Onward: Blue

On the second night the ground begins to shake. The islanders seem well versed in earthquake safety and there is no mass panic- from them anyways. They will help any voidtreckers who don't know what to do in such a situation. The shaking is over quickly and is not strong enough to do any major damage though there are some after shocks throughout the day.

More worryingly are the thick clouds that roll out, covering the sky. Despite the memories these might invoke in the void warriors they are normal clouds.

Or perhaps not that normal, dawn breaks into darkness, the sun barely penetrating. Shadows are deep and the temperature cooler. It is not too dark to see, more like an endless twilight.

The monsters do not retreat into the sea as dawn comes. Instead they continue their attack into the day, unrelenting.

The seas themselves are rough, large waves crashing down onto the beach. The current is strong, as if the very sea itself is fighting them.

"That's weird!" A portal, just sitting around and nobody knew. But if he thinks about it for a second--and he does--would anyone in Spira knew if there was such a thing just...around? Not at all.

"I wonder if more of us have ways of getting to other worlds and we never knew?" And this train business isn't as out there as some of them think. Huh! "We coulda met each other sooner!"

Well, maybe not. But isn't that a thought?

"It's a possibility. After all, how else would a train be able to come into our worlds and kidnap us?" Ignis had pondered that one a lot. He also wondered if the thing somehow snatched them at sleeping moments or caught them no matter what they were doing.

But whatever happened or how it happened, his friends were here and of course Tidus was putting a positive spin on this so Ignis smiled slightly. The break or alternate reality going on now was buying Noct more time to not be in a rush to get back to the events taking place on Eos. He could enjoy life and be given more time to actually get around to the business of living it.

"However I don't believe it was the same portal the train came through..though I suppose one wouldn't be able to find out so easily.." But the thought of meeting the blitzball player sooner was a pleasant thought.

"Nah," Tidus agrees, regarding where the train came from. He's keeping half an eye across the immediate expanse of the beach as he speaks for any wandering monsters, but from what shows off the light of the bonfires, the sea creature are being kept at bay at the farthest reaches, and the coast was still clear for them. "This train didn't look like it needed any portal. But I've heard other people talk about going to different worlds... and a lot gets lost to history. Who knows what we used to do in our worlds, one time?"

Spira had lost so much history, that the thought of a portal just sitting around... well, it wasn't seeming so inconceivable to Tidus. Nevertheless, a swab of dull red catches his eye just then emerging onto the shoreline a distance behind Ignis. Not close enough to get the sneak on the man, but--

"Six o'clock!" Meaning, behind. That's a closer problem for Ignis to deal with than Tidus, who's now watching the shoreline closer. Was a new wave of crabs coming?

It was a subject Ignis had put thought into but he could never fully explain it to the point where it made sense. Time travel was factored into it because how else could he explain Gladio not knowing things along with himself? Then Prompto and Noctis knew of things that were even further from the two other Crownsguard. It was just confusing and what was worse as to why it kidnapped children and adults that couldn't even fight.

"I don't have all of the answers unfortunately." The advisor hated admitting that but he wasn't going to lie to Tidus either. That was just bad repayment of the other's unfailing kindness and assistance.

Hearing the blonde now, Ignis didn't even question it and summoned his lance after standing up. Fresh crab on a stick, alright.
