"Lots and lots." He grinned, looking around though he had to be very careful to stay balanced, the fact he was a shinki helped, his body could jump high and balance better than a human one.

"I bet it's really fun to be a fish, you got a whole big ocean to swim in and lots and lots of friends."

WangJi was used to balancing on his sword and did offer an arm in case Romeo found the need to hold onto him. Luckily, they were not high in the air. If he should fall, he did not have far to go to reach the water.

WangJi thought about that for a moment. "It must be. It seems like it would be nice."

"It would be!" He grinned, "Fish don't talk but do you think they can understand each other. In bubbles?"

Or did they not need words to be friends?

WangJi thought about it for a moment. "Perhaps... body language? The way they act around each other."

Rabbits were kind of the same way. If one was on alert, then it was likely that others would as well.

"That's probably it! Body Language!"

He peered down again, as if he could see what the fish were doing, how they were communicating through their bodies.

"They must be really smart!"

"It is the most I can think of. Many animals are able to do that. My rabbits can communicate with each other without sound."

He smiled, watching the fish swim around as well.

"They are. Maybe not in ways we understand, but they are."

"It's hard for people to understand them though!" He smiled as well, "When I'm a weasel it's tricky because some people don't understand what I'm trying to say at all!"

It must be even harder for fish! They don't even have paws. Or noses that can wriggle.

"I suppose it is. I have only learned to understand my rabbits from many years with them and even then, I am not always sure."

He couldn't help the very slight eyebrow raise at the comment about being a weasel.

"Are you a weasel often?"

"Only when Elfnein needs me to be." He says with a smile, "I'm not one so much here because we don't got to fight bad ayakashi, but sometimes when bad things happen it is good to be a weasel because I can help keep people's spirits up!"

"I see. Well, that is good then that you are not required to become one often, except if you want to."

Probably one of the few things WangJi can safely say he will never experience, turning into a weasel.

He nods, "I don't mind it, I like helping people feel better. But it is a bit tricky not having hands."

He grinned, "Do you got lots of rabbits sir?"

"That is kind of you, wanting to help people. I would imagine that yes, having no hands makes it difficult." He smiled faintly at that.

"I have one here at the moment." Clearly he is planning for another. "Back home, I have a warren of rabbits on the back mountain that is large enough to be impossible to count."

"Wow!" That was a lot of rabbits! "I hope you get another one soon so your rabbit doesn't get lonely!"

He doesn't want the rabbit to be sad! "Did you buy it in the shop?"

"I am planning on it. I want to have a friend for Little Rabbit. He does have us, but it would be nice if there was companionship when we are on missions."

He nodded his head. "Yes, Wei Ying purchased Little Rabbit from the shop."

"It would be! And if he had another rabbit he might like that more than just people." Not that people were bad, but rabbits were bound to be sad if there were no other rabbits at all!

"Is Wei Ying your friend? Does he look after Little Rabbit with you?"

"Yes, I'm sure he would. My rabbits back home were happy to see me, but they were content with each other."

He nodded. "Wei Ying is my husband. Wei WuXian. Ying is his birth name. He does help me look after Little Rabbit."

"Oh I know mister Wei Wuxian!" He grinned, "He helped me in the last mission! He's really nice."

Romeo had been at their wedding as well, but he hadn't known either of them very well at the time!

"He is very nice." But then again, WangJi was at least a little bit biased on that. He had known WuXian a very long time and he was always trying to look after people and take care of them.

"When I was a teenager, he was the one who gave my first rabbits so he is the reason I have the warren."

"Wow and he gave you a rabbit here too! He must think you and rabbits go together really well!"

It was good Lan Wangji had rabbit friends, and the rabbits had such a good person to look after them!

"He does. I like rabbits."

And he took good care of the rabbits. Even his massive warren was well taken care of.

"I will have to introduce you to Little Rabbit soon."

"I'd like that sir!"

He smiles, "I'd like to meet him, I can take him some food. Rabbits like carrots right?"

"Then we will arrange for to meet him."

He nodded. "They do. They also like leafy vegetables and herbs. I usually give him herbs for a snack. He seems to like that. My rabbits back home do as well."

"That sounds yummy! When I meet him I'll make sure to bring him some herbs and carrots!"

After all it was a nice thing to take gifts when you met someone for the first time!

"He would like that."

Yes, it was only right to bring gifts when meeting someone. He often counted animals among that if they were a family pet or meant something to the other.

Romeo grinned and then turned back to look at the fish again, wobbling slightly but quickly finding his balance.

"Thank you sir, for bringing me out here, it's very pretty!"
