moment, blinking before she looks around, relieved to at least see her husband there right along with her. It's not surprising, after all of this, to see him there, but she's smiling gently in relief anyway as she sits up. "Well.. it's us two again, huh?"

"Certainly seems that way." And despite knowing from the day before they were fine, or to assume they were, Vegeta still reaches out a hand to her, both to help her and almost as if to check on her.

In a way this sharing between them was needed, after all that happened with the stop where he had lost control, or even further back with that book of hers. Though she certainly had more access to his past than he would live through that... he's going to have to trade her back and switch it around for him to see her history. It would only be fair, but somehow Vegeta doubts that would happen.

"I am never complaining about pain to you again..." He grumbled out. And that was saying something. He's died twice, including basically drowning to death in his own blood from when Freeza had shot him through the chest. That... had not been fun. Though honestly... he thinks he would take that again over... her memory.

"Well.. I guess better that than the alternative?" Which would be a stranger, for Vegeta, and she knows that he would be very much less than thrilled with all of that. He barely put up with her knowing more, and she isn't silly enough to think that he would be fine and dandy with someone who doesn't know him witnessing anything at all about his past or maybe even his present, considering no one could possibly know the Prince of all Saiyans was soft on his youngest child.

Bulma laughs as Vegeta says he isn't complaining about pain again, shoulders shrugging. She knows that saiyans consider human birthing techniques rather rudimentary, and damn was it painful, but...

It worked. And had worked for long enough that humans were pretty damn prevalent.

"I know it isn't fighting, but.. I would say giving birth is pretty damn close, judging by that." She may even sound a little proud about it, if only because he's typically telling her to stop whining. "Worth it in the end, though. Without all that dopamine after I would've told you to shove off about having Bulla."

Whis had saved her a lot of pain and Vegeta a lot of fussing, even if he was mostly serving his own purposes in helping her.

... "Yeah, it is." He doesn't like it at all, but if he was going to go through any of this, she was one of the few people he would want it to happen with. And it's not just not wanting most to see this 'soft side', its also to move on from his past. What if he got someone like Madoka for this, and she saw just what he used to be? Vegeta was still trying to make up for what he and his people had done, he hasn't forgotten it, nor was he trying to, he was just trying to undo some of the damage they had done. He can't undo all the death and destruction, but he can try and prevent it from happening to others.

Vegeta's quiet for a long moment, looking her over as she laughs and jokes about it all. "You're certainly far stronger than I realized." She was... so fragile in comparison, but still, the idea of even doing that?! Yeah, no. Not that Vegeta doesn't understand the mechanics of it, just... yeah, he never put much thought into the actual actions of it.

Or those emotions that had followed upon Trunks arriving. Especially with those, since Vegata had no interest in the boy at that time.

Bulma likes to think that she's seen the ugly parts of her husband. Maybe not the ugliest parts, of course, but enough that she was well aware that some of the memories that she may happen upon may not be all that happy or sweet. After all, she'd met him somewhat on Earth, but mostly on Namek, when there was only seemingly rivalry with Goku on his mind and of course going super saiyan. These days Vegeta is more of a family man, of course, but she has yet to forget what an angry little gremlin he'd been when they had met.

"Are you telling me you thought I was weak?" Here is his wife very much pretending to be annoyed about that realization, as if she hadn't already known that. Yes, by direct comparison she is very much weaker than Vegeta, but in others...

Well, it's clear enough. "Without Whis I would've done it all over again with Bulla. It might've been easier, though... second time around and all." She pauses for all of a moment before she's back to prodding him, this time literally, reaching out to poke his arm.

"You would've been losing your mind."

That could be a trap question... but also, they were honest with each other. Even if it annoyed the hell out of the other. "Yes, I thought you were, physically at least." Lets face it, Bulma, compared to a Saiyan most humans are weak. And yes, how often had Vegeta used it as an insult to others, though... it was never really that with her. It was a fact, but not an insult. Though that may mean little since he does use it to insult others who were not her. He had seen her strength more towards mental abilities, still amazed how far she was ahead of most of those on Earth.

Seeing this now, yes, Vegeta was glad Whis had stepped in for Bulma, but at the same time, "Yes but now you're hassling me to have more children because of him." Look, the two they had were fine, they didn't need more. He was happy with what they had, even if they hadn't seen either of them for so long...

Also, "You don't know that." Vegeta snapped out. Look here woman, with what he's gone through you think seeing her go through that would... well... though if that's how humans dealt with birth... though... clearly she could make something better to deal with the situation, right?! Why was human technology so primitive when it came to child birth?!

"Well not everyone can be strong like a saiyan, you know." Yes, she's pouting a little about that - even if it was mostly in jest. She supposes it isn't really all that surprising that a person wouldn't like to be told that they were thought of as weak, even though she knows that Vegeta doesn't consider her weak in all aspects. After all, without her brains, they wouldn't have gotten to Namek, or anywhere close to where they were now.

No time machine, no revamped scouters... she's well aware of her own merits, here.

"It's called using a good thing while you have it!" She's laughs lightly, knowing damn well that Whis had only done that in order to get Vegeta moving on training for the tournament. She's very pleased that he had been adamant about not leaving her, of course, happy that he had chosen her and his family first, for however rare that could be.

"I do, though." That little, devious laugh follows again before she goes on with accusing : "You were all jittery about Bulla's birth before I even went into labor. Then add me in pain on top of it, you'd be fussing up a storm."

"Maybe I wouldn't if humans weren't so backward with their reproductive technologies!" Vegeta snapped out, more out of frustrations of her teasing him than the actual topic. But still, he has a point! Or maybe it is the idea of Bulma struggling through Bulla's birth, as normal as it was, just...

Damnit, he refuses to admit to her she's right on this.

"Well, if it didn't work, I'm sure we would've developed something different." Besides, humans weren't a fighting race for the most part, so there was no need to get her back out in the universe to conquer another planet or whatever saiyan women did. Even an inventor such as herself saw no need to develop something like the saiyans had to keep their babies in until they were big enough to walk.

Though, if she could develop something akin to Whis' delivery system.. she might be on to something.

"Anyway, it didn't happen, so don't start fussing now." She shoves him with her elbow, still teasing because of course she is. She still wouldn't turn down another kid, especially with Whis around, but anyway - "No wonder Goku always gives you trouble about Bulla, though. You spoil her." So much more than Trunks, but she isn't going to bring that one up. That's a thorny subject.
