The Endless River
On the morning of day twenty one of the month of Kazoo there is a message on the ICP screens around the train. Their SCA's will light up the colour of the Void and show the following information.
On-board
The dressing carriage is open, filled with clothing best suited to a pleasant spring day. Light, airy and in a rainbow of joyful colours and florals. One closet is entirely filled with wide-brimmed hats bedecked with ribbons, feathers and ornaments. A stack of picnic baskets and containers filled with an alarming variety of passenger-suitable foodstuffs and flasked drinks sits in one corner, next to rolls of thick, weatherproof blankets in the four team colours.
The large box marked Do Not Use Yet, filled with small, empty jute bags, is hopefully still sat in the Luggage carriage, ready for passengers to grab handfuls of its contents as directed by the announcement.
Upon landing (after an appropriate countdown), the train remains on the surface, its carriages partially curved to form a gathering site for the day. Welcome to Tshering, the eighth void nexus!
A Day for Picnics
Tshering, system #398050, is a strange place, only habitable by grace of the passengers' SCAs. The sky is shot through with colours, a cascade of sunsets, and through it, the void shimmering through it in seams like a child's painting of the milky way. Still, there's a beauty to the chaotic mash of colours that soaks through its landscape, and in the shelter of the forests of towering funghi that dot its surface, the Void can go unseen by its visitors.
The temperature seems mild, suitable for the provided clothing, and if there are weather patterns around the world they've taken the day off. The funghi are sturdy enough that what air flow there is doesn't disturb their stalks, and carved grooves and holds in some of the larger examples indicate that climbing them to sit atop their glowing crowns is eminently possible, and, in fact, encouraged.
the Endless River
The Endless River is a font of pure chaos, flowing from a multitude of small rivulets across the area to a central reservoir, from which it pours directly upwards, away from Tshering's surface and out of sight, beyond the world's atmosphere.
Anything bagged and placed within the Endless River will also flow upwards and soon be out of sight, passing, presumably, into the Void. Scattered across the surface of Tshering are small, glittering pebbles, as described in the announcement.
The stones are pleasantly cool to the touch, and all passengers need to do is feel. Messages can be in any form that the Voidtreckers wish. Perhaps words, perhaps feelings, perhaps an image from their mind into the stone. Perhaps a mixture. Once they begin their message the stone will glow slightly and continue to glow as they secure it in the bag and cast it into the river. They will feel, almost instinctively, that they need to focus as they do so, thinking of the person they wish to reach all the while.
There are plenty of bags and many more stones; passengers will not be limited in their sendings.
World #398050 is a void nexus known locally as Tshering. As a void nexus this world has strong links with the void and the connection through worlds. World #398050 is home to the Endless River. Legends speak of this river being powerful enough to send thoughts from one heart to another across any distance. All that is needed is for you to know who it is you wish to reach.

Now Matsuda-kun will know he's an awful, judgmental person. Ken's cheeks burn in shame. Accepting even the ugly parts of yourself is a lot easier when they don't have the potential to hurt others.

He has to start from the beginning, doesn't he. Ken reaches for a paper plate, setting it out as a demonstration, and gestures for both Takato and Guilmon to watch. (Wormmon comes over too. Ken-chan is going to do the walking-encyclopedia thing, isn't he? Yippee!)
"Listen. Different types of food have different effects on the body. Bread digests quickly without lasting benefits, so you want to limit the quantity to about this much per meal, proportionally."
He takes a roll and breaks off the appropriate portion. If he thinks of his plate as a pie chart...
"Properly fueling a body requires about this many vegetables, for minerals and nutrients - " Here is some salad. " - and this much meat, for stamina." Sandwich. Since he already has some bread on the plate, he'll remove the top to make it open-faced.
"The specific quantities vary based on physical activity and a number of other factors, but that's the basics." Oh, and....
Ken adds a water bottle to his sample meal. "You hydrate properly too, right?"

"So... I need to give Guilmon more vegetables?"
Guilmon, meanwhile, comes to a very different conclusion that nearly has him in tears.
"Guilmon can't eat bread any more?"

What has Ken DONE. He has to fix it. What's the first step?
Guilmon. Guilmon first. Ken has done the biggest wrong to Guilmon. He turns to the Digimon, mind racing, and reassures him, "It's not that you can't eat bread. But variety...helps you grow...."
Wormmon, on the other hand, has a different solution. He takes a little bowl of salad (lots of veggies, his FAVORITE) and waddles up to Guilmon, offering it.
"Try this."

"See." Ken takes chopsticks and picks up a piece of lettuce, some tomato, and a slice of green pepper. Over to Wormmon's mandibles, and - in!

"It looks like what we fed the rabbit at Takato's school. Guilmon isn't a rabbit."

Ken shall assume Wormmon does not mean whether or not Guilmon is a rabbit. "....Many foods are good for...lots of people..."
"So when we visit the rabbits on the train, we can bring snacks?"
This has somehow completely gotten away from Ken. Somehow, he still feels like it must be his fault. "....Let's all have lunch."

Guilmon had picked up on the clearly most important part of the conversation.
Meanwhile Takato was fretting. He'd fed Guilmon bread since he'd first found him, because it was the only food he had a lot of access to. But what if he'd made Guilmon sick by doing that?

Wormmon launches into an enthusiastic description of the rabbits who live in the greenhouse, Little Radish and Little Carrot. They're friends with one of the passengers and now they're WORMMON's friends too! He and Ken-chan met them on a walk.....
Ken listens a little with a smile, then turns back to Takato.
"I didn't mean to pry," he says, unsure if that's an apology. This 'accepting all of himself' thing gets tricky when he realizes that some parts of himself have traits like 'judgmental'. It's not that he thinks less of Takato or Guilmon! He just.....He's particular.....
No, he's in the wrong, isn't he. He has to be.

Takato shakes his head. "No, I'm glad you did!" His expression is etched with worry. "I started feeding Guilmon with bread when I found him. He was like a baby back then, and it was the easiest food to get. You don't think I hurt him by doing that, do you? I thought bread was a healthy food."

Oh, here is something he had not thought of, in the moment. Ken blinks.
"....My friends give their Digimon snack foods. And my mother likes to make sweets."
He'd only been giving half of the story, hadn't he? Ken works through the rest out loud. "I see. I'm sensitive to Wormmon's diet so we can enjoy Mama's desserts."

"I was trying to remember what the Digimon we met in the Digital World ate. But when we were in the Digital World none of us needed to eat. Not if we told ourselves we didn't need to."
