The Will to Fight: Conclusion

The battles rage loud and ferocious at the gates of the city and off in the ruined wastelands of Erda, and on the walls a struggle of a different kind occurs. The team who stayed behind at the towers are small but determined as they move stoically across the walls to right the stones that have become misaligned, even as their friends battle not too far away.

The city begins to hum. It's a quiet hum, not loud enough to be heard out where the others are fighting but it vibrates even through stone. The recovering monks assure them that it is done, the wards are back up and no demon will be able to enter the city.

Eventually the battle is won, all three battles. The demons fought back and killed, a major blow to their gate system that will keep them back for hopefully a long time. Those waiting in the caverns return to the city and by the time they get there the illusions are gone. Everyone can see the world for what it really is.

But despite the ruins of their world the people are relieved, the adrenaline of the fight coursing through their veins and the mood is one of hope. They will build again, their people will survive.

All Voidtreckers please return to the Voidtrecker Express. Departure will be in a few hours

It has landed not too far from the city, cloaked to make it unnoticeable to the citizens, for all the good that does. No one has been particularly subtle this last week. People can begin regrouping, packing up the camp and getting any wounded not already healed to the train.

However roughly half an hour later another message appears on their SCA.

Passenger Persephone has requested we remain on system System #86525656412355 for an additional day to further assist the people of Erda. The Voidtrecker Express will depart on the morning of Day Fifteen of the month of Kazoo.

The train remains where it is, so the voidtreckers can use its facilities. There is definitely a lot that can be done to assist those of this world and the citizens will welcome any helping hands.

After an extra day they finally depart, returning to the void once more.

(OOC Note: Once the wards are up any characters who are demonic in nature will not be able to enter the city either!)

It might be a little bad to be happy at being thanked when she's this upset, huh? But Wormmon is glad, because it means he's helping.

"I'm Wormmon," he informs her, nuzzling a little. "What's your name?"

“I’m Nozomi. It’s nice to meet you, Wormmon.” She said, still hugging him. She was starting to feel better at this point, if only a little.

"This is a weird train, huh."

Wormmon likes the hug. The hug may continue. Sometimes talking helps when you're sad and sometimes it doesn't. He wants to get a feel for that.

"It really is, but there are such interesting people here and I'm glad I met them." Nozomi admitted.

"Are you new?"

That sounds like the sort of thing a new person would say! And Wormmon should know, because -

Oh, he perks up a little himself just getting to talk about this. "I'm new too. I got on the train with Ken-chan."

And WHAT could be more important than THAT?

“Yes. Yes, I am. Just joined with the recent group.” Nozomi said, nodding.

At the comment about who he came with, she had to ask about him. “Are you his partner or something?”

"Yeah!" Wormmon nods. "I'm Ken-chan's partner Digimon. Do you know about Digimon, Nozomi?"

It seems that not many people do, here.

“Digimon... Digimon... the name sounds familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it...”

Made by the same company, silly! Er, I mean...!

Shaking her head, Nozomi continued. “It sounds familiar, but I just can’t place it!”

Oh...she'd known about partners, so he'd thought, maybe. But ah well. As long as she understands partners, that's the important thing.

"That's okay. I've been learning new things too."

“Mm-hmm! So, what do you do?” Nozomi asked. She was curious about him now.

"Me?"

Oh, wow, this is a little embarrassing. Wormmon shifts in place.

"I protect Ken-chan. I follow him, and wait for him, and believe in him. Because I know. I know he's so kind!"

"So, you're like a guardian or something?" Nozomi asked. "That's actually pretty cool!"

"Is it?"

Wormmon cups his head in his top appendages. He knows he needs to thank her, but.... "Geheheheeeeee."

HE NEVER GETS CALLED COOL. THIS IS WONDERFUL.

Nozomi giggled at Wormmon's reaction. He's embarrassed! It's so cute!"

Now Wormmon is curling up cutely at being giggled at for being cute! A vicious cycle.

...Okay, he's better now. "I'm glad I got to come with Ken-chan. Everyone's nice."
