( Jingyi not clicking off his because so far no one's talking to them to remind him, and the weird echo means he just... shifts the earpiece out of his ear like a fool who still isn't used to dealing with this tech. Or assumed it went off because he was no longer intending to actively use it (the same thing having happened on the Sali's islands). )

... Used to some restrictions already? Train given ones?

( He holds up the device to point it at the SCA on Elidibus's wrist. Obligingly, it chirrups a sweet little beeeeeeep. Displaying a question now for if Elidibus wishes to be set as VISITOR status. Jingyi turns the scanner around so the guy can read the green screen. )

( Here's a half-assed grin for the attempt at humour. Be a visitor, Elidibus. )

Ah, yes. My experiences on the train, among others in the past. I have lived longer than my appearance may suggest. Though this is likely not a surprise amongst our fellow passengers.

[He holds out his wrist obligingly, as he did volunteer for this experiment.]

[There's even a faint smile in response to the attempt at humor. After all accepting it and focusing on the results of this experiment will surely move the conversation away from the details of what sort of restrictions Elidibus has faced before.]

Mm, can't think it is, one of my roommates is eight hundred and looks younger than I do.

( Said nonchalantly, because at that point: whatever, Immortals can exist, and none of them really look old, unless they're not really Immortals? Most people don't hit that mark, he thinks, so why be worried?

Either way, the screen shifts to state SCA REGISTERED AS VISITOR to Elidibus, shifting his status with no other fanfare. )

Though if we're feeling like this, I don't imagine it's going to get any better when we get past that door.

( Which, while he doesn't know it, is something they can now do. )

At least this diminished state has not greatly impacted one's physical condition based on age.

[Or well, that SOMEONE present is technically riding around in a former corpse no matter how functional it is now. When the scanner completes its task, Elidibus doesn't explode. Yay! The status of "VISITOR" thus registered, he'll look at the locked entry point.]

I'll see if this gains us entry.

[Fortunately he's not the type to jinx things by saying something more. And since he wanders over and the doors are willing to grant him access.... problem solved?]

It seems to be the solution. ...Odd. Well no matter. Pray inform everyone to gather so we may use the device to enter.

( He shivers, imagining people spontaneously aging to what, dust? Bodies aren't meant to last hundreds of years in general, that's something even rocks don't manage undamaged. )

Not to say I don't trust weird and unsuspecting answers, but I don't trust weird things that crop up out of nowhere like this. There's got to be something else that's going to block us once we're through...

( A pause, and he quirks up his eyebrows. )

( Then he cups his hands around his mouth and shouts: )

Hey, Voidtreckers! Get to the doors we can't open, we've found a way through!

( Yes, this means people also have him yelling through the SCA he never turned off. You're all welcome. )

We can hear you just fine, mate.

[His ears are still ringing a little. Ouch.]

While we're sharing discoveries, I've found a map of the stars. Think this might be important?

[He turns on his video for everyone to see the map, holding it up to the SCA camera so everyone can see it.]

... hey, wait a minute, this map matches the corridor I just walked through! This is where we came in, and this is where I turned down one of the forks in the hall... and this is where I am now. [He follows the line of stars with a finger to illustrate.] Anyone near one of these big, bright stars willing to poke their head in and see what it's about? I'm going to keep exploring in the meantime.

Oh, good, it worked then!

( He sounds zero percent apologetic for the shouting, it's one way to get attention, so why not work with what he's got to bring to the table? )

Hey, bring it to the closed doors? People can look at it here then see if it matches anything they see, or find on the other side, right?

But there's a whole station left to explore...

[Zagreus wants to keep go! Why no keep go??]

Sure, I'll meet you there and drop it off, then I'll keep exploring. What's behind those doors, mate? Don't leave us in suspense.

... Uh, as far as I can tell, the rest of the station?

( he sounds so confused right now, but that's because. the station is large, and even the arrivals area was pretty big, let alone whatever was beyond it, so to speak )

... oh! So that's how we get to those from here. Fantastic! I'll be right over.

[Enticing him with more exploring is definitely the way to go here.

Zagreus comes jogging up with the map in hand.]

All right, how do we get through this door? And is it just me, or do you two feel less... godly than normal, too?

( are they all gods here now, or at least powerfully and divinely aligned? (yes, basically.)

jingyi blinks before he frowns. )

Ugh, yes. This is like running around wearing invisible qi-binding rope, it's annoying. I can't even shift!

( this actually offends him, as it's suppressing part of his inherent nature even more than the train itself does. )

Anyway, I'm not sure, how do the doors read the SCA?

( he looks to elidibus, holding his arm up and out towards says doors while the scanner is in his other hand. he's not quite close enough for the doors to register, so this is an exaggerated pointing. )

[God Gang God Gang God Gang God Gang.... ahem]

Simply approaching them will suffice, once you've registered your SCA to the scanner as a visitor.

[Elidibus picks up these techy terms pretty easily. It's not his fault that his world is a hybrid stock fantasy and science conglomeration!

There are devices in the door itself which will be able to detect and read the SCA.

[He steps closer to demonstrate the principle. Sure enough even without raising his arm to wave it about, as Elidibus draws near the doors register his presence and start signaling that they will be opening.]

[God Gang God Gang God Gang!!]

Oh, wow! Brilliant job there, Elidibus mate. Can you register me next?

[And he'll hold out his SCA-clad arm to get that registered!]

Here's the map I found, by the way. [He'll hold it out for someone to take with his other arm.] I'll take a look around at those brighter stars, see what can be found in them. Surely they must be important, if they've been laid out like this on a map?

( Jingyi peers to the map, while lifting the scanner and gesturing for Zagreus to bring his outheld arm closer. The scanner beeps charmingly when it registers that he's not registered, providing the screen answer that Jingyi doesn't hit YES on, but turns to Zagreus so he can have the honours of selecting to change his SCA to VISITOR status. )

Does that mean more doors in this place are going to do that?

( Still peering at that map, but only taking it now, squinting at the constellations. )

You said this part's what it's like out here, so... they have to mean something. Maybe where whoever's missing would be more likely to have been found? Power storing locations? Do places like this store power.

( he extends the map to Elidibus, shaking his head. )

[Oh hey, a map. While the other two handle the scanner and SCA conversion for Zagreus, Elidibus takes and looks over the map.]

...What a fanciful design. [Does it not have legend? There will be a faintly annoyed frown about this.]

I suppose they should be investigated. I would find it hard to believe a place like this does not have a reserve power system, if only to continue supporting life in emergencies.

[Being a space station and all.]

But if they are places to store power, I doubt they'd be marked so readily on a map anyone could come across. Perhaps something else but I agree they are worthy of investigating. Shall we recruit others to do so?

[One quick snap of the camera button on the SCA, and he has a portable map of his very own!]

[And Zagreus runs off toward the nearest 'star', eager to have somewhere new to explore.]

( Jingyi, watching Zagreus, slowly shakes his head. )

How do you not exhaust yourself...

( Hey, he gets wanting to be moving, it's something he prefers, but running around like this just sounds like asking to get injured, killed, or get others injured or killed?

(If only he knew.) )

[Meanwhile Elidibus watches Zagreus dart off. He seems to muse something for a moment, possibly similar to what Jingyi says aloud given the glance he briefly casts toward the dragon.

But he waits. And waits a bit more, possibly a span of time measured by an estimation of 'how long it will take Zagreus to figure out his human level stamina Cannot Compare to godly endurance' before addressing the godling over the comms.]

Are you remembering to pace yourself, Zagreus?

[The well-practiced mildness with just a hint of concern. Does nothing to indicate he'd purposefully waited until Zag likely DID forget and tire himself out. Let's see if he's correct.]

[Trust Elidibus to point out the obvious. Also trust him to calmly remove his earpiece the moment it becomes apparent that Jingyi is going to shout across the hangar.]

It seems you're not aware that your communication channel was still open.

My what?

( said after yelling. what's a channel? he's never heard it called that in a way where it held meaning before right now. )

Is that related to the SCA?

Ah. Yes, it is.

[Please insert a small tutorial on the communication device, how to turn it on and off and the like here. Elidibus does turn out to be a pretty decent teacher even. He's had a lot of practice.]

( and he listens and learns and only interrupts to ask for clarification during natural pauses, because in spite of his tendency to be blunt and too direct in statements, Lan Jingyi is a good learner.

Meaning he does turn off his SCA when they're in place, but leaves his earpiece in place to not worry about it. )

Still wish you could talk at the thing to tell it who you want to speak to, instead of look through the whole list, though...

[It's a good lesson. And Elidibus is left assured Jingyi has understood the lesson and will now be less inclined to test the limits of everyone's eardrums by accident.]

I see, a fair point. Well perhaps it is something you can suggest to the feedback when we return.
