Dawn Attack

It's been a busy few days of fighting demons, attacking keystones and fighting both on the demon and human planes. On the morning of day nine of the month of Kazoo a gate opens close to the base camp that the two teams have made.

It seems the demons have decided to focus on this unexpected threat, because it is a sizable force, with a number of the large demons. They march towards the camp with single-minded focus, the opportunity to stop these unwanted defenders taking precedence over their desire to destroy the city.

The advantage to the landscape being as ruined as it is, is that there isn't much to stop the lookouts from seeing this force headed towards them. A gate opening is not subtle. There should be enough time to make sure the defenders are ready.

Scouting Ahead

Once that skirmish is won those on the Red team will find their SCA's beeping, with an exclamation point far out to the east.

A group of demons is congregating at the location indicated. Investigate why, defeat the demons and close any gates nearby.

It will take a while to get there and there is plenty to do on the way for those that follow the exclamation point. Roaming packs of demons, gates to be closed. Exhausting work, especially for those going in and out of the demon gates.

Protecting the City

Once it is clear that these defenders are not going to be easy to wipe out, the attacks on the city itself get more frequent. The demons have changed tactics: rather than sending in large groups they open many small portals, sending small strike teams to harry and target individuals.

Some of the attacks are clearly meant as traps: they open the gates in or very close to the city, to lure the Voidtreckers in to where they will be affected by the spell. Ranged attacks may be useful here.

Well, Timcampy was certainly making it easy to follow him; Raven keeping pace easily.

He soon flew over to what seemed to be a body laying about. Upon closer look it turns out to be Allen and he is simply out cold.

At the sight of a body, Raven hurried her step. Already reaching out with Empathic senses--and breathing a sigh of relief as she verified he was alive. Just unconscious. Oh boy. "Don't suppose you can talk, huh?" Raven addressed Timcampy, as she moved to settle into a meditation pose.

Timcampy just fluttered above Allen. No he couldn't talk, he could record messages and play them back but he couldn't talk otherwise. But soon the little golden ball was curious and started to fly closer to the other.

Raven, meanwhile, was reaching out with Empathic senses. Just heightening her passive awareness for now--Allen seemed to be unconscious, and she didn't want to invade his privacy without a good reason. A basic scan would hopefully tell her where he was hurt, if he was hurt--or if he was just drained and tired.

"I'm trying to see if he's injured." Raven said, noticing Timcampy floating around her.

Timcampy soon fluttered down. Thankfully Allen himself while there might be some minor injures just as bruises and scratches he was otherwise fine and just ran out of energy.

The golem though soon flew down and landed next to him, the tail hitting the other's cheek very slightly. That was at least enough to caught movement.

"Tim...not now."

What Raven could sense, matched with exhaustion. Coming out of her meditation pose, she moved closer to Allen and gently shook his shoulder. "Hey. I need you to wake up enough that I can help you move to a better place to rest."

He moved his head slightly. He honestly didn't even remember falling asleep, so as he woke up a bit more and started to sit up and rub his eyes it took a moment or two to clock on to where he was.

"Ah, sorry. Did I fall asleep?"

"It must've been a deep sleep. Your little friend here was flying about in a panicked way."

"Ah, I guess I worried Timcampy." Which he knew tends to lead into... And the golden golem did exactly like he was anticipating. Baring its tiny little sharp teeth and seemed angry, going as far as to bite the boy causing him to flinch.

"I get it! I get it Timcampy. I'm sorry."
