Final: Blue
The siege continues. Crabs, giant squids, shark head beasts, all continue out of the sea. The islanders are in good spirits though and everyone pulls their weight. Traps are set, settlements defended. Some of the older islanders have taken it upon themselves to make sure everyone is fed and rested and so in quiet moments those who cannot fight are sent with packs of foods to give to those patrolling and guarding.
Those voidtreckers who don't know how to rest may find themselves practically kidnapped by a well meaning islander and forced to eat and sleep.
All the time the sky is getting darker, the seas rougher.
Day Ten
Just after dawn on day ten the storm breaks. Crashing thunder, lightning and roiling seas. The water swirls and seems to rise, it is rising, up and up a wave so high that you may fear that when it breaks it could swallow the island whole.
But it doesn't break, instead twists, taking form. A huge towering beast made of water and sand. A hand swipes down over a patch of beach, a wall of water to knock any fighters off their feet.
Around the same time, those not busy being attacked by the water monster will notice their SCA's light up and a screen appear. They might hear some familiar voices.
It seems there is more than fighting a monster to be done!
Beacon Building
Assuming the information is given those of the island will suggest the best place for a beacon to be built- the cliffs are the highest point on the island.
It will be hard work lugging wood up there in a storm, not to mention actually building and lighting a fire as cloud is low, rain is heavy and the wind is high.

He wrenches his thoughts away, and instead folds himself down into sitting cross-legged. Here is as good a place as any to stop for a meal.
"Well enough." His confidence in that isn't feigned, or forced. The team really have been doing well. "I feared I'd missed an incursion last night, but Drizzt and Guenwhyvar took care of it. Reliable allies make all the difference." He lifts the parcel in a jocular salute to Taiki, to include him in that. "Have you met the panther? She rivals any suugu."
no subject
He knows Drizzt but not Guenwhyvar and shook his head. "A panther?"
How had there been a panther on the train, especially one he had not seen.

He remembered how sad he had looked when his summoning had not worked and was glad it worked here on the world. "I am glad he was able to see her again."

"The two of them had just reunited," he agreed, "It was clear they both held a great deal of respect for one another."

He hoped he would be able to meet her, when the fighting was finally over.

He saw the gesture but wasn't really sure what he was meant to do, to say. He didn't really have anything else to report other than all being well in the village and though he worried about what was going on elsewhere he knew he wouldn't be able to bear the details and so had no questions either.
Silence is no strange to Taiki, he had spent years being silent unless pushed to talk. But he worries Lord Gyousou will see him as rude. After all, he had once barely been able to prevent himself babbling everything that came into his head at his king and now he struggled to find words even when prompted.

He raised an eyebrow at his taiho, eyes warm, but merely continued eating.

He doesn't want to leave just now, being with Lord Gyousou is something he will never seek to lessen the time of. He is worried though, that Lord Gyousou is talking his silence as something other than Taiki just having nothing to say.
He has a lot on his mind. The battle, the ways they were trying to keep the village safe, even the people he had met here; both islanders and other voidtreckers. But words are far away and he's pretty sure Lord Gyousou won't want to hear about such unimportant opinions.
