The Will to Fight: Conclusion

The battles rage loud and ferocious at the gates of the city and off in the ruined wastelands of Erda, and on the walls a struggle of a different kind occurs. The team who stayed behind at the towers are small but determined as they move stoically across the walls to right the stones that have become misaligned, even as their friends battle not too far away.

The city begins to hum. It's a quiet hum, not loud enough to be heard out where the others are fighting but it vibrates even through stone. The recovering monks assure them that it is done, the wards are back up and no demon will be able to enter the city.

Eventually the battle is won, all three battles. The demons fought back and killed, a major blow to their gate system that will keep them back for hopefully a long time. Those waiting in the caverns return to the city and by the time they get there the illusions are gone. Everyone can see the world for what it really is.

But despite the ruins of their world the people are relieved, the adrenaline of the fight coursing through their veins and the mood is one of hope. They will build again, their people will survive.

All Voidtreckers please return to the Voidtrecker Express. Departure will be in a few hours

It has landed not too far from the city, cloaked to make it unnoticeable to the citizens, for all the good that does. No one has been particularly subtle this last week. People can begin regrouping, packing up the camp and getting any wounded not already healed to the train.

However roughly half an hour later another message appears on their SCA.

Passenger Persephone has requested we remain on system System #86525656412355 for an additional day to further assist the people of Erda. The Voidtrecker Express will depart on the morning of Day Fifteen of the month of Kazoo.

The train remains where it is, so the voidtreckers can use its facilities. There is definitely a lot that can be done to assist those of this world and the citizens will welcome any helping hands.

After an extra day they finally depart, returning to the void once more.

(OOC Note: Once the wards are up any characters who are demonic in nature will not be able to enter the city either!)

There are several 'stop it's at Bulma's fussing, though Vegeta doesn't stop her in doing so, knowing it would only lead to more anger from her and more shouting at him being a pain to her, rather than the other way around. Even a reassurance of, "It's not my blood." Didn't seem to help, and despite his complaining Vegeta goes along with it until Bulma seems satisfied that he was fine. Really, it's just a bit, or a lot, of blood. If he had lost this much he wouldn't be standing here right now...

There's then a huff of annoyance at Bulma's comment about him, even if it was pretty much fitting for how Vegeta normally is, he crossing his arms once she allowed him to move again. "He's one of Trunks' friends." As if that short comment cleared everything up.

Oh no. They're cute. Devero is reminded viscerally of seeing Techstead's cybersurgeon fussing over her wife. There had been no mistaking the love disguised in the sharp words and the exasperations, and he doesn't think he's mistaking love here, either.

He keeps that thought to himself, of course. He can't sneak away now that Bulma's noticed him, so he folds his hands together and bows a little towards her. "Ah, yes. Hello. My name's Devero," he says, not disguising his nerves terribly well. Has Trunks mentioned him to her, like he's said he might?

"--I came over to see if the blood was his as well, actually," he adds with a nod at Vegeta.

"That just sheds so much light on the situation, honey." Bulma says, sarcastic as always, eyes rolling. Leave it to Vegeta to have a conversation and not do introductions, or probably forget the other person's name a moment later if they aren't a certain fighter or something. She knows her husband a little too well not to think of things like this.

Devero introduces himself and Bulma gives an automatic 'oh!' of recognition, nodding her head in recognition. "Trunks keeps telling me that we need to talk but.. we've been busy since we arrived." Missions, all of it. It wasn't as if Bulma was ever able to really stop and smell the roses, but then add in the mix this entire situation.. well. Bulma as well as Vegeta and Trunks have all been running around more and more.

"Well, there's one set of armor we're going to have to order for you, mn?" Bulma sighs toward Vegeta, lowly, annoyed that she can't just make a new one as she had been able to before.

"We used to be able to make them, but of course, we're in the stone age now with this train, so.."

Bulma's little barb is instantly and easily ignored, happy to leave her to socialize with Devero. Look, he's Trunks' friend, not Vegeta's, so his name really isn't that important right now. He does at least show he's acknowledging her with the second comment, "It's fine, stop fussing. I've still got several left, even if they are of older designs." And thus not as good as the current one he was wearing.

Ok, enough about armor. It's not like complaining about it is going to change anything, and he was in the middle of talking when Bulma had made herself known, Vegeta's focus returning to Devero. "What does the military model do?" And on that line of questioning. "And if the one you're using relies on a system from your world, how is it even efficient without it being in the correct environment?"
