"That's true," Bucky agrees with a chuckle. "But if I ever miss the cue, feel free to prod me," he even flashes a grin as he turns his attention back to the drawers, pulling out a pair of purple swim trunks and checking the size tag to make sure they'll fit.

"You can count on that," Eva says with a smirk. "But hopefully it never comes to that."

The fact that Inigo picks that to be most confused about has Bucky laughing. "Well, because they're on the grill," he teased with a grin. "Don't worry, don't worry. It's like... a kind of sausage, I guess. Made of beef, grilled to perfection. Then you put on some mustard, a little kraut," he groaned. "It has been too long since I've had a good, old-fashioned New York dog."

There's that brief moment where Bucky is teasing him, keeping up the joke rather than explaining.

And Inigo's eyes only grow wider. Look, he's hunted a lot of animals to eat them, but not dogs! It's a wild idea to him that in Bucky's world they just casually throw them on the gri...

.. oh.

It's a joke.

Inigo's expression drops to a pout, unable to believe he just fell for that. Or that his big brother over here would pull such a cruel prank. (Sure, it's offset by the fact that Bucky is heading to the hot springs with him now to make him feel less alone and embarrassed there, but still!)

"You do know I could never eat them now, right? Even if I ever visit your world!" He'll forever think about dogs on the grill! Why do you have to ruin this for him, Bucky. "It sounds like this New York place has a lot of unique kinds of food though, since you mentioned the pizza there last time."

"Because it's fun," he replied with a lopsided smile. "You remember what that is, right?" He teased, flashing her a little grin and crumbles the damp sand in his hand, letting it plop back into the hole before he starts pulling the wet sand together, starting to form a shape down in it.

"Clams are little creatures that live in the sand. You can dig them up and cook them. They have hard shells that are shiny on the inside, and some people make jewelry with them."

"Ew." She says, wrinkling her nose and smiling. "And I think laying in the sun is fun. I don't have schooling to do, or worse accounting." She pulls a face. She hates accounting. "Plus, I don't have to entertain people, though I miss my lute. So this is fun! Not as fun as helping Freema cook, but... fun enough."

Senku barked a bit of a laugh. "Yeah, I could see the valid argument, but that comes from within and less something humans invented with their ingenuity. Communication can change the tide of battle, especially if your enemy doesn't have it."

"That's an interesting question! The petrification has an interesting side effect. The process of being petrified and depetrified causes a regeneration in the cells meaning that any injuries or illness is completely healed." Senku grinned.

"Isn't that fascinating? It doesn't work for genetic conditions, like say, poor eyesight. I have so many questions, it's exciting."

"I'm intending on going from the stone age back into space, so I don't see how that's a lot different." He chuckled, wildly amused. "I'm still intending on getting into space, it's just a matter of time."

"Motivation, huh? That's kind of...something I'll leave to someone else. I'm not always good at that, unless people tell me." Senku hummed. Despite admitting that he wasn't terribly easy to trick or gullible, but he tended to take people at their word. That was just always a calculated risk.

"I don't have one millimetre of interest in traveling in time. Sure, there's a lot of cool things I could experience. I could meet some of my heroes, try and change history which wouldn't work anyway, and even if you tried chaos theory would take over. The smallest changes can have the greatest unintended effects." Senku explained, without thinking about it. "I could see my dad again, only it wouldn't be real. Time travel isn't for me, but I'm more interested in everything else you could get from that knowledge."

"Understanding other aspects of the universe always leads to more discoveries, more knowledge, some of the most amazing things come from one thing or another." Senku smiled at that.

"There's technology knowledge I have now that I have no intention of using, or telling people how to use." Senku admitted. Nothing mundane, but there were certain weapons that he wouldn't be interested in.

"But-" He held up a finger. "No matter what I do, no matter what I don't teach people, humans will probably find their way back to the discoveries. Human nature is fascinating like that. I might be the most knowledgeable guy around in my world, due to a lack of population, but basic knowledge has let Chrome run wild. The things he comes up with, they've been done before, but he doesn't know that. Innovation is easy for some people."

"I want to see that." Senku agreed eagerly, as if skeletons and scans were the most interesting things to look at it. What could he say? He had strange interests.

He hummed at the thought of bioenergy. "I'm not entirely clear what you mean by that." He admitted, but it would be interesting to learn more, he figured that he might pick up more as time went on.

He looked at the new pokemon. It was huge, which was something unexpected and he leaned back, looking wide-eyed at it. It also looked like a reptile maybe? With plants? Fascinating.

"What makes it a grass type, exactly, the plants?" He gestured at the hologram with his fingers.

"Who knows?" She was almost finished with her bag, though she couldn't say when that had happened, and started buckling it up. Was it better? She could say yes with some certainty, even if she missed the others, and missed the immediate feeling of progress... really, they'd never gotten anywhere.

"Guess it feels like we're doing something more worthwhile here, getting somewhere, even if we don't know where that is. ... Having beds is pretty great."

She took a moment to consider that as a standard of life quality, and shook her head. "How about you? You prefer it here, off the job?"

WangJi kept one arm out for him to grab onto in case he needed to as he got balanced on the sword. WangJi had been doing this enough and had a strong enough bond with his sword that it was easy to compensate for the extra person.

"Alright."

And then, the ground will start moving beneath them as the sword begins to move. Not immediately fast so Romeo was not caught off guard by the movement, but the sword would start heading towards the water. It would be a good way to see fish.

"Then I hope I'll see you at one tonight," Bucky replied with a grin, heading in the direction of the water already, eager to get his feet into that sand. He hadn't even bothered to bring so much as a pair of flip flops along. "I'm gonna see if I can't dig up some clams."

Colden nodded. "I look forward to it," he said. He trailed a half-step behind Bucky, looking around as he walked. "Clams?" he repeated, "Like, for eating?" Gross.

"Yeah... that's one of the things I like about you," Bucky chuckled. "You don't understand what it's like to go to war, but you still understand me anyway." Was he blushing? He might've been blushing, just a touch.

He hesitated, unintentionally letting the silence draw out and become a little awkward. "Maybe sometime before the next mission... would you wanna paint my arm?" he offered.

Bucky liked things about him? That feeling fluttered again in his chest. If he was brave, this would have been a moment when he'd go in for a kiss. But he wasn't that brave, and he wasn't sure how soon was too soon in this situation where they'd all been kidnapped and thrown together.

He blinked a few times when Bucky spoke again, taking a moment to process that and let it sink in. "Huh? Oh. You'd--" he had a feeling this had something to do with trust, maybe. "I'd love to. I mean, I'm not much of an artist, but...yeah."

[Bucky lets out a sigh of relief. Of all the pieces of his life she could've seen, that one's... tame. Safe.] Yeah, it was. From a few hours before I found myself on a train platform in the middle of nowhere. I'm Bucky Barnes. [He offers her his flesh hand for a shake, and a faint smile.] You must be pretty tough, to come out of a fight like that in one piece.

Kitty Pryde. And I'm not even sure I'd say we really came out of it. The last thing I remember was getting knocked out, and then I woke up on the platform. I don't even know how the others fared after that.

She tries to imagine it, both above and below. Her imagination runs wild.

"How did you get around, if it was always dark in the slums?" A strange question to ask, given her circumstances, but she can't help it. She assumes it's dark there, if there's a huge piece of metal blocking out the sky above an entire city.

It seems ridiculous. How much metal would you need for that? How would you get it up there?

"How did they build it? Did Shinra do it?" Maybe, if they live in the centre of the city. Why would you build a huge metal city and then not live in the middle of it, in the biggest building? Oh! "What's a meteor?"

Something was going on. Something he was missing. It made him feel... odd. He wasn't a part of this conversation, at least it felt that way, even with Tidus trying to include him. It seemed like more of a jab at Inigo than a genuine offer to himself.

Gerome started to shake his head, but then stopped when Inigo jumped up and looked at him like that. Surely Inigo should know that wasn't going to work on him? Perhaps, if he was inclined, he could occasionally allow himself to be swayed. But Gerome didn't quite feel that same inclination at that moment in time.

"Can you even cook, Inigo?" He had to ask before agreeing to anything. The last thing he wanted was to be made sick. He glanced at Tidus and back again. "Where are you getting the yeast? I saw none in the stores."

Is Inigo doing this again to him? There's a flat stare sent on Inigo's direction, a sliver of (dramatic) disapproval left over in the side-pull of Tidus's mouth. It eases some though before Gerome speaks to him, his uncertainty--or maybe, disinterest? More like that--not lost on Tidus, or so what he thinks, though easing at the question given to him.

"Y'sure? It's by the flours and rice. But it's in a smaller container with a lid, not a bag. Most of it goes into the lower kitchen, away from the ovens. It's where people put the flours and that so they're not carrying from out of the stores each time."

It'd be easy to miss them, Tidus figures, so he doesn't think much of the question. But adds on, with a nod to Inigo:

"I'll be watching him, and he's gonna learn off another guy too!"
