The Will to Fight: Conclusion
The battles rage loud and ferocious at the gates of the city and off in the ruined wastelands of Erda, and on the walls a struggle of a different kind occurs. The team who stayed behind at the towers are small but determined as they move stoically across the walls to right the stones that have become misaligned, even as their friends battle not too far away.
The city begins to hum. It's a quiet hum, not loud enough to be heard out where the others are fighting but it vibrates even through stone. The recovering monks assure them that it is done, the wards are back up and no demon will be able to enter the city.
Eventually the battle is won, all three battles. The demons fought back and killed, a major blow to their gate system that will keep them back for hopefully a long time. Those waiting in the caverns return to the city and by the time they get there the illusions are gone. Everyone can see the world for what it really is.
But despite the ruins of their world the people are relieved, the adrenaline of the fight coursing through their veins and the mood is one of hope. They will build again, their people will survive.
All Voidtreckers please return to the Voidtrecker Express. Departure will be in a few hours
It has landed not too far from the city, cloaked to make it unnoticeable to the citizens, for all the good that does. No one has been particularly subtle this last week. People can begin regrouping, packing up the camp and getting any wounded not already healed to the train.
However roughly half an hour later another message appears on their SCA.
Passenger Persephone has requested we remain on system System #86525656412355 for an additional day to further assist the people of Erda. The Voidtrecker Express will depart on the morning of Day Fifteen of the month of Kazoo.
The train remains where it is, so the voidtreckers can use its facilities. There is definitely a lot that can be done to assist those of this world and the citizens will welcome any helping hands.
After an extra day they finally depart, returning to the void once more.
(OOC Note: Once the wards are up any characters who are demonic in nature will not be able to enter the city either!)

That is to say, Tidus manages to rest the side of the barrow's handle against a wall, a sheepish laugh as he comes over to join Prompto. Ugh, look at all these nails-
"You too! Didn't get too friendly with those demons, did ya? Just friendly enough?"
Hah- while it's good to see the other guy looking well (as well as most of them currently out and about), he's not surprised to see him up and about either. He was good to work with back on Red Team.
no subject
Prompto chuckled a little bit at the assessment, scooping up a hunk of what looked like rock and tossing it back into the wheelbarrow. "Uh, maybe a little too friendly?" He grinned.
"One of them kinda chomped on me a bit, but I got better!" He was all healed up during the fight, he's fine, maybe.
"And some big thing sprayed me with goo and then I kinda crashed but you know, we survived."
no subject
"We save taking a bite outta you for the second date where I'm from," he grins wryly, a chuckle vibrating from his throat. He scoops up a good portion of nails, throwing in bits of rock himself and dirt, but nevermind that. More like, mind his now dirt(ier) hands. "Sounds like fun. You know, 'Gotta take a few bumps and scratches to make it out the other side' type of fun."
It's a very specific category for Tidus, see.
"You see anything like a giant...something, trying to get out a portal?"
no subject
He grinned brightly, he wasn't that put out by getting injured. "Yeah, I mean, it was pretty heavy as far as these things go, but if you don't die then...great!"
"Uhhh, nope. I saw a giant that spewed some kinda goo all over me. It was pretty gross." He said, admittedly that was the worst part. "I think I was already passed out when that happened."
no subject
Which was the positive here. Tidus thinks they've gotten most of the nails between them and he stands up, a few last stray ones in his head to deposit.
"You worked hard too! You got any stuff you wanna buy when the points get added? No way you won't get something for joining in that last fight."
Even if the train was weird about how it decided on those things.
no subject
"Hmmmm, well...I'm pretty sure there's a chocobo plush with my name on it!"
He could get that, right?
no subject
He knows he does, but Tidus hasn't exactly ever thought about getting anything like that. ...though, they are cute...
"You don't have anything special you really miss?"
no subject
Prompto thought about it. "Well I mean, my fatigues are probably more durable than these clothes. I wrecked two shirts already! This was just my first mission!" He exclaimed.
"But apart from that, just more guns. I kinda only have the stuff I was roadtripping with. I'm not even sure my apartment's still standing in Insomnia."
no subject
The war. He remembers hearing about it, who from? Ignis? Others? His friendly expression softens some, but it does lighten a moment, if subdued.
"You can get stuff from home!" Tidus shares, gesturing to himself. "I did too - my whole city's gone too! But I got a photo framer - all the pictures were in it! So whatever happened...it doesn't matter with the shop!"
no subject
"It's not like I had a nice apartment." Prompto chuckled. "But it's true that I had pictures that would be nice to have again. Mostly for blackmail, you know." He grinned.
"I had my photos all over my place. I..some of them I was pretty proud of." He said, this time a little more shy. "I'm a photographer you know."
no subject
"Show me sometime, then. You got your camera with you? In that doohicky space you bring out all your weapons in?" Hammer-what-space? "There's some spare ones on the train. Don't know how good they're for top notch photo-shooting, though."
no subject
The fact they'd had a real tough time with demons didn't matter much, he lived on Eos after all.
"The memory card that's in it only has the pictures from our roadtrip though, I mean, I can't carry all the embarrassing pictures of us when we were fifteen around, can I?"
no subject
But if it's taken by a guy who actually cares about his photographs? Tidus might like it even more. He has a fondness for scenery.
"We can save the embarrassing ones for another day."
no subject
He was the best friend.
