Final: Blue
The siege continues. Crabs, giant squids, shark head beasts, all continue out of the sea. The islanders are in good spirits though and everyone pulls their weight. Traps are set, settlements defended. Some of the older islanders have taken it upon themselves to make sure everyone is fed and rested and so in quiet moments those who cannot fight are sent with packs of foods to give to those patrolling and guarding.
Those voidtreckers who don't know how to rest may find themselves practically kidnapped by a well meaning islander and forced to eat and sleep.
All the time the sky is getting darker, the seas rougher.
Day Ten
Just after dawn on day ten the storm breaks. Crashing thunder, lightning and roiling seas. The water swirls and seems to rise, it is rising, up and up a wave so high that you may fear that when it breaks it could swallow the island whole.
But it doesn't break, instead twists, taking form. A huge towering beast made of water and sand. A hand swipes down over a patch of beach, a wall of water to knock any fighters off their feet.
Around the same time, those not busy being attacked by the water monster will notice their SCA's light up and a screen appear. They might hear some familiar voices.
It seems there is more than fighting a monster to be done!
Beacon Building
Assuming the information is given those of the island will suggest the best place for a beacon to be built- the cliffs are the highest point on the island.
It will be hard work lugging wood up there in a storm, not to mention actually building and lighting a fire as cloud is low, rain is heavy and the wind is high.

Water Giant

Okay, sure, he'd had an internal panic from his position on the barricade that he was about be washed away by a tsunami, but he'd stood his ground.
The storm was a beast and Maru was strongly against being wet... But Madoka was at his side, as were several others. He was ready for this fight. Or as ready as he would ever be. The chain connecting him to Madoka rattled as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other, looking to the Team Leaders for permission to go in and ruin the monsters day.

But he couldn't die from it, and there would be time enough afterwards for healing. As long as they ensured that there will be an afterwards. Unable to reach the giant with his blade, he was clearing the beach of the smaller monsters with efficient, aggressive strikes. It would be one less distraction for the others.

Sleepy Ash - OTA (Come join him for naps!)
But he was finally tugged away and lead to a makeshift bed, which amounted for a small next of blankets and a pillow.
He dropped down onto them, the pillow behind his back and against the wall he leaned against.
He was exhausted. His whole body felt heavy. Maru knew he had been using more energy than normal to keep going. He'd been pushing himself harder than he'd ever pushed himself before. And he knew it was largely in part to the dampening effect the planet had on some of his abilities.
Eyes closing, he tilted his head back and did his best to relax.

She knelt next to the blanket, rubbing at her eye. "...you too, huh?"
no subject
"Me too..." If by that she meant he had been forced to rest. If not then he wasn't too sure what he was agreeing to and he was too tired to think it through. "... They made me stop."

He has spent the last few days helping out in every way he can that doesn't involve fighting or killing a living creatures. He's not feeling brilliant, there isn't many places on the island where he cannot smell blood in the wind. But he isn't sick. It's fine.
Volunteering for handing out food parcels is done out of more than just wanting to help everyone. He is worried about everyone and wants to see them with his own eyes. So he is carrying a pack of food on his back and has enlisted two children, old enough to help though too young to fight, to help run parcels down to fighters.
They stick to places that aren't currently fighting and he stays back if there are bodies on the sand. He will only be a burden if he gets ill. But he offers a wave to anyone he knows. "Are you alright?"
Beacon Building
He is soaked to the skin and rather glad he is wearing a wet suit as he lugs yet another armful of wood up the cliff. He isn't completely sure why they need a beacon but considering most of those fit enough to haul wood are currently out fighting a giant water monster he is doing his best to help out those who are left behind.
"Do you need help?"
He squints through the storm, trying to make out the figure near him, not sure if it is an islander or a voidtrecker.
It doesn't really matter he will help them regardless.
food parcels
"Well enough," he calls back as he takes the small parcel from Taiki's helper with a quiet word of thanks.
no subject
The children grab some more parcels from him, We'll take these to the others!.
He smiled, "Be careful." He warned them as they ran off down to where the others were resting.
His eyes go back to Gyousou, watching him as if to make sure he really was unharmed.

Food parcels
She looks tired and drawn, her hair and clothes caked with salt water and sand as she runs into Taiki, but as soon as she catches sight of him her face lights up.
"Yes, yes, of course I'm alright. What are you doing here?" she asks, reaching for him but then pulling back, uncertain if her touch will do harm right now. Does fighting these sea monsters count as shedding blood?
no subject
"Sorry. I was just giving out food, Lady Wen."
There has indeed been a lot of bloodshed, but he is coping alright. She doesn't smell too strongly of blood herself and he doesn't draw back, though he doesn't reach out either. Not sure if she would want that.
"Um... Do you want some?"

But still, there's casualties on both sides, those who need help being brought over to the village to be seen by a medic. Tidus spots Taiki briefly while helping another young man with a wounded leg, gives the other guy a quick "Hey!" before continuing on, to get him where he needs to be.
With that done, he spots him again, another small call while Taiki's got his two young assistants with him. He's about as clean as any other getting involved in fighting, with any blood washed away as best as possible, though any staining can't be helped.
"Hey, you want help getting those down to the people on the beach? How're you doing?"
For the toll that the continuous fighting's had on Tidus, he's chipper, some delight at seeing the guy. They may not really know each other, but it's good to see familiar faces--even if they're barely so.
no subject
He smiles at Tidus tiredly when he sees him again. "I'm okay, how are you? Is the man you were helping alright?"
He's worried about everyone and all he can do is try his best to be helpful. "Um... If you want, though you need to rest too."

beacon building
Mami is dragging her own burden up the hill, determined to do something useful. Her curls are no more, hair weighed down with the endless onslaught of rain, but she's still trying to float.
"What about you? You've been so busy..."
no subject
"I'm alright. I... I have no idea how we are going to light this."
He has been busy, because he figures helping out is the least he can do when he is so useless at anything actually useful.

Beacon building
Though being 'on it' after days of fighting was easier said than done, especially when trying to climb a hill in a storm carrying a load of wood, and he was willing to admit that he was dragging a bit. But at least he wasn't alone, as indicated by voice of someone near him calling over the wind. Lea didn't recognize the person, even when he shifted a bit sideways to get a better look at him through the storm but shook his head.
"No, I can make it," he called back. "You?" After all, it was only fair to offer help in return right?
no subject
His natural lightness wasn't working well in his favour at the moment. "It's not that much further... Where they said was the highest point."
It seemed like the highest point at least, which of course meant the wind was worse there. He has no idea how they are going to light the beacon, but there are plenty of people helping and someone is certainly better than Taiki when it comes to situations like this.

pre- and beacon making
Amidst dealing with the fiend formed by the sea and beach, Tidus had heard his SCA going off, the chattering of voices that were mostly lost by a bigger problem to deal with. But pulling back, deciding to pay attention, he catches something about Blue Team, and a beacon.
He's removed himself from the fight, crossing from the beach to the village, stopping and grabbing the arms of the first few people he sees not heading down into the fight with the hurried rambling of: "The Bui people--they need a beacon! They're in a coma! We gotta make a beacon!"
But if those poor first few have no idea what to do about the out of breath blond, that's alright: Tidus goes farther into the village, whistling, and will shout from a damn crate if he needs to:
"Yo, everyone! We got word about Bui! They need some kinda beacon! Anyone know what I'm talking about!?"
Please, one person stop this guy from shouting.
[ Call for hands ]
Somehow, some way, the plan to put together a light to make the needed beacon was decided, and while Tidus will help to gather the materials to burn, there's still a need to actually get people on board, to know about the new plan.
So for anyone around not terribly injured or in that apparent state, Tidus will jog over to them, breathing hard, but not about to stop.
"Hey! We need help making a bonfire on top of the cliffs! The villagers are leading the way!"

A young woman, not all that much older than Tidus himself was the first to speak. Perhaps the first to actually pick out the words in his yelling over the storm.

Pre-Water giant and Other things- OTA
Lea was... less difficult than some about resting. By which was meant, he didn't resist when he was semi-kidnapped and brought back for enforced food and sleep. He'd been given a bowl of some sort of fish stew that couldn't possibly be as delicious as his exhausted body made it out to be, then led to a particular hut to sleep.
Anyone who joined him there would find him dozing on and off, slumped against a pile of sacks of something. He didn't particularly care what; it was reasonably comfortable and that's all that mattered at the moment. And it let him catch a bit of sleep without laying down, which he didn't dare do just yet, for fear that if he did, he'd be out for the duration.
Heading for Beacon Building
A water monster. Not a monster from the water but a freaking, giant... thing that was straight up made out of water. Because of course. Of course it would be the one thing that his magic was completely useless against.
He would just be in the way if he tried to fight that thing. But luckily for him, there was something he could do too; he'd heard something about a beacon being built and intended to lend his services to that. And if he mopped up a few of the remaining other sea monsters along the way, so much the better, right?
Figure this will be short but sweet.
He would wake up with a shell in his lap, because someone tried to make Xion rest, got her inside, she saw him and went over, so they left thinking she'd sleep. She left him a shell and headed back out. Because, Xion.
Heading for Beacon Building
Xion had JUST found him when the water monster showed up. She was clearly torn between going to help fight the thing... and going with him now that she found him again...
Probably yes.
Re: Probably yes.
Re: Probably yes.
TY for the thread.
for gyousou
So he turns to look around, seeing what else there is to do that doesn't involve potential drowning. It's then that he spots Gyousou fighting off other monsters, and without having to think any further, Inigo already quickly starts running over to the other. Taiki asked him to keep an eye out for the man, after all, and despite the fact that Gyousou really does seem like a capable warrior, Inigo is intending to keep his promise and help out where he can.
Once he's close enough, he strikes at one of the monsters to give the other at least one less threat to fight.
"Milord, let me help!"
no subject
He's glad he didn't spare expense on outfitting his guards, that this palace sword that came with him came well-maintained and sharp enough to slay an immortal. Which, he supposes, was the point, given that it would have been from a guard present at his execution. He stabs the blade through a snake's skull, and enjoys the irony.
But such thoughts are fleeting, and he shoulders another monster aside to draw up beside Inigo. "What news of the beach?"
