.. You're friends?

[ There's a small pause, and then, as if he feels like his question wasn't clear enough - or maybe didn't convey his surprise well enough. ]

With your teachers?

[goingthroughaphase]

[ She raises a brow at that. ] Yeah? I mean, it's not like I'd go to the movies with them or anything. But I'm pretty close with the teachers at the institute I go to.

[flatteries]

[ Inigo looks like he's trying really hard to mentally process this fact. ]

So.. then they must be nice people. Right? [ Kitty is a good person, after all! Not to mention tough in her own way. Surely she wouldn't put up with being friends with a bunch of mean adults. ]

[goingthroughaphase]

[ With a smile, she nods. ] They are, yeah. One of them can seem a bit...grumpy sometimes, but he's still a good guy.

And they've all helped me through a lot.

[flatteries]

You're lucky, Kitty.

[ A smile returns to his face. ]

I can't even imagine being close with teachers. Well, not that mine wasn't a good man when it came down to it, I suppose, but he was still.. [ Inigo's voice trails off, and he slightly shakes his head with a wry laugh, like he can't even find the right word for it. ] But I'm still glad you were surrounded with good people. You deserve to be!

And hopefully the same counts for this place, right? Even if some of the people here may be.. old-fashioned.

[ He can make a slight joke about himself, okay. He can take it. ]

[goingthroughaphase]

[ She giggles softly. ] Well, the people I've met so far have been pretty great.

[flatteries]

Me included?

[ There's that certain Look on Inigo's face. It's recognizable, because it's really just the kind of expression a dog makes when it's trying really hard to be good so you'll praise it. ]

[goingthroughaphase]

[ She smiles warmly. ] Of course, silly. We're friends, after all.

[flatteries]

[ His smile widens.

And - probably partially since she's not wearing that swimsuit yet and he can still do this without absolutely dying - he then reaches out, wrapping his arms around her in a warm, friendly hug. One that's maybe just a tad too excited, but then again, that's how Inigo's emotions just work. Always just a tad too much. ]

Oh, Kitty! You're right, we're great friends! I'm so glad to have met you here, you know that, right?

[goingthroughaphase]

[ The hug does take her by surprise, but she manages a laugh as she hugs him back. ]

Yeah, I'm glad I've gotten to meet you too.
