Under the Sea: Mission start
After fleeing the strange shapes in the sky the voidtreckers are perhaps not looking forward to yet another mission and indeed the first few days of Fiddlesticks go by without any strange dreams, no warning that another mission might be nigh. Yet on the morning of day five their SCA's will glow with the colours of the void and a holographic message will appear.
Preperations
The dressing room is open once again, though the clothes this time are simple in choice. A wet suit for each void trecker as well as a pair of flippers, a helmet and a breathing pack. It at least has instructions and there will be a little bit of time for them to figure out how to use them. Apart from that there are some waterproof packs for supplies to be packed in.
They will have a couple of hours to get ready for their mission.
Arrival: Blue and Red
"We are now approaching world #7625000129523. Drop order is Red and Blue, Purple then Orange. Red and Blue team to doors. Arrival in world #7625000129523 in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."
The train shudders and lurches as they exit the void, the view from the window goes from the ever shifting void to a beautiful deep blue sky. They fly through the air and swoop down to land on a sandy beach. The doors open allowing those who are taking part in the Blue and Red missions to debark. The doors close and the train swoops up into the air.
The beach stretches from one side to the other, in the distance as the beach turns into sloping green hills they can see a village. Beyond that there is a jungle. Any red team who check their SCA will see four points, the rock pools.
The villagers have noticed the huge train sweeping down onto their island and so contact is made quickly. They will be quite accepting of the help and explain the situation. They will help any of red team to the rockpools if asked.
Red
The rockpools are built up and indeed made so the water will reach a persons waist if they stand in them. The water is cold but not overly so. When the water shoots up anyone in them will shoot up also.
They will find themselves in a vortex of water, with anyone else who enters that rockpool. The water itself seems to be fighting them, tendrils of water reaching out of the whirlpool to try and drag them further into the chaos. It takes a whole lot of willpower to stay in the centre, the water can be fought with weapons, even with fists. They feel as if they are falling or flying, perhaps both. Surrounded by the pure chaos of the ocean.
Blue
Hopefully they spend the day helping with preparations because when night falls the monsters emerge from the sea. Terrifying twisted creatures. The villagers only have simple weapons but will tell them that fire is helpful against these water creatures.
Hold off the monsters and keep the people safe.
Purple
The doors close and the train flies off into the sky, flying over the island to the other side where it lands on a rocky bay, near tall towering cliffs.
"Purple team to doors." The doors open, allowing the purple team to disembark before flying off once again.
In the cliff face there is a large cave entrance, over the entrance there are symbols, translated by their SCA's. Clear mind, clear heart. Come those who seek to serve.
There are six people stood by the entrance, looking quite surprised at the new arrivals. One, a woman with silver hair recovers enough to speak first. "Ah. Void warriors. We are honoured by your help."
Once introductions are made the spiritual leaders will happily accept the escort and their adventure can begin.
Orange
They fly up and out across the ocean, a longer flight than before but eventually they descend and there is a slight juddering before they land, floating on the ocean.
"Orange team disembark, please use luggage or dressing carriage doors only."
They will step out onto an inflated platform that streches around the train. Down below are the depths of the water and their SCA's show them at the point of Bui. It is below them so all they need to is dive.
The dive takes a while, and depends on their swimming ability but hopefully with a bit of teamwork they arrive at the silent city of Bui.

"At least you can melt ice!" He replied. "Or swaddle up against it. You can't banish heat like you can cold. You know what, I'm still glad it's not ice though. The last time I was someplace that cold it was an absolutely miserable experience. But what I wouldn't give to jump into that sea without this weird skin on and cool off."
He meant the wet-suits, of course. What strange beast's hide was used to make these outfits? Surely it couldn't be a fabric. Sven decided to follow Duo's lead, drawing the intricate system of interlocking metal teeth (the "zipper", as he's been told it's called) open down past his chest. He wasn't wearing a shirt underneath, and a tiny slither of scarred, melted skin showed through the gap.

"I'm dreading an ice world. But from the stories I've heard I think we managed to avoid that one a few missions back." Duo grinned over at the guy. "Don't think we've met though. The name's Duo. Purple team but I'm hanging out with you reads for this run. You came in on the last platform?"
no subject
"That's right! I may be Red, but I'm about as green as anyone." Geddit? Colour joke. "But I've some prior experience with the whole travelling to places and solving problems shtick, so hopefully I won't slow you guys up and can actually be of some help."
He hoped! He wasn't feeling out of his depth yet--in fact, he was feeling downright good just being off the train and tentatively optimistic about their mission. But still, it wouldn't do him any good to let himself get too cocky, not on his first time on a world different to his own.
"Since I'm new and still getting a hang of the ropes and all: what made you decide to switch to our team for the mission?"
no subject
"I'm sure you'll be fine, man. Nothing to it I'm told! We just get in there and get the job done and hope nothing messes up that yanks us back to the train!" Because he could do without that happening again, thanks very much.
The question had Duo flashing a wolfish grin. "Because I wanna kick ass, not babysit."
no subject
On his first day, actually, when he'd arrived on the platform... An unknown threat so large and unprecedented that the train had called the Voidtreckers back and their mission had been abandoned.
Concerns about future interference aside, he couldn't help but laugh at Duo's own cocky enthusiasm.
"So you're a hands-on kind of guy, then? I can roll with that." His expression took a tilt towards the slightly more serious. "Honestly, I thought about going with one of the other teams myself. I'm used to dealing with the gods, so maybe I could help with figuring out why the islanders can't seem to reach theirs...but I'm worried about the people who have disappeared in those pools we're headed for. If there's a risk to life then I felt I should to be here above anywhere else."
no subject
"You don't have to stick with the team you get assigned during missions. I'll go where I think I'm gonna be more useful." Duo stopped talking then and gave the guy a curious look, eyebrows raised. "Gods, huh...?" How many times had he argued that that guy didn't exist? But Duo was pretty sure that the God he didn't believe in was very different from the ones Sven dealt with.
"It's your choice, buddy! Like I said, go where you think you'll be the most useful." That was his motivation and would continue to be that way unless something else came up.

Duplicating himself was beyond the bounds of his magic, and probably for the best. It was difficult enough some days to resign himself to the reality that he could only help so many people at once, having the resources that he could spread himself thinner than he already did would be a great way to burn out.
Still, Duo's words haunted him. Screaming Death... Maybe it was better to keep his focus on the mission ahead of them, but Sven felt he couldn't not ask. "Can you tell me about what happened that day? The forced evacuation, and this thing you call Screaming Death? This might not be the convenient time for it, but I feel like I need to know what threat could be so great that the people sent to be rescuers had no choice but to turn tail and run."
no subject
"Back home, where I come from, there was this asshole. Details don't matter, but he got the bright idea to drop a giant space battleship onto the Earth. I was in space at the time. Involved in a... well... in the battle to end all battles I guess. But on the ground? Later I saw the news reels. The images of that thing coming toward the Earth, filling the skies. The shadow it cast."
He looked over at Sven then, he'd been gazing up at the sky, lost in memory, but now he gave the guy is attention, his expression as serious as Duo ever got. "What I saw on that planet was something similar. Clouds went dark. It was everywhere. It was huge. Bigger than the Libra was. And I don't know if it was falling or attacking, but I didn't stick around to find out. I was just a guy with a dagger, no way I was fighting it. So I hit the evac button. I know Death when I see it. And that was a hell of a lot of Death coming at that planet. And none of us was prepared for that."
no subject
The image sent what felt like a cold shiver through his very spirit.
He placed a hand on Duo's shoulder, shaking his head. "You did the right thing getting out of there. Gods have mercy on the soul of the planet, but sticking around would have been a pointless death."
no subject
"Yeah, it sucked. I wish we could have done more for that planet. But it happened without warning. We were grossly unprepared. And sticking around... if we had, none of us would be here now."
no subject
Even so, had he been on that doomed mission himself, he wondered if he could have stood it to leave the planet and its people to its bitter end. Of course he believed in his assurances for Duo from a logical standpoint. A man with just a shield cannot protect even himself in the face of an erupting volcano, let alone the rest of his village. Whether or not he could stomach leaving was another matter, even if the sacrifice were foolhardy.
"Some things you just can't stand against," he said, speaking partly to himself. "But we can do still do something here."
no subject
Now... if he died protecting this planet from a foe he could see and get into stabbing distance of? That wouldn't be so bad. At least he was doing something. At least he would have earned it.
