You are Not Alone: Comms

Talk to All

Talk to Team

Talk to Individual

For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. If they have headphones from the music room they can make it so they work like earpieces.

In which two gods are very gay at each other

As much as I love mortalkind, you're my boyfriend. Agapité mou. No one can replace you, especially not in my heart.

... I fear the sixth more than I've feared anything in my entire life, Than. And that includes Father's Hordes, all of the Furies on a bad day, Lernie and all of her murderous heads, Theseus with that blasted chariot and Asterius with his golden armor, Father himself, and... [A shudder.] the Tiny Vermin.

[Yes, business is being discussed. Business business business.]

Right. What Than said. He's usually right about these things.

[Love on the battlefield is powerful, in all the right ways and all the wrong ones. It drives you to fight harder, to hang on even tighter, to do everything you can to succeed, and when everything falls apart, it takes you out at the knees and knifes you in the back on the way down for good measure.]

[(He remembers loving Connie, and Maine. It couldn't stand up to Connie learning the truth and leaving, only to be killed by the people she'd left behind; it couldn't stand up to Sigma, burning Maine out of his own head until only the Meta was left. He remembers Carolina and York, numbers one and two, together until Tex's arrival upended everything, and now Carolina still clicks York's lighter open and shut and has regrets-)]

[(And all that is a world away. Maybe the gods will have better luck; they've already got more chances at life itself than he and his friends had ever had.)]

[This may have been in public, but it was still a very personal conversation, and interrupting feels weird at best. Wash clears his throat awkwardly, though he manages to keep his voice steady when he does speak up.]

For whatever it's worth, the sixth will take you out of the mission and land you in the luggage car. It's not permanent here.

[That doesn't mean it won't be traumatic - he's got a magic phobia that attests to that - but at least it's not permanent.]

[...and goddammit he can't leave that there. It's a loophole, but it's still about death.]

And do I want to know what a Tiny Vermin is?

[He can hear the capital letters in that title. Might as well use it to pivot.]

[Do you think love can bloom even on a battlefield? Wait, no, wrong video game.]

But we need Than. His powers as the God of Gentle Death make it so that we can stop these invaders without any more bloodshed on behalf of the survivors. He's the best at what he does, and he does it well. I can't risk letting that happen to him anyway, but we'd be losing one of our biggest assets for the whole mission.

Not that you're just an asset, Than, you're also an important God, and my boyfriend, and I love you very much.

[Being open with your affections is all well and good when you're in private, but not on a public call going out to all Voidtreckers. Gods dammit, Zag!]

In the Temple of Styx, there are these Gigantic Vermin that are poisonous, in that they spew puddles of concentrated poison everywhere. Barely stepping in one of them is enough to poison me, let alone a mortal. However, they're slow, so it's easy enough to take them down if you can avoid their bite, and their poison.

But the Tiny Vermin is... different. It seems to be able to summon Gigantic Vermin to its side with a roar, like it's the pack leader, or something. It burrows and reappears in random places, usually trying to sneak up behind you. And it's fast. It can Dash like I can, and its swings are rough. What it lacks in imposing form it makes up for in ferocity.
