So Familiar a Gleam: Diagnet!

This post are for network posts using the phones that all citizens of Diagad own. The phone connects to the internet- which is mostly full of the latest heroics of the city, warnings from the government and plenty of cat videos.

There is a popular forum space for the city where people can post in text, video or voice notes. There is also a phone book that lists everyone in the city for direct messaging.

what if making time compression rooms where time stops outside but you can watch shows and do whatever inside

figuring out my new favorite power here

that would be so much time on my hands to eat whatever i wanted and also get uni work & deliveries done

where's the power trading company i want to talk with them now

not to be an evil mastermind but my villain goal would be that power

even just my own room

theres no way studying controlling time and space can be a bad thing cmon scientists

sounds like something an evil mastermind villain would definitely want to talk about in public

also i think that's why there's so many time travel movies out where everything goes wrong because what is time and space control if not time travel in the end

welcome to my boring time travel movie idea: where everything the people set out to do goes right

you see that's why no one makes movies about that, there's always got to be a catch

going to fix everything and nothing hurts is a nice idea that probably is too nice and that's why no one accepts it

very rude when u think about it

see thats cuz everyone thinks theres got to be a catch

the catch is you can go back but cant go forward so you have to get it right or wait years and years to try again bc you need that time travel machine again

that still sucks but it doesnt have to be "the universe is breaking apart because you tried"

what about a time travel where you just skip ahead in time so you've got no idea what happened only suddenly you're in the future

... and that's it nothing else, this is your new realty

idk i dont want to move into the future but id watch a movie about that

would it be better if they were just a normal guy or if they did somethin bad that ruined the future

theyd get their memories back or figure out whats happened eventually

it'd suck if you had no choice and then suddenly it's the future where did all that time go

( the fact that circumstance actually applies to multiple people on train is v v sad )

go for normal guy just confused by everything and figuring it out again, maybe he meets the person who ruined the past and they save the present which is the future which

okay rewind lets just do wish fulfillment that's easier

add in romance that's perfect okay, but not the tragic kind, life's tragic enough

so no meeting the girl you were going to marry in the past and now shes old or dead?

edit: ok i dont care about a 5 min tragic scene of meeting your old lover or seeing her grave but no getting with their kid thats CREEPY

what? i mean sure meet whomever you were going to marry but then you're gonna marry them old or else you weren't serious in the first place and that's horrible, and if they're dead then you better be paying respects to their grave and checking in on their family or else you are also horrible?

wait reading the edit that's gross??? you adopt that kid not marry them, you adopt that family not marry any of them! you fell in love with their mother not with them! where's the respect for that if you go and do that, huh?

and yes you adopt that kid even if they're older than you!

ok but how far in the future are you talking bcuz i was thinking 80 years or somethin like that. ppl move on or are you really going to be interested in the same guy you met 60 or 80 years ago??

also i mean ok say hi to the family and do what you do at a grave but some 20 year old looking guy over and being like "hi i met your mom when she was 20" thats crazy??? theyre going to think youre a crazy guy

and why would you adopt their kid what about their actual parents?? what if theyre already married they dont need adopting!!

ugh! i have no idea! i wasn't thinking hard on it! also i didn't mean you should automatically adopt a kid that was your lovers or anything, but that adopting their kid makes way more sense than wanting to marry that kid?

also you're never too old to be adopted. that's a family thing, and family doesn't say, no you're not allowed to be part of mine because you're old. you don't have to adopt someone as your own child only, you know? family's more complicated than that!

idk time travel convos are a head to begin with and now were trying to make our own. but if the lovers kid was an actual kid and they didnt have any other family then sure that makes sense

also i have nooooo idea bout adoption. but i think i know people who did that? just said theyre family now?

i moved out soon as i had the chance. i dont think a lot bout family

yes, that, whatever, it's obv circumstantial or something like that, act according to what's going on

sometimes family is about choosing. idk that's what it feels like

( which is weird because the intense feeling he has of needing to choose family is at odds with the fact he has a little brother and absentee parents off touring as they always do? which makes... weird... sense... no. what? )

it can be the same but i dont think of my old man or mom then think of my friends the same way

and i know theres people out there who mean as much as them
i dont have a word to call them though

( it's unsettling, because he does feel strongly on this. why? family feels like it has layered meanings, and... sure, there are, there are elders and lateral branches and, and... )
