"And...what's the promise?" Tidus asks. Not knowing if that was a dumb or personal question, but- he wasn't really sure about what one would promise.

"Well...God had reached out to a man, who we consider the forefather of our religion, asking that man to believe in Him as the one true God, and to worship Him and only Him. In return, God had promised to give him an endless number of descendants - essentially promising that his people would be prosperous."

There was a lot more to it than that, but that was the general idea.

"Oh, so... believe in Him, and you'll have a good life? That's not so bad."

A lot better than everything in Spira. It was a little funny--not in any particular humorous way. Peculiar maybe. But rather nice, maybe.

"So there's a lot of Gods around where you are." And that makes him pause, add, "Do you see them?"

Which earns a tilted brow when he remembers what Kitty's said about her world -- people not liking those who have special abilities. But then, where did Gods fit into that?

She shook her head. "Not the God that my people believe. I think in some other religions, other gods can take different forms. But the God we believe in hasn't taken a physical form. That's part of having faith, though; believing despite not having seen Him yet."
