For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. If they have headphones from the music room they can make it so they work like earpieces.

[Halfway through what Nita feels is the amount of work she's going to get done this week - she may be resting regularly, but her arms are sore from carrying Huma chicks! - she places a call she's been looking forward to.]

Inigo! How are you? How's the mission going for you all back on the ground?

[Much as there's been some cause for concern these days, Nita still manages to inject some humor into her last question.]

[ So much cause for concern. And Inigo sure has been concerned - about plenty of things. It feels like it's driving him crazy, though he can't help but want to seem cheerful in the face of Nita trying to speak with good humor. He can't drag her down with him. ]

It's going well enough. [ He forces the kind of positivity he just can't bring himself to feel right now into his tone. ] I've just been hunting, trying to get some meat to bring with us back to the train-- but others have been dealing with the golems.

How about up there, huh?

The crystal-picking's going smoothly enough; some of us have managed to get on the wrong side of the Huma birds-

[Ahem, Senku...]

But for the most part we're all doing our best.

[And then she sighs, because that 'most' carries a lot more weight today than it did at mission start.]

I know we're missing people, though. On all the teams.

We won't know for sure where they are until next platform, though. We have to remember that.

[Also a reminder for Inigo that he's not carrying that stress alone!]

Hmm.

[ There's that small sound of acknowledgement. Just because it feels like the easiest way to reply for now. Then it might not seem as suspicious that he needs a few more moments for his brain to think of what would be the best way to answer here. ]

I'm sorry, Nita.

[ And the answer his brain reaches is very much the same as usually. Divert. Make this conversation about anything but himself.

After all, how can he just say that it feels like he's stuck in quicksand and everything he does only makes him screw up and drive himself further into it? That Gerome disappearing feels like it's pushing him under? ]

Is anyone you know well missing..? I could keep out an eye for them, in case something odd is up with the train and they may end up reappearing here.

[Nita can't shake her head over the comm, but she wishes she could.]

... I don't think so.

And I'm not even sure where the train is; if it flew off again, we wouldn't know if they could even rejoin us during mission time.

[They'd be able to answer the SCA, though. That's the kicker, here.

She almost suggests outright that she come visit, but pressuring Inigo does not strike her as the best way to get him to talk about things at this time.]

Yes, I know. [ If they're wake up in the suitcases like usually, they'd be stuck on the train, wherever it is. ] That's why I said in case something odd is up. I mean, so many people disappeared at once-- that has never happened on a mission before on this scale. Since it's so odd, they may just pop up right back here in this world with us, or..

[ Inigo stops. He can feel his throat getting so tight, and thought he knows Nita thankfully won't be able to see it when he cries, Inigo still knows he has to keep any and all signs of it out of his voice in case the tears really start to flow.

They feel so dangerously close to it right now. Come on, Inigo. Stop thinking about Gerome. Stop wishing he'd just reappear back at your side again out of nowhere.

But of course that just makes his mind drift off to his next most pressing worry. ]

Nita, ah-- I.. I know this is a change of subject, I'm sorry.. But I just.. I was wondering.. Have you spoken to Tidus at all? Is he alright? [ Even if Inigo has heard him talk over the SCAs, he trusts Nita's opinion on this more than he could gather from that talk. ]

You think something on this world could be targeting us?

[The thought was chilling, for more reasons than just having people disappear normally did.

Nita's grateful for the subject change as much as Inigo is.]

Not yet, no. But I'm going to, you have my word.

[Presuming he even picks up - that he wants to talk.]

[ Inigo's silence is probably more telling than any words could be in this situation. After all, usually he would be so quick to deny that. He'd cover it up, reassuring Nita that it's probably not the case, that they should stay hopeful.

But right now.. he can't. It's completely possible. This many people disappearing at once on a mission is new, and the fact that Gerome of all people is involved in it is driving Inigo crazy. He doesn't want to say yes, doesn't want to worry Nita, but him staying quiet is practically the same as admitting it.

Instead he sucks in a breath, trying to focus on the other thing she says, even though it feels practically just as hard to talk about. But at least this is.. something good, right? At least this is useful. If he can still do anything at all to make Tidus feel better, even from a distance.. ]

Thank you, Nita. Really. [ He almost sounds desperate about it. Sure makes you wonder why he wouldn't just talk to Tidus himself, huh, but Inigo doesn't seem to mention anything about it. ] I'm sure he can use all company right now. It must be so difficult to have to go on a whole mission like this after he lost Yuna.. She was so important to him.

[... Given Tidus' state at the start of the month, Nita can't blame him for being on tenterhooks on that subject.]

Neither of you deserve this, Inigo. And whatever happened, it's not your fault.

Neither of your faults.

[Is that grammatically correct? Nita does not care.]

It is my fault though.

[ The words are so quiet that it's almost hard to tell whether or not they're really being said. But that definitely was a thought Inigo only now realises he voiced out loud, making his stomach tense up. ]

Ah-- Sorry, Nita. I have to go. I think there's a bear nearby. [ There's definitely not. ] I'll talk to you again sometime soon, okay? Um, thanks, and bye--

[ The way he cuts the feed is so rushed that that last word is not even really fully finished before the communication stops. ]

[Nita's response - reaction, more like - to those quiet words is loud, and definitely more abrupt than the rest of the conversation-]

Like the way Sven's leaving was my fault, somehow? Inigo, I-

[At which point Inigo makes his exit ~~pursued by a bear~~.

She catches herself, sighing into the empty comm, and hurriedly clicks it off.]
