The Will to Fight: Conclusion
The battles rage loud and ferocious at the gates of the city and off in the ruined wastelands of Erda, and on the walls a struggle of a different kind occurs. The team who stayed behind at the towers are small but determined as they move stoically across the walls to right the stones that have become misaligned, even as their friends battle not too far away.
The city begins to hum. It's a quiet hum, not loud enough to be heard out where the others are fighting but it vibrates even through stone. The recovering monks assure them that it is done, the wards are back up and no demon will be able to enter the city.
Eventually the battle is won, all three battles. The demons fought back and killed, a major blow to their gate system that will keep them back for hopefully a long time. Those waiting in the caverns return to the city and by the time they get there the illusions are gone. Everyone can see the world for what it really is.
But despite the ruins of their world the people are relieved, the adrenaline of the fight coursing through their veins and the mood is one of hope. They will build again, their people will survive.
All Voidtreckers please return to the Voidtrecker Express. Departure will be in a few hours
It has landed not too far from the city, cloaked to make it unnoticeable to the citizens, for all the good that does. No one has been particularly subtle this last week. People can begin regrouping, packing up the camp and getting any wounded not already healed to the train.
However roughly half an hour later another message appears on their SCA.
Passenger Persephone has requested we remain on system System #86525656412355 for an additional day to further assist the people of Erda. The Voidtrecker Express will depart on the morning of Day Fifteen of the month of Kazoo.
The train remains where it is, so the voidtreckers can use its facilities. There is definitely a lot that can be done to assist those of this world and the citizens will welcome any helping hands.
After an extra day they finally depart, returning to the void once more.
(OOC Note: Once the wards are up any characters who are demonic in nature will not be able to enter the city either!)

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Most missions tend to last a while, right? At least a week or so.
[ And it's not like it's just any average week. Usually these missions have them doing the most tedious things - like fighting entire hordes or monsters, or swimming underwater for a long while.
Or sometimes both. God, Alice hasn't forgotten how annoying that mission was.. ]
And where I come from, most people can't go without sleep for a week.

[He could think of maybe one person who was oddly capable, but... Poor Miranda she had her reasons.]
I find I rest easier though when there isn't a lot going on.

But surely a guy like you must know that it's not always possible to live in those circumstances.
[ Surely he knows that there's often something going on. Or a lot going on. Allen fought like this back home too, right? Then there must have been plenty of times where he had to sleep, even though they were in the middle of a busy situation. ]
So you just have to get used to sleeping, even when things are on edge.

[He's also traveled way to much to also know it's much harder to actually find a time when it's calmer. But at the same time, he knows he wouldn't sleep when it's too chaotic. There is a set level between the two, however.]
One has to find the perfect balance. But that is sometimes much easier said than done since that balance is different for each person.

So, with the lack of a true solution, the best she can offer up at the moment - especially since the mission is done already and she doesn't have to be as serious - is a deadpan remark. ]
Should I just knock you out then, next time you ought to rest?
no subject
[He would rather try and at least sleep by himself. So he gives a slightly awkward laugh.]
But it also means you should really rest yourself.

[ Alice did rest during the mission, after all. She's not about to work more than she has to for the mission - and even if she wanted to do more, those demon portals really suck the life out of a person. She's fairly sure it forced just about anyone on the red team to have to rest every now and then. ]

Just like you are now. Though with taking care of myself, I should maybe see if I can get something to eat first before resting.
no subject
Allen does eat a lot, doesn't he. ]
I saw some of the townspeople handing out food for our help. [ She gestures with her head in a direction outside of the livestock area she's sitting in. ] Go see if you can get some. I will see you again later on the train, once we depart.
no subject
[He knows he can only eat a small amount, but he knew that would at least be enough for the time being. At least till they could get back onto the train and he could eat what he actually needed to thanks to all the calories he burned off this time.]
I'll see you on the train when it's time, we could maybe do something relaxing. Always tea or something again.
