For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. If they have headphones from the music room they can make it so they work like earpieces.

The comms are a bit crackly and can distorted especially if trying to talk over islands but they do work.

[There's silence for a couple of minutes as he thinks over what she's saying, processing it as best he can. Her situation keeps sounding more and more similar to his own in his previous life, and that unnerves him. Maybe it's not the same as being devoured by ghosts and corpses after developing a terrifying way to cultivate, but...]

Dunno what you mean exactly, but, no. If you're talking about how we turn into them -- It's not like the Witch is inside trying to get out or something. It's...

When we kill a Witch, they drop something called a Grief Seed. Most of the time, anyway. We use them to purify our Soul Gems back home. So even if a magical girl doesn't care about duty, she has to fight Witches anyway, or else she can't keep her Soul Gem clean.

Well. Those Grief Seeds are what our Soul Gems turn into. Our souls turn into monsters.

I see. Let me make sure I'm understanding you correctly here: so these Witches drop what you need to cleanse the Soul Gem or you become a Witch yourself, but these grief seeds are what they'll become if you turn into a Witch? And if you don't kill a Witch, you don't get those grief seeds, and become one because it's tainted?

That sounds like an awful cycle that's impossible to escape.
