For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. If they have headphones from the music room they can make it so they work like earpieces.

The comms are a bit crackly. They cannot reach those who have vanished.

( this is followed by him flashing his light around in a sort of figure eight, pausing while Inigo has gone on ahead for the moment. )

By SCAs breaking. We were specifically worried about you. Anyone else who relies on this thing to stay stable, too, but you came to mind first. Which is why Inigo's mad at me.

( the light stops figure eighting, because he's turning to catch up with Inigo, currently off seeking probably death by murdering, or whatever's gone wrong here. )

And off trying to learn if we might die in other creative ways.

[ Tidus spots the deliberate waving of a SCA, and with a direction to go in he does so. His SCA is still on, earpiece bringing Jingyi in loud and clear. ]

Uhh, thanks for caring [ he guesses? ], but why did you two think it'd mess up? Did something weird happen?

[ He'll be close in range to the door in less than a minute, so they can talk in person. But Tidus is still confused about this 'SCA breaking device'?? ]

... Tidus, do you think we have any idea what won't break an SCA?

( we are not the tech guys, Tidus. Jingyi does pause, waiting a bit in from the entrance, which for hilarity's sake should close as soon as Tidus approaches because. his SCA isn't set to visitor yet.

... look, tech fail should be. should be universal??? )

Yeeeaaah.

[ Listen to the resigned-sigh of an answer in that. Yes, he was taking into account their lack of savvy for tech, but there had to be a reason, right?

But here Tidus approaches with the closing door, which he isn't too worried about if they can open it again. Looking Jingyi over, but what he's really looking for, is- ]

Okay, so where's this thing everyone's freaking over?

[ Everyone = Inigo and Jingyi, apparently. ]

( Jingyi has to approach the door again for it to open, but given it was closing as Tidus approached, he'd already been moving toward it so the door wouldn't close fully with them standing on either side of it. It repeats the sound of registering access, stopping before a full seal, and sliding back open, but slowly, like it objected to this on some level.

Jingyi held out the scanner, stepping back across the threshold with a frown. More now for the fact Inigo's down the hall and the door is showing it takes the registration of Visitor seriously. If that's proof of anything much, he doesn't know. )

Here, we set our SCAs to visitor. So far it only seems to activate the door, but neither of us need them, you know? So if anything else were going on we couldn't tell unless it failed in some obvious way.

[ There's an ohhh that's faint, under his breath as he finally realises what's up. ]

Let's try it. [ He brings up his own SCA, tapping its screen once. ] If it's just a visitor pass, there's no reason it'll mess with the life functions. Everyone's got those for their SCAs. It'd be a big screw up.

[ Is it blind faith?? ... Tidus just can't see a pass malfunctioning life functions on a void-versal device. ]

Yes, but we can breathe the air here even if we toss ours away. Different scales.

( He says, which is what again taps against the worry they'd shared, even as he watches Tidus, hawkeyed, and has his tail held so that any shift from the door will be immediately felt. )

Still, if you don't think it'd be like that... hell, I don't know.

( It's Tidus's decision, and he has to trust that, even if he's dubious about anything tech related working as expected. Though it does seem that this hasn't done anything so far... )

It'll let you by then?

( He gestures toward the door, then heads to them again, in case there are murderers Inigo is managing to face all the way down the hall now. NO SELF SACRIFICE FOR HELLS SAKE, INIGO! )

[ No, he's not going to get into a 'yeah but' go-off with Jingyi, HE'S BEEN HERE BEFORE.

Point is, he's getting registered! And if he's registered, then he can test his fate out by heading for that door, to see if it'll let him open it if he bats his SCA wrist-hand at the panel. 'Close enough', it must decide, as it swooshes open for him. ]

Cool. [ Cool. Tidus's verdict. He nods, wanting to go ahead, but he pauses as he looks at the scanner, and... ]

Just leave that there for the rest! We should check Inigo's fine.

[ Someone else can log everyone in!! ]

( admittedly unless there's a clear crossing of lines jingyi's managed that he didn't know if, he doesn't really unargue over things, such as it is.

his tail does a malcontent twitch even as he breathes out, sighing something like relief that nothing weird immediately happened, though he knew logically nothing would immediately happen. he and inigo would have noticed. inigo, who is down in a room by now.

he turns and keeps the scanner for the moment. )

I'll find him with you, then leave you together before I head back here. Don't trust that whatever had people disappearing or sending that distress call won't somehow be lurking around to make things more difficult again.

... unfortunately jingyi does, and now this is his, after making sure inigo hasn't been MURDERED and that he's dropped the personage of his concern off with him to Maybe Deal With It, who knew. )

Eh? Then let's just leave it here for someone to do. [ Why go through the fuss of going in and then coming back out?

So Tidus doesn't wait for reasons why or similar protests, looking out at the hangar space made up of SCA lights. He brings his free fingers to his mouth and whistling, before following it with a call- ] Hey everyone, over here! We got a thing for the door! Come and use it!

[ See this, so much easier. Tidus even twists his SCA - hitting himself in the eyes with the light, before turning that off and going into screen mode - to bring up the contacts. ]

We'll let Roland know before we go too. He'll get things sorted. Okay? Then we'll have more people coming in behind us.

( Jingyi has both brows lifted by the time Tidus is done announcing in his way looking, ah, not particularly impressed beyond for his capacity in volume. One guy who could be loud had to admire and acknowledge another guy, also being loud. )

Roland, sure, but also call... uh. Can you tell with Hanguang-jun, which Lan Wangji, has been here longest? Or the oldest one, he seems to understand technology 'cause he's old.

( Old enough to have lived to see it, because Immortality in a world that doesn't follow classical concepts of xianxia retention of ancient times perpetually means seeing the industrial revolution and all that comes out the technology boom on the other side of it. )

Because someone's going to need to be able to explain to any of us who don't just know what this stuff is. He can help. Which apparently we'll all need since we're going in ahead of everyone.

( Which he wouldn't be doing if Inigo weren't already down the hall and the first room cleared, so he sets the stupid scanner down and shifts his sword out from under his arm so he's carrying it, ready to draw. No powers? Whatever! Time to head back to Inigo and trust that the people he knows better, that he fights best by, are likewise taking care of the immediate group of people they're around.

It's what they should all do. For their sakes, and the sake of whomever sent out that distress call, who may very well read their presence as another threat, and not a help. Plan for the worst, be pleasantly surprised when no one's possessed or dying! )

[ Oldest? Does Tidus know who the oldest Wangji is!? It's a fussy detail that his brain tries to think of for half a second, but he's got Roland's name up and has his SCA ringing already. ]

Can't you? Let's get everyo-- oh, Roland!

[ And he'll be distracted as he explains the situation - which really, is just a 'Hey, come over to the door - Jingyi, swing your light again! - the door with the waving light!

It's okay, they'll get to saving Inigo soon. As soon as at least one other person knows how to work the scanner, and they can finally get through the door and hurry up to Inigo. Some of that concern for Inigo getting his feet itchy, but he trusts the other guy too, to be able to take care of himself.
