Under the Sea: Mission start

After fleeing the strange shapes in the sky the voidtreckers are perhaps not looking forward to yet another mission and indeed the first few days of Fiddlesticks go by without any strange dreams, no warning that another mission might be nigh. Yet on the morning of day five their SCA's will glow with the colours of the void and a holographic message will appear.

Preperations

The dressing room is open once again, though the clothes this time are simple in choice. A wet suit for each void trecker as well as a pair of flippers, a helmet and a breathing pack. It at least has instructions and there will be a little bit of time for them to figure out how to use them. Apart from that there are some waterproof packs for supplies to be packed in.

They will have a couple of hours to get ready for their mission.

Arrival: Blue and Red

"We are now approaching world #7625000129523. Drop order is Red and Blue, Purple then Orange. Red and Blue team to doors. Arrival in world #7625000129523 in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."

The train shudders and lurches as they exit the void, the view from the window goes from the ever shifting void to a beautiful deep blue sky. They fly through the air and swoop down to land on a sandy beach. The doors open allowing those who are taking part in the Blue and Red missions to debark. The doors close and the train swoops up into the air.

The beach stretches from one side to the other, in the distance as the beach turns into sloping green hills they can see a village. Beyond that there is a jungle. Any red team who check their SCA will see four points, the rock pools.

The villagers have noticed the huge train sweeping down onto their island and so contact is made quickly. They will be quite accepting of the help and explain the situation. They will help any of red team to the rockpools if asked.

Red

The rockpools are built up and indeed made so the water will reach a persons waist if they stand in them. The water is cold but not overly so. When the water shoots up anyone in them will shoot up also.

They will find themselves in a vortex of water, with anyone else who enters that rockpool. The water itself seems to be fighting them, tendrils of water reaching out of the whirlpool to try and drag them further into the chaos. It takes a whole lot of willpower to stay in the centre, the water can be fought with weapons, even with fists. They feel as if they are falling or flying, perhaps both. Surrounded by the pure chaos of the ocean.

Blue

Hopefully they spend the day helping with preparations because when night falls the monsters emerge from the sea. Terrifying twisted creatures. The villagers only have simple weapons but will tell them that fire is helpful against these water creatures.

Hold off the monsters and keep the people safe.

Purple

The doors close and the train flies off into the sky, flying over the island to the other side where it lands on a rocky bay, near tall towering cliffs.

"Purple team to doors." The doors open, allowing the purple team to disembark before flying off once again.

In the cliff face there is a large cave entrance, over the entrance there are symbols, translated by their SCA's. Clear mind, clear heart. Come those who seek to serve.

There are six people stood by the entrance, looking quite surprised at the new arrivals. One, a woman with silver hair recovers enough to speak first. "Ah. Void warriors. We are honoured by your help."

Once introductions are made the spiritual leaders will happily accept the escort and their adventure can begin.

Orange

They fly up and out across the ocean, a longer flight than before but eventually they descend and there is a slight juddering before they land, floating on the ocean.

"Orange team disembark, please use luggage or dressing carriage doors only."

They will step out onto an inflated platform that streches around the train. Down below are the depths of the water and their SCA's show them at the point of Bui. It is below them so all they need to is dive.

The dive takes a while, and depends on their swimming ability but hopefully with a bit of teamwork they arrive at the silent city of Bui.

"There's novelty, yes." Fëanor hasn't touched movies yet. He had other things on his mind. Maybe that's something he should try.

"Like this water for example. I have seen a water source behave in a similar manner but there it was temperature and pressure causing it to burst from below the ground. Here? It's cold, it's too often."

"So something is making it do it and I imagine it's our job to figure out what. And if we die in the process? Are our lives invaluable as long as someone finds out the cause?"

Xue Yang doesn't feel like dying for someone else cause.

It might come as a surprise to many but Fëanor is not especially keen on anybody dying for a cause. Be it himself or anybody else.

"Whatever power has summoned us has a way of keeping us here."

One has already died on a mission. He died. And now he's back. Not entirely unchanged though.
xue_yang: (You can't be serious)

"Then I guess we need to charge right in to our potential deaths. What a wonderful thought." Clearly not as Xue Yang does not seem pleased about it considering he had just barely escaped death on his own world by coming here. He didn't want it to finally catch up to him.

"Need? Not necessarily."

Fëanor has already died once and he does not recommend the experience... and yet the fear of death has never stopped him.

"If I go, and I plan to, I prefer to go because I want to. Not because I think it's safe. Not because I have faith in the good intentions of those that sent us here. That I don't. I just want to know what's on the other side. What's causing this water's unusual behavior."

"What causing it to be unnatural is the same thing that is sucking in villagers. Clearly it is dangerous. So you might just be curious but it's still going to try and do the same to us."

Xue Yang doesn't care that much about the mystery. He figures when they go through there will be a fight and whatever that fight is with is what's causing the water issues.

"I am certain that it would. I just consider myself a bit tougher than some hapless islanders who weren't expecting trouble."

Fëanor grins. One day his curiosity might kill him. He just counts this day has yet to come.
xue_yang: (Sexy and I know it)

[personal profile] xue_yang 2020-05-31 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"If I were armed I might agree with that statement for myself as well." He holds up his hands, empty of anything to defend himself. "But as it stands I'm little better then those hapless islanders."
tinkerheart: (I let the world burn)

"If there is one thing the train never supplies are with, that would be weapons." Fëanor shrugs. "I'd hardly call myself defenseless but I wouldn't mind a proper sword."

Not just any sword, mind you, he refuses to use junk. It's already an insult he has to suffer those awful outfits. Like the lizard skin onesies, they've been given to wear now.
xue_yang: (Oh Really?)

[personal profile] xue_yang 2020-06-07 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
He would prefer his own sword as well. A replacement would be a sorry excuse for his own weapon but then everyone's swords are unique where he is from and his is specially catered to him.

"And is there any way to actually get a weapon on the train? Like with the points I've heard about?"

"Not that I know of. You can't buy them in the shop and as of making them..." Fëanor lets out a sigh.

"It's been a challenge to set up anything even remotely resembling a workshop there. To say nothing of the forge. That's a project I might revisit now that we have more carriages to choose from. Though I'd triple the usual precautions. The very last thing I'd want in an enclosed space traveling through the literal Void is fire."

The conditions are improving but they're far from what he finds even moderately acceptable.

"I can see that being a problem. I'm surprised with everyone on this train that there isn't someone who doesn't know a way that wouldn't involve such methods."

Xue Yang will find a way to get a sword somehow. If he is lucky perhaps on one of the worlds they go on he can convince someone to make him a replica of his own.
tinkerheart: (are you sure)

[personal profile] tinkerheart 2020-06-14 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"What do you mean by way that wouldn't involve such methods?"

To say he's surprised by the suggestion would be an understatement.

"How else would you like to obtain a weapon other than buying or making it?"

Or stealing ... but he, of all people, won't be caught proposing anything of such sort. Of course, rearranging matter into desirable shape is possible but it's such a menial, tedious work. Forging a blade on the other hand. That's art.

"There could be an ability that simply creates weaponry out of thin air. People have skills and powers that can make them do impressive things. So why would something like that be possible?"

He used to be able to pull his sword out of a bag that is no bigger then a coin purse. If that kind of magic is possible, creation could also be in the realm of possibility.
tinkerheart: (hm)

[personal profile] tinkerheart 2020-06-18 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Technically, it's most likely possible but I would worry about permeance of such creation. I don't see how it could last." You can force the world to bend to your will only for so long before it would oppose it and undo your work. "I doubt anyone other than the conjurer could use it."

That, and the fact it reeks of workings of the Enemy. If you have to force the world to bend to your will, clearly there's something wrong with your intentions. Not that his own were always good...
xue_yang: (Listening to you)

[personal profile] xue_yang 2020-06-19 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Xue Yang shrugs, "Then I guess we are stuck with waiting until we find a world with people willing to forge them in a quick manner." He doesn't know if he will ever be able to get his sword back but for now it seems he'll just have to use his head to stay alive.
tinkerheart: (hm)

wrap?

[personal profile] tinkerheart 2020-06-20 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"If we ever end at a world where people willing to lend me their forge, I can make any sword. Sadly, such an opportunity has only happened once."

When it did, he had chosen to make something else.
xue_yang: (Default)

Wrap!

[personal profile] xue_yang 2020-06-21 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Let me know if that happens."

He moves towards the pools. Might as well get this over with.
