[Danny tosses off a quick salute, then transforms into his ghost form. He couldn't actually use any of his powers like this, but at least this way he could still be useful. ]
[ Near where they are outside the red mist, Masumi will be able to find some leaf parcels, tied up in string. They're away from the ship, likely from it, when so far no one has seen any signs of settlements around on this island.
If they unravel them, they will find food. Roasted chunks of meat for a long journey.
Meanwhile, Danny will find that even without his need to breathe, the red mist weighs uncomfortably on his body. A dizziness, something not right. Still, if he perseveres, he can reach the craft.
There are bird feathers scattered around it, in the water and on the craft itself. There's a way into it thanks to the crack made, or the upper floor can be explored.
There are bodies here too, of the sali. Also a few birds - they took some of their foes with them. ]
Danny wavers a little under the dizziness, but stubbornly sticks to it and finds his way to the craft. The bodies give him more than a moment's pause. He grimaces and makes his way into the craft through the crack.
I was just about to do that. [Stooping down, Masumi picks up one of the leaf packets and carefully unbinds it, revealing the meat within.]
Looks like food supplies. Maybe they were planning on a longer trip, or at least something long enough to need food on board.
[She scans the area, looking at the other leaf packets, or anything else ejected from the craft, maybe even signs that perhaps someone got away from the wreck.]
[Cassie nods, continuing to look over the area until her eyes catch something closer to the ship. It's the body of a satyr-like creature - and she can see from here that it's been dead for a while.]
...Looks like most of them didn't end up needing it.
[She squints, looking a little closer.]
Though if they had food and supplies when they made it to shore, and they didn't drown...
[She steps forward.]
Think I'll try and risk a closer look at the bodies. See if we can figure out how they died.
If Masumi is looking around she will find some tracks. They might be footprints though they are quickly distorted as if something or someone has been dragged across the ground.
Cassie's investigation of the bodies will find multiple injuries on each one, some seem to be caused by the crash but the more serious ones are claw marks, large gashes on rake down their sides. She will also find some feathers embedded in them, if she touches the feathers she will find them as sharp as knives.
Inside the craft it is dark and quiet. Items are spilled about, knocked over from the crash. From the distance he will hear a faint crashing sound... As if objects are being moved and thrown around.
Cassie bends over to examine the corpses. She's not a coroner, but she's trained enough in simple field treatments (and has seen enough dead bodies) to piece together what's up.
"I'm no animal expert. But I'm gonna guess these wounds didn't happen in the crash."
She winces and pulls her hand away as it pricks one of the feathers.
"Gonna throw a wild guess out there and say this was some kinda bird monster. A huge one, with talons."
[Masumi, meanwhile, is focused on the tracks, checking what direction they go in. There are signs of something being dragged, though what that thing was she can’t say yet. A survivor maybe?]
Looks like someone was in the area before us. I think something or someone was being dragged around, since they’re distorted and unclear.
As Danny walked through the ship he would hear more crashing and then the sound of something coming towards him before a creature jumped at him.
It does seem to be an attack, though that might not be obvious straight away. Instead the creature grabs anything it can, clothing, a hat, a bag, trying to steal it and leap away.
Danny had certain reflexes when it came to something jumping out at him and grabbing at him. Without thinking he forms a ball of ectoplasmic energy in his hands.... which immediately destabilizes and explodes, throwing him back to the floor.
Cassie isn't taking any chances, though. She takes off from the ground, hovering as steadily as she can manage and as high as she can manage (not very, in either case) looking to get a good angle if anything pops out she has to shoot.
[Masumi, meanwhile, heads as close to the red mist as she feels comfortable getting, drawing her sword just in case something comes out. She's honestly not sure what to expect after that noise earlier, but she sure isn't taking Danny's word for it that things are fine in there.]
There's a small chittering before something frops to Danny's head, ruffling his hair with a rumbling laugh. It peers down at him and with the ectoplasm he would see the blue tint of fur.
There's a skittering near where Masumi and Cassie are also, Cassie will feel something brush against her foot and something dives at Masumi, to grab anything that is loose.

[Relieved that she doesn’t have to go into that mist herself, Masumi turns to look at the various items scattered away from the crash.]
That leaves us to look around out here.

"Not sure if what they were carrying had anything to do with what happened. But it couldn't hurt to check, right?"
Beat.
"Well, I mean, we should check anyway."

Everything okay in there, Danny? [She'd rush in there to look, if it weren't for the red haze over the ship.]

For a moment there is quiet and then Danny will feel something poke him again, more chittering.

"I'm okay!" he calls out.
And then he very, very slowly and carefully gathers some ectoplasm in his hand. Just enough to give some light.
"Okay, who's poking me?"

"...Huh. You don't seem very dangerous."
Cautiously, he reaches out with his free hand to touch it.

But she's not panicking, and she's certainly not opening fire until she knows she's in danger.
