HOME SWEET HOME

You find yourself not on a wide station platform, in the clothes you last remember, holding what you were when you went through the glas door. There's no longer a train behind you, no sound of its whistle, with no other passengers around you in similar style of clothing to your own.

You're somewhere familiar, or just - the last place you remember being before your life became tethered to the Voidtrecker Express. A field, a city, a kingdom, or perhaps even a space station. You should be nowhere, yet you find yourself somewhere, despite all odds.

People - if there are people - don't at first notice you; but attract enough attention to yourself, and that will all change. Friends, family - are they near, a phonecall away? It's either everything you wanted or everything you imagined (for good or worse), and it could seem unbelievably real. But it is real - you're off the train, back somewhere you know.

Finally - the journey is over...

...If only.
You're moving away from where you arrived, for whatever reason. Who wouldn't? You may be far from home, have business elsewhere, or want to go sightseeing. It's time to return to - and live - your life, and that doesn't include sticking to one place.

But you'll find that when you reach a point, the world becomes...foggy. A fog that you hadn't seen in the distance before it appears, and when you walk through it, you'll find yourself in a place some have already found themselves in.

Because for some passengers, there was nowhere for them to return, and so the barriers lead only to fog, and then straight back onto the platform. The Voidtrecker Express may be stationed, or there may be a blanket of fog where it should be; sometimes, it can be caught trying to leave the station, only to come back a few minutes later. The doors are shut tight, and the windows are obscured, showing nothing inside.

Those who came from somewhere can go back, should they go through the turnstiles again. And if they want, they can take people along with them, too...

But sometimes, they go to a world no one knows. They go through the barriers into nothing, a black emptiness. Not space, for those that know space, and it doesn't seem to be the void either. But it is a void, devoid of anything at all. Just a darkness so complete they will not be able to see anything at all, they will only know their companion is there through touch and sound. How they are breathing, how they are living at all, is a mystery; one probably answered only by the SCA on their wrist.

Being there brings an unease deep down inside them. This place is not natural, not somewhere that they should exist in. Not a place that should exist at all. Luckily they are never there for more than a few moments before they return once more to the station, fog covering them like a safety blanket.

A DIFFERENT CORNER: LOCATIONS

In the first couple of days (whatever that means, when time doesn't match up between most places), the only way to move to another's tethered location is by them leading another there. But after that, individuals will show up in other locations when they reach close to the distance limit. Indeed as time goes on everything gets a lot less stable. They may know their five miles perfectly but still one step to another leads them back to the platform. Attempting to return to their world leads them somewhere else entirely.

And there's quite a few places to end up.

LOCATION TOPLEVELS: Since it'll be easier for players to engage with settings presented by those offering them, when we see a toplevel for one of the above locations put up, we'll add it to the list! We've also included the OOC comments for settings to the side, so any questions can be left with the player, as well as extra details. Please always speak with the player first if you intend to do anything drastic to the setting!

A REMINDER: Time of log is Poi 22-25, but time within worlds can last up to a maximum of two weeks. Minimum is whatever you want it to be.

During Poi 22 and 23, characters will need to be led to a location to be able to access it. From Poi 24, people will show up in locations regardless of invitation.

The second half of the event will go up during 20th to 25th February (Poi 26-28). But as always, play around in here and do as you like!

Ghost Fighting!

Jin Ling is equally tired, since he's not used to something like this version of ghost hunting. Sure he's done night hunts and sure he's seen spirits before, but honestly, how did he get here?

First he was minding his own business. He somehow found himself moving between places without any literal explanation. He couldn't even remember how he shifted from Gusu Lan to here, fighting ghosts with Danny, using these-- thermoses!

Jin Ling managed to at least keep the ghosts at bay, while flaying their transparent bodies with Suihua, which circled with his spiritual energy. It wouldn't kill the ghosts, obviously or capture them, but it provided a good amount of distance for the two of them.

"You're the expert here! You tell me!"

Danny finishes trapping the last group of ghosts inside the thermos and slings it across his back as he rises up into the air to catch a few.

"Get ready!" he calls down. "There's a ghost animal stampede headed this way."

"G-Ghost animal stam-p-pede?!"

Why was he stuttering? Even Jin Ling didn't know. He calls back Suihua into his hand and sheathes the weapon. Following that, he pulled his bow and arrows out. Well, time to get really fussy, he supposed. He didn't know how to use the thermos the way Danny did, even with any kind of explanation, so he was sticking to more realistic methods.

Again, not going to kill anything, but could distract it or cause it enough trouble that Danny could catch them.

Danny charges up some ectoplasm in his hands and dives towards the approaching animals. He blasts away a couple of ghost octopi and quickly sucks them into the thermos, then moves on towards the center of the stampede.

Why did a stampede include sea animals? Sometimes its better not to ask.

Jin Ling fired another flame coated arrow at another ghost, distracting it from going after Danny. He sometimes would shift his positioning to throw them off.

Hopefully, it will assist Danny in further getting the first hit in.

Jin Ling is completely and utterly confused why there are sea animals but he's got too many other important things to be concerned with. If it isn't enough, Fairy is also helping Danny with asserting her dominance.

Danny takes a moment to wave back in acknowledgement at the help before throwing himself back into the fight. He settles into a quick pattern of movement, striking at a ghost just strong enough to stun it before sucking it into the thermos. He takes a few hits, but not enough to slow him down.

Jin Ling will jump in to help wherever there may be hiccups. There's silence on his end as he's focused on keeping the ghosts at bay.

He wondered how many more they were going to face? Maybe he should ask before he exhausted his own energy.

"How many of them are there?! Please tell me they'll stop coming at some point right?!"

Danny finally pulls the last one from this group into the thermos and slams it closed. He allows his shoulders to sag slightly in tiredness.

"I wish. My world is connected to an entire dimension of them. Back when I was here all the time I could guard the portals and keep it mostly under control. But now they've had an entire year without me here, so who knows how many are in the real world."

Jin Ling lowered his bow, as he heaves a tired sigh. There's some fatigue on his face, but nothing he can't curb with some rest. It's just one adventure after another. Thankfully, they both managed to get through the situation, pretty okay, he thinks.

"Are you saying that it's gone haywire because you've been absent for an entire year and that this -- town is filled with more of them? That's crazy! What about your parents? You mentioned something about them!"

"Hence why I haven't had a break since I got here." Danny was starting to question how he had lived like this before. It just never stopped.

His smile freezes as he glances away.

"I tried to find them. But lets just say they didn't take it well that a second Danny was running around, when the first one is in a coma. They're blaming Phantom for everything." A grimace. "And since I wasn't here as Phantom either, they've been putting all their time into figuring out where I was. The ghost shields are theres, but I don't think they've been doing much hunting. And most of the human ghost hunters just aren't all that good."

There was Val, but he hadn't seen her since arriving here. And the rest would rather hunt him instead of the other ghosts.

"Tell me about it. I can't imagine you having to do this on a daily basis."

It was almost like night hunting every single day of the week. It was definitely exhausting on so many levels. Jin Ling almost felt bad for him.

"That's-- isn't that a bit much? They're your parents. How could they easily just brush it off like that?"

He didn't get. Maybe because he was used to his parents seeing him the way he was and regardless of situation, accepted him more openly. At the same time, he never spent a minute with his parents until recently, and that was because he was shafted into a place that brought back people that passed away.

So, he could sort of feel for Danny in some way.

"They could be trained, can't they? You can't be the only sole person that handles all these attacks at once, right?"

Danny shrugs uncomfortably. The situation with his parents was... complicated.

"They're my parents and they love me? But they also think all ghosts are evil. I mean, it isn't really a surprise that they'd blame something happening to me on ghosts."

He frowns.

"I was kind of hoping that they'd figure it out since I wasn't here." He makes a face. "But who's going to train them? They won't take any advice from a ghost."
