Fissures of Time: Conclusion
FISSURES OF TIME: CONCLUSION
MISSION CONCLUSION
THE BATTLE LASTS LESS THAN AN HOUR, BUT IN THAT TIME, CHANGE HAS COME. The ring of equalisers used to keep the distortion at bay are a scattered mess; some broken, others barely functioning, overheating from the power of what they had to send back into the stream of pocketed time. Shattered remains of the building-high horned mirror clutter the upturned landscape, and some speck of rain has come back with them, leaving bodies both drenched yet sweltering.
But for the mess, there's no scars or tears in reality. Everything has settled, and Kolokifi and Sylnis have disappeared. Eilifi, appearing to confront the God of Summer and Life, cannot be seen. But what does remain...
...is a floating mass of energy, drifting gently from where Kolokifi had risen from her temple. It floats down from the sky, slowly; pastel colours blending into one another, shimmering in the sun's light. Roots form as it gathers inward, reaching for the ground, and curling around the energy to cradle it. Protecting it, while branches unfurl upward to form the fingers of branches that greet the sun, tiny flowers following soon into blossom.
It meets with the ground eventually, but when it does, there's no refuge under the stiff and cracked surface. But softly, there comes a rain - from the canopy of the tree itself, to moisten the ground below, and its own plant.
The two powers mingle, and within seconds, the soil relaxes to let in the roots. A light wind rustles the branches, and an air breathes from the plant.

'Eilifi...' speaks a voice. The haze of Silifi figure appears before the shrub, a vague visual of furs, soils and vines to represent a body, tattered and spilling a golden liquid from cracks in their body. A mask on their face, but they turn to no one but what has become of their Twin - their Eili.
Another figure appears, if barely a shape of all. A mist of grey-and-silver, with strings shaping a body that hang both connected and loose. A mask with closed eyes makes their face, a third eye open at the forehead, that stays transfixed on the growth before them.
They reach out with skeletal-shaped fingertips, barely caressing the surface of the sphere before collapsing on their knees, head bowing.
'Heri...Herios...' A deep voice echoes.
The leaves of silver shimmer and wave, and a bittersweetness permeates the space.
--
For the rest that had been in the distortion, they find themselves on leftover patches of soft grass. The burns from the ribbons and tendrils no longer hurt, the curse neutralised, even if the physical marks remain. These will fade slowly over the next few days, merely reminders of all that has been.
Back in the camps, the world seems calmer than it has been in a long time. There is an ease the Voidtreckers will be able to feel in the people. Something has changed; like the sun coming out after a rainstorm, there is a sense of relief in the air.

"Good work out there. Sili's gonna be moving her sister and Herios to her domain - what happens now is anyone's guess, but it looks like Spring's going to be out of commission here for a while. Don't worry though, we'll be covering it. The world's gotta go through a lot more bumps before it gets where it needs to, but it's always been heading in the right direction.
"Come to the base if you need anything post mission. But oh yeah, drop off our gear there before you leave. Your craft's agreed to a hefty fee if anyone thinks about taking anything, but if it turns out you just forgot, you can let it know and it'll send it back. "
Of course.
"Feel free to keep the alcohol and medical gear - that's on us. And before I forget, a few of you - you'll be getting some messages soon. Stuff about your world - Ten-Nank's called."
THE MINISTRY WORKERS ARE AROUND, HELPING WITH THE CLEANUP. They will greet Voidtreckers warmly when they see them, pointing them in the correct direction for dropping off equipment.
It's not much longer before a message appears on their SCA's. All Voidtreckers to return to the Voidtrecker Express.
It takes time, of course, for everyone to board. But soon the train doors close, the countdown starts, and they rise into the air flying up and vanishing, out of the world and back to the kaleidoscope of the void.
OOC NOTES
OOC post. Ask questions here. Rewards go here.
Last Notes: Thanks for your engagement! We hope everyone had fun - sorry that things got abruptly hectic in the middle! Please continue with threads as you please, and don't forget your mission rewards.
A note on stealing: The ministry have a good inventory system and will notice if anything missing. Anyone who has stolen anything will be penalized in points and their name noted by the ministry. If your character would still nab things that aren't the medicine/alcohol Zhak offered please let us know in shenanigans.
If people want a scouting drone: While they can't have the ones on the planet, they can buy a version from the train store by asking for a 'Scouting Drone' under 'Weapons'. These will come with an attachable earpiece and will sync to the SCA and earpieces, so they can be used at a distance.
They're remote control, and allow for scouting an area in advance without too much movement. They will show up on SCA maps, and will also have a very tiny laser, but can't be fired too many times before needing to cool down - they're better as a deterrent.
Guns can already be bought, and there's no equivalent for the equaliser boxes.

Nozomi Yumehara | OTA
Nozomi wasn’t hurting anymore, but the marks where she had been wrapped up could be seen on her person, especially her armor.
This armor… this power…
“NYAAAGH! GET THIS OFF ME!” Nozomi shouted, fighting to get rid of the armor, tearing it off of her person as she did. “This stupid thing nearly killed me! No more!”
Finding her iMog after tearing off her armor, she proceeded to turn off that power and throw the iMog inside the train, hitting something in the process.
“For now on, I’m using my own power as Cure Dream! If I could refund that, I would!”
Onboard the Train
A few minutes would pass before Nozomi would cool off, opting to hang around the kitchen. She needs a snack.
“Any cookies around here? I could go for some…”
After The Battle
He comes into view, to meet Nozomi, "I guess I deserved that, I almost didn't get to you in time." Not to mention he shot a glitching tank round at her!
Checking up on the user was actually one of his goals coming back onto the train. This has just hurried it up.

"I'm sorry it came to this. Can I..." She hesitates, ducks her head. It just feels like...It feels like there's something she could do. Not to fix this, nothing but time and hard work will fix this, but something smaller. Maybe this will do nothing, maybe they will not even let her near their precious twins. But asking has never hurt.
"Can I try something? As thanks. For your gifts to us all."

And it's Nature who speaks, Merios quiet, lost in themselves.

Kitty Pryde | OTA
Kitty pauses a moment as she glances up, sensing the sudden shift in the air. The people all seem to relax at once, and suddenly it feels like they were all able to breathe a little easier.
It's quiet for a moment, but the gentle, calming sort, and Kitty feels herself smile. She isn't sure how, but she's sure that it means that the others have done it.
B. Base
Kitty had to drop by the base for a moment, the scouting drone and its eyepiece in hand. She had been a little disappointed when the Ministry had called for a return of their equipment, though she had expected it. She still thought about taking it anyway, but she didn't want to get them and the train in trouble now, with the Ministry sort of trusting them.
The drone had been helpful, though, so she was a little sad to part with it. But at least dropping by the base meant she could also grab a few more medical supplies.
C. Train
Kitty had found the closest seat once she'd gotten back on the train and collapsed into it, holding a compress on one side of her neck. There were still some light bruising from when someone had tried to strangle her, but for the most part fatigue seemed to be the worst of her troubles.
Eventually she'll get up to look for people and see how they're doing. But she just wanted to sit for a moment.
Masumi Sera | Purple Team | OTA
[Now that the adrenaline's wearing off, Masumi's fully feeling the exhaustion and barely manages to drag herself back to the nearest camp before flopping down on the ground. Thankfully she's not badly injured, the worst of her injuries being the marks left from the ribbons and bruises from getting knocked around, but she's worn out from the fight.
If approached, she'll try to wave off any concern despite everything, figuring she just needs some rest and she'll be alright.]
I'm fine, just tired.

[Before the train leaves, Kyoko makes one last stop by the temple. She brings a peach cobbler with her, Mami's recipe.]
I was saving this for after the mission, but I think you guys need the comfort food more than I do.
[She carefully measures out a slice for all of the gods- yes, even Kolokifi. As promised, Nypsia gets an extra serving.]

…Thank you, Nypsia, for your help. You’ve changed me for the better…

Ken Amada (AU) | OTA
Ken gets sent to the healers to get his wound looked at as soon as the immediate injuries from the battles have been taken care of. Potions and bandages have held him together so far, but the injury needs a little more checking now that magical healing is back on the table. He spends a little time getting his wound looked at... hopefully the person who checks it won't call him out too much on being a self-sacrificing idiot.
Around
After being stuck with an injury for several days it's hard to remember how to move without one. Ken's movements are a little stiff and sluggish as he wanders the train. He goes to get a meal in the dining car and then settles in the library, idly doodling dogs and dragons in his notebook. He really should be reading something, but... he can't really focus right now.

Physically at least. Anything branded or scarred or intended to stick around before fading will need to be addressed by others. And mentally...

The Ascian is the last person to speak outright about self-sacrifice.

Cassie Cage | OTA, one thread locked
There are more communal supplies to be dealt with than just the ones that the Ministry wants returned. Team Purple has their own stock, and it's Cassie's job to handle it. Anyone with supply questions can talk to her.
Though she's also not opposed to being interrupted.
Train, locked to Trunks
Regardless of how many senzu beans and other miraculous healing items they have on board, it isn't enough by itself to help with mental exhaustion. That's what the spa car is for. Cassie has changed into her bathing suit and made a beeline for the spa the moment she sets foot on the train.
And there's one person in particular she's looking to meet here - someone who needs it even more than she does.
Base, because we're overdue for a new thread
And even more concerning seeing those that had came out of it.
There had been quite a few injuries, and he has to question himself if he hadn't been intentionally holding himself back during this mission if he could had prevented some of them...
But it was done now, and he was checking around those he was closer to to see how they were doing, as well as just getting everything set up and ready to leave. "Cassie, how are you?"
We are indeed.

Train
Normally he didn't use the spa-car, preferring instead to just shower and then go do something relatively mindless. Read, or maybe play a vid game. Or train--training was often soothing. But he knew after a mission like this, the spa was where Cassie'd be. And that's where he wanted to be right then.
This mission had been tough. It had almost been a relief to be fighting a crazed god. It was an easier focus than a lot of everything else had been.
So he's brought his hoody, but also is in his own purple swimtrunks and slippers, when he heads to the Spa Car. Not surprised to find Cassie already there as he put his stuff down. "Kinda figured you'd be here."

cw for burns
But Zagreus' left arm is covered in third degree burns, and his legs even more so. The rest of him is thankfully far better off, with only first or second degree burns. Stygius, now in the form of Excalibur, is left beside him by whomever dropped him at the Healers' Tent. He remains unconscious, his laurels barely sputtering with life, his flaming feet a dull reddish hue rather than their usual yellowish heat. He's in no danger of dying - Thanatos has seen to that - but without medical attention, the strain on Thanatos will grow until both of them have fallen unconscious.
cw for burns, broken wings, and partial blindness... dear gods, Than

[Typically, Kabuto is more the type to stay on the battlefield and heal there, but given he's been since over the whole "no magic" nonsense the entire mission? He's more than happy to volunteer himself to be available in triage for anyone that... probably needs a little more attention than the camps can provide.
Doesn't stop him from looking rather bored with the whole ordeal, or maybe that's just his resting face. He's ditched his cloak for the time being, merely wearing the typical polo and pants for the time being. Rare, that.]
Well, I suppose things could have always gone worse... [He had not a clue about what had happened with those fights, having avoided them entirely. Evidently his assumption of triage needing more attention wasn't as accurate as it should have been.
Oh well, at least he's mostly keeping himself busy inspecting the equipment to make sure it's still up to standard.]

Trunks Brief (Future) | Purple | OTA
Considering, that fight could've gotten a lot worse. It had been bad enough as it is, and his burns stung. But he was no stranger to pushing through the pain, and there were people who needed help getting back. One of those being Leia, who Trunks really only knew in passing--but she'd clearly exhausted all she had and could, to try and help in this fight. So he's careful, making sure to carry her gently, back to camp and one of the medical tents. There's a lot of people needing help, so he's going to wait with her unconscious form until she's awake."
Around the Camp--Open
Once Leia was being taken care of, Trunks finally took care of healing himself. It still amazed him that the train had given them not just access to senzu beans, but so many of them! One bean eaten, and his burns healed and he felt refreshed and ready to do that kind of battle again if needed.
It wasn't, so it was moving around camp, after checking in with Cassie to be sure she was alright and that she didn't need help with purple supplies. He'll help clean-up, run supplies to people and play gofer, whatever's useful. If the healer's are too swamped, or anyone else wants a senzu bean, he has a few to spare as well.
After the fight-Closed
It was a few hours later that her eyes fluttered open. She found herself lying on a cot, staring at the ceiling of a tent, and could hear the sounds of people moving around nearby. Snippets of conversation she heard let her know where she was; the medical tent. Hardly surprising given the last thing she could remember.
She considered trying to get up, but found that it felt like too much effort just then. So she settled for turning her head. That was when she spotted Trunks sitting by her bedside. "Given the lack of chaos, I'm guessing that we won?", she said by way of letting him know she was awake. Her voice sounded a bit weak and slightly hoarse, but it was clear that whatever happened to her hadn't robbed her of her wits, at least.

One Closed Prompt + One Open Prompt
After Zagreus has been healed by whomever can spare a potion or the mana, he's stuck sitting around until someone comes to get him. He'll beg them to take him to the Temple, because he cannot walk on his own, not with the way his legs and left arm are bandaged. He'll keep asking until someone brings him.
Once he's there, Zagreus wastes no time in asking his new assistant to help him prostrate himself before the eleven statues in the space, his actions no less sincere but all the more repentant. His words come forth almost as soon as his presence is known by the Gods, tears welling up unbidden.
"Gods of Praeus... I... what I've done is unforgivable. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I called on you, Lady Eilifi and Honored Silifi, when you were too weak to stand up to Her might. Because of my actions, you've been deprived of your twin, just like..." He catches himself, before continuing, "... I'm sorry, Lord Merios, for reminding you of such pain you had to endure. I pray that Lord Herios will become reachable, one day. I hope you're never lonely again. I'm sorry, Lady Nypsia, for greedily calling on your aid when there were other worthier vessels. I'm sorry. Honored Imersica, for not taking your blessing of Wisdom to heart. For jumping headlong into something that was far beyond me. And Lord Krios... to you, most of all, I'm sorry. My Chaos was meant to be with Purpose, and it..." He carefully composes himself for a few moments, trying not to break down crying. "I pray only that you Judge me fairly, despite what I've done, what I've caused, in my recklessness."
Hopefully the Gods will listen, and maybe even respond. But after what Zagreus has done to their world, he wouldn't doubt that they might want to never see or speak to him again.
It's all just red wine, headaches, mythology (OPEN)
Zagreus can be found waiting in one of the camps, in a spot where the healers can keep an eye on him, but out of the way enough that he doesn't get in the middle of packing up. He doesn't say much, which is very unlike him, but the bandages surrounding his legs and left arm might be drawing his attention away from such things. What's really unlike him is the somber look on his face as he watches what's going on around him, from the packing up and reclassifying of supplies to the removal of tents from their places.
Come say hi to him? Admonish him for the dumb, dumb thing he just did? Or maybe thank him for all the hard work he put into protecting others from Kolokifi's wrath? Either way, he's not going anywhere.
no subject
If not for long. The judgment that Zagreus already weighs on himself becomes heavier, a harder force to rise to - as if his own guilt and shame has become physical. And the more guilt he feels, the heavier his body will feel.
'Your Chaos was always Mindless,' speaks the voice of Krios; powerful, deep, and given judgment without scorn, but as fact. 'Driven by your emotions, you offered aid without knowing its meaning. You Judged what was being done not to be enough - to be lacking - and yet without any consideration for its purpose, and why it was so. Just as the first who came here from outside our realms, judging their intentions to be what would set this world right. You are, and shall continue to be, responsible for all blood and death, and for everything beyond it.'
Just as agreed before, and so it continues to be.
'This world will lack Spring, for who knows how long. Spring chose their path, weighed by the guilt long before your arrival, but not uninspired by those who arrived. I do not accept regrets; they mean nothing in my Judgment. You and those who came with you have given results, and this is what they are.'

Thanatos | 1 closed, 1 OTA
Hear me, O Death, whose empire unconfined | Closed
Thanatos arrives at the temple with his wings and eyes bandaged up. His hair has been tied back for the time being. Mort leads him forward."Merios?" Thanatos calls out to the statue, the god, he cannot see. He doesn't expect more than a few words from other God of Death. If he responds at all. "... Has your cycle of Life and Death been restored? Will they find their Rest?" Thanatos knows what he senses, but Merios would know for certain. Then, his voice falls quieter, uneasy.
"And... is Lord Herios...?" Thanatos had his focus elsewhere, had his vision hampered, and when he came to in the healer tent, he didn't want to ask. Not in there and the company he kept. He's picturing Hypnos in his mind now, wondering if he realized the connection sooner if that would have done anything. Merios had said that he offered hope blindly, and here he is, blind.
Extends to mortal tribes of every kind | OTA
After his visit to the healer tent, Thanatos is still looking a little rough. Light is still painful to him, not so much an injury still but being a child of Night. His wings might be still be in splints or bandages. His hair has grown long, and despite the length, it has an airy, floating quality to it.Death Incarnate's twin is Sleep Incarnate, and while the two may seem completely different, the relation between the two is more easily seen when Thanatos is in this drained state. He floats listlessly, hunched and nodding off only to startle back to wakefulness. The ever present problem of Thanatos staying asleep remains. He needs something a little extra to do that, an unfortunate side-effect of having Sleep Incarnate as a twin.
He can't really help as he is now, so he stays at a camp in an out of the way spot and lost in his own mind. Thinking about the mission. Before. Revelations and changes.
Mort likely squeaks up before Thanatos reacts. Though, blindfolded as he is to help his eyes, he doesn't turn his head to whoever approaches. "Did you need something?"

lan jingyi | aftermath

He had done some preparation for people returning to the train, making sure there was food in the kitchen for hungry voidtreckers. But once the first people did return he retreated to his room.
He didn't want to risk getting sick again and then growing smell of blood from people returning from their final fights hit him even in the room.
He wanted to go out, to check up on friends. But he has to be sensible, to not give them more things to worry about.
He was tangled in blankets when Jingyi arrived back, a sketchpad in hand. He looked up, worried but glad to see him all at once.

Nell Ingram | OTA
Nell felt the change in the land itself and it was reflected in the people. She was battered, bruised, and exhausted both physically and emotionally, but the sense of calm and relief let her relax for the first time in a long time. She talked quietly with the people there and ate the first actual meal she'd had in a while.
The Temple
Nell and the Guardian returned to the temple, Nell wanting one last chance to thank the beings there. "I just wanted to thank you'uns for sending the Guardian with me," she said quietly. "M'not sure I'd have made it through without them and I know for sure I was able to help a lot more people than I could have otherwise. They were a wonderful and true companion and protector."
She rested a hand on the Guardian, stroking it gently. "And I thank you as well, Guardian. I don't know what I would have done without you."
"I wish you and your world well."

Still - he isn't sure what she's been given, but he does take one of the small folding chairs beside her, wanting to make sure there's a bottle of water left with her, and some of the snacks they have. A container filled with some onigiri, and skewered fish and vegetable sticks. Can't ask her what she'd like, so - just leave everything, right?
...and maybe, if he can get away with it, he'll attempt just a small amount of healing. His own mind and body exhausted, but that doesn't stop him from closing his eyes, putting a hand on her arm and turning energy into a gift; something that might soothe her, just a bit.
I accidentally have the perfect icon for this. X3
With a bit of effort, she pushed herself into a sitting position. Better for conversation, and necessary if she was going to take advantage of the water and snacks. "Let me guess; pushing yourself a bit too hard on the healing front, hmm?" Though fairly obviously exhausted herself, it was clear Leia still had her wits about her, and was as observant as ever.
oh that's a very nice icon (i actually thought they were wearing red gloves, lol)
Her being comatose for part of Last Jedi makes for good 'injured' icons. X3
