Final: Blue

The siege continues. Crabs, giant squids, shark head beasts, all continue out of the sea. The islanders are in good spirits though and everyone pulls their weight. Traps are set, settlements defended. Some of the older islanders have taken it upon themselves to make sure everyone is fed and rested and so in quiet moments those who cannot fight are sent with packs of foods to give to those patrolling and guarding.

Those voidtreckers who don't know how to rest may find themselves practically kidnapped by a well meaning islander and forced to eat and sleep.

All the time the sky is getting darker, the seas rougher.

Day Ten

Just after dawn on day ten the storm breaks. Crashing thunder, lightning and roiling seas. The water swirls and seems to rise, it is rising, up and up a wave so high that you may fear that when it breaks it could swallow the island whole.

But it doesn't break, instead twists, taking form. A huge towering beast made of water and sand. A hand swipes down over a patch of beach, a wall of water to knock any fighters off their feet.

Around the same time, those not busy being attacked by the water monster will notice their SCA's light up and a screen appear. They might hear some familiar voices.

It seems there is more than fighting a monster to be done!

Beacon Building

Assuming the information is given those of the island will suggest the best place for a beacon to be built- the cliffs are the highest point on the island.

It will be hard work lugging wood up there in a storm, not to mention actually building and lighting a fire as cloud is low, rain is heavy and the wind is high.

"I hope so too..." He nodded, squinting through the rain. It wouldn't be long now and he just hoped that the fire magic would be enough, that the rain wouldn't hamper their efforts too much.

The last few people trudged up the hill and those with the ability to make fire began to step forwards. Taiki reached out carefully, to touch his arm, wishing him luck silently.

And one more should wrap it, leading into the aftermath.

Lea gave his companion a nod, stepping forward and taking as deep a breath as he could in such a storm. Drawing in power, he summoned two large fireballs, one in either hand. Steam hissed from them only to be whipped away by the wind, and Lea put all the force he could muster into launching his fireballs at the piled wood of the beacon. If this couldn't light it, nothing would.

He stood close, watching everwhere wary. There is nothing he can do to help, no way to stop the wind or the rain or help Lea create fire.

But he doesn't need help, he does it, the fire springs up and flies into the beacon. He's not the only one trying to light it, through the roaring storm and whipping winds. But as his fireballs hit the beacon something catches and Taiki smiled at the crackling sound, barely audible over the storm, and the growing glow as flames began to lick at the wood.

"You did it."

And wrapped! TY for the thread!

As soon as he saw the wood catch, Lea's legs all but gave out, causing him to sit down rather suddenly and none too gently on the ground. He was beyond exhausted, but...

"Yeah... we did." He smiled, despite the storm still blowing. Somehow, seeing that that beacon... he knew it was all going to be alright.
