Swirling Consequences: Conclusion
SWIRLING CONSEQUENCES: CONCLUSION
A week is a long time to be trudging across a world, helping dralites and people, closing voidtears and fighting chinchillas. But a week it has been. Most of the farmers have gotten used to having the voidtreckers around, and a friendly rapport flows between those helping out gathering and looking after the animals.
Most of the farm animals have been relocated and returned to their farms. Parts of the enclosures are still in need of repair, but there have also been efforts to improve farm perimeters with electric fencing. The farmers are still getting to grips with that, and many are busy rebuilding small outhouses or pens that were damaged in all the chaos.
Aid has trickled through to the further away communities, and the communities have rallied to support the displaced people who didn't manage to be returned home. They are a welcoming bunch, many of the farmers come from families brought from other worlds after all.
Around the mountain of Ciyesia, things are calming. The dralite have finally relocated their young, and though there are repairs needed here too to the nesting grounds, the screeching has finally quietened, and the forests are still.
Towards the afternoon of the thirteenth day of the month of Quicksand, the voidtrecker's SCAs glow with the colours of the void. The same purple and blue skinned woman as before sits behind the same wooden desk. She looks a little less stern this time.
"Thank you Voidtreckers, your efforts have been noteworthy. Things are stabilising, and from all monitoring reports, you have successfully dealt with the void twisted creatures that managed to slip through into system #5739. It looks like the tears in the void have also been patched; we will send some experts in to finish off, but they will hold until we get a team there. After the video ends, there are a few hours for everyone to finish up their tasks, to say goodbye to any new friends- people or animals -before boarding the train once more. The train meets them at the platform in the woods it deposited them at, the doors opening so the weary voidtreckers can board once more.
The wider mission has also been a success. The ripples have been neutralised for now. We thank you for your efforts. If you could please fill in the report form sent to your SCA's and submit them for our mission audit team, that would be very helpful for us.
We would like to remind you that risky experimentation such as your untethering attempts are best done by trained professionals. We understand you were not fully in control of the situation, and so no action is being taken by the Inspection arm at this time. However, in more positive news, we have managed to gather data from the scene of that incident and our void scientists are currently working on a further understanding of your tethers.
We will be in touch."
The train leads them through the woods, further along the hillside before it rises into the air, flying up into a sky streaked with faint lines of colour. And then there's a shudder, and the world outside the windows is replaced with the kaleidoscope imagery of the void once more.

Voidcraft: VoidTrecker Express
Mission Report
Void date: Quicksand 13
System No.: #5739
Summary of Events: Commander Orlaith informed us that there were void ripples.
We set up at the Weary Wanderer Inn. Had an incident where a crew member was affected by the environment and had himself a real bad time, but he and his family did their solid best to keep it in check.
Crew went on rescue missions first, mostly, and engaged in supply collection. Prioritized refugees and civilians over Dralites which led to some chick casualties, but I think the call was the correct one.
Proceeded to shut down void tears and set up defenses against aggressive animals.
Reception from locals: Recieved no opposition from locals. They were cooperative in defensive construction efforts which sped up the process.
Threats encountered: Recieved opposition from chinchillas, goats, aggressive dralite parents, and mutated chimera void vomit creatures.
Anomalies and Interference: void tears, refugees
Any other comments or queries: What causes the bio-fusions related to the void tears? Requesting more information on that and the effects on life in general, especially mammals.
Can Blutz wave readings be added to the SCA as a possible health alert for sensitive parties? Allergy alarms as example.
Would like to request basic mission kits that include some kind of multitool and knife, thin rope cord, small first aid that won't set off locals in low power missions, bottle with filter, glowsticks, and hardy tape.
Would like to request some additional medical transport gear. Hover technology applied so that smaller crew can push larger injured to safety if required. Some of our crew is still very young, very small, and often assigned to low-combat assignments of helping the wounded.
Please list any other voidcraft present so that reports can be correctly cross referenced. Nothing that was visible. If anything else was there it was using cloaking.
Ministry Report - Thanatos
Voidcraft: VoidTrecker Express, sometimes known as "Voidy" by passengers
Mission Report
Void date: Quicksand 13 as stated by our Voidcraft
System No.: #5739
Summary of Events: Commander Orlaith contacted our craft after the failed attempts to sever our tethers. Our Red Team was instructed to fight the voidblobs, establish safe perimeters around communities, and close voidtears.
I focused on fighting the voidblobs and helping VoidTreckers move from place to place via the transgates. I am able to shift locations, so I kept one end with me and served as a mobile gate.
The voidblobs did not respond immediately to my powers of death. They took many attempts to cut their threads. However, they also did not seem to give any appearance of weakening until they perished completely.
Reception from locals: Not applicable, did not interact with the local population
Threats encountered: Voidblobs, much larger voidblobs
Anomalies and Interference: Voidblobs, voidtears
Any other comments or queries: Only my usual request for any information passed on from my world about the current situation there. Circumstances have since changed, so I hope it aids the Ministry's attempts to work with the gods.
Please list any other voidcraft present so that reports can be correctly cross referenced. None that were obsevered. Perhaps Commander Orlaith would know of any others that might have been in the area.
(Once someone shows him how to speech-to-text... X3)
Voidcraft: The Voidtrecker Express.
Mission Report
Void date: I think the train said Quicksand 13. Is Quicksand a real month name around here?
System No.: Let's see... it says #5739.
Summary of Events: The train landed on the world, everyone got out, and then it flew away. We all went to the Weary Wanderer inn and met Señora Albany, then most of us spent some time planning and getting things organized.
I helped copy some maps for people who were going out to deliver relief supplies, then later I went out and tried to help too. I gathered some fruit cup flowers for medicine- and remembered to get some seeds to bring back to the train for the greenhouse there-, helped those bat-bird things- dralites, I think they were called- with their eggs and babies that had gotten lost, and helped find a few lost sheep. I also helped close a void tear; it was terrifying, but... I needed to do something to justify being called a 'Void hero', you know?
Then eventually things calmed down, the train came back for us, and we all got back on and left.
Reception from locals: Everyone was really kind and helpful. Especially Señora Albany; there were a lot of us and it was really kind of her to host us the whole time we were there.
Threats encountered: Well I ran into some angry dralites, but got away OK. And I kind got stuck in a bush, but I wouldn't really call that a threat, you know?
Anomalies and Interference: Mostly the weather; it started getting pretty stormy the longer we were there. And then of course there were the Voidtears. They were... well I don't know what they were, other than terrifying. I'm glad they're gone though.
Any other comments or queries: It's not about the mission, really, but um... someone mentioned that the Ministry might have a way of contacting my family back home to let them know I'm alright? If that's true, just let me know, and I'll do whatever I can to help.
Please list any other voidcraft present so that reports can be correctly cross referenced. I didn't see any others.

Mission Report
Void date: quicksand?
System No.: yelling heights. you sent us there. system hub #5739
Summary of Events: you sent us a message about a world having voidtears and voidstorms so we went down and sorted it out. they had storms everywhere and all the farm animals were spooked so we had to help out them and the farmers. it wasn't that bad really, we've had worse missions before
Reception from locals: okay. they were cool and let us stay with them since we were helping them out
Threats encountered: things called voidblobs that looked like if a kid stuck together animal toys with jelly. gross
Anomalies and Interference: the voidtears and the voidblobs. we didn't have anyone come and interfere with the mission
Any other comments or queries: can we have a way to contact the ministry in case we need them? like sending messages or an emergency any of us can send out. at least someone we can speak to

Designation: Faux.
Voidcraft: The Voidtrecker Express.
Mission Report
Void date: Quicksand 13.
System No.: #5739.
Summary of Events: Void ripples were detected by a user identified as Commander Orlaith. He then contacted us to help deal with them. They were found to be a result of this voidcraft's previous failed attempt to sever our tethers.
The majority of the crew used the Weary Wanderer inn as a base of operations for the duration of our stay.
Mission comprised of various goals dependent on team allocation. Primary objectives were Red Team focused associated tasks. Secondary focus on Orange Team associated tasks.
Red tasks consisted of:
Contribution consisted of ground and aerial reconnaissance; primarily searching for and plotting routes to located void storms with suspected voidtears within them.
Voidtear closures.
Patrol duties around rudimentary perimeters.
The termination of aggressive foreign wildlife: Voidblob (S)+(L).
Orange tasks consisted of:
Location and procurement of plant based materials: Fruit cups, Purple stars, miscellaneous herbs.
Reception from locals: Agreeable, with occasional disparaging looks towards non-typical user conforming crew mates.
Threats encountered: Multiple voidblobs (S)+(L). Insidious smaller forest wildlife operating in large groups. Multicolored lightning and weather phenomenon from voidtears.
Anomalies and Interference: Large localised weather storms. Multicolored lightning and weather phenomenon from voidtears.
Any other comments or queries: I have since noticed a pattern pertaining to the void calendar given to us by the Train. Each month is ascending through a user alphabetical index system. What possibly happens when the end of that index is reached? Is this to be of some concern?
The VoidTreker Express seems to be in need of maintenance.

Voidcraft: The Voidtrecker Express
Mission Report
Void date: Quicksand 13. Our mission started a week ago if that makes it easier with your date system.
System No.: #5739
Summary of Events: We arrived in the system shortly after commander Orlaith asked us to. We found that the world had been shaken by void storms. Many of the wildlife were panicked or suffering from loss of habitat. The people who farm the land were also having trouble with livestock being missing or cut off from their farms. There were large fused monsters that the locals had named 'voidblobs' and tears in the void that needed to be closed. Over the last week we have had teams working on all of those problems. We managed to close the rifts and help the people repair the infrastructure and care for the animals.
Reception from locals: They seemed to understand the void and were happy enough for our help.
Threats encountered: There were some chinchillas that appeared to be the natural predator of the mountains. The voidblobs were coming from the voidtears.
Anomalies and Interference: The voidtears perhaps count. We met no resistance.

Ministry Report That I Totally Didn't Forget To Post c.c
Voidcraft: Voidtrecker Express
Mission Report
Void date: 771.291.090901128.100021563.36
System No.: #5739
Summary of Events: Strong voidstorms seemingly connected to the attempt of the Voidtrecker Express to send many of its crew home were taking place on #5739. Wild beasts were driven to unusal aggression and the native population of the star were struggling against the catastrophe. The crew was sent to aid in recovery, rescue and support.
Reception from locals: The natives welcomed us and were willing to accept our aid. I had little trouble finding manpower to aid with building defenses or organizing supply runs to outlying towns.
Threats encountered:
Amalgamations commonly called 'voidblobs'. An aberration of fused creatures both sentient and not that came through the void tears. Their only goal seemed to be that of slaughter and they would fixate on their target until they were killed. The natives of #5739 claimed they had never seen their like before, though void storms were not uncommon.
Dralites, a birdlike creature with large wings. Native or long established to this world but normally a low threat. The storm and the aggressive creatures scattered their young. As they are highly protective of their offspring, they were encroaching on the local population in the search. Fortunately, returning their offspring dead or alive was sufficient to quell this threat.
Horn-Crowned Goats, a grazing animal with a crown of spiked, bone-like antlers. They are highly aggressive and were made moreso by the storms. Fortunately a relatively easy creature to deter for many of our combatants.
A 'giant chinchilla'. Carnivorous and often feeds on the young of the livestock herds. They appear to have some manifestation of shadow substance attached to their bodies. I wasn't able to take the time to study this in detail and learn if it was connected to their nature or that their anscestors were brought through a voidstorm long ago.
Anomalies and Interference:
Voidtears were particularly troublesome but didn't appear to be unusual for the events taking place. However I have no way to reference the relative severity of voidstorms and their side effects.
Any other comments or queries:
Pray send information you have on case studies of tethers, not just what is related to our own circumstances. Also texts and studies on voidstorms, void tear phenomenon and voidspace in general. These will aid if we are sent on a mission related to these phenomenon again. Textbooks and studies of medicines which are helpful against voidtravel's side effects will also be useful. If you can't provide these, pray give titles and how to procure them so we may do so ourselves.

Voidcraft: Voidtrecker Express
Mission Report
Void date: Quicksand 13
System No.: #5739
Summary of Events: We received a request from Commander Orlaith to assist with stabilizing the system after the effects of the Voidtrecker Express’ experiment to return its passengers home caused problems across the void.
The first night, I assisted at the Weary Wanderer Inn with food preparation. After that I focused my talents on collecting plants and creating potions. On the third day, I sought those who’d been trapped by the weather effects, cut off from main roads to ensure they had the supplies they needed during the cleaning up period, and to ensure they were not entirely cut off from medical aid should they need it.
After that, the dralites became much more aggressively upset and I focused on getting them away from people and helping them locate their missing young. I also helped corral some farm animals for the farmers. I did not engage with any voidblobs.
Reception from locals: I didn’t encounter any resistance from the local population, many were grateful for the assistance provided.
Threats encountered: Dralites caused minor inconveniences. Monkeys also seemed disturbed with our presence.
Anomalies and Interference: Void tears in the sky.
Any other comments or queries: None.
Please list any other voidcraft present so that reports can be correctly cross referenced.
None were noticed, didn’t encounter any other void travelers.

Voidcraft: Voidtrecker Express
Mission Report
Void date: Quicksand 13
System No.: #5739
Summary of Events: We arrived on the planet and were directed to the Weary Wanderer inn. As often happens with missions, the Voidtrecker then temporarily departed, leaving us to it. We set up something of a base of operations at the inn, using it both as a place to stay and as a central hub to plan our operations while on world. The proprietor, Ms. Albany, was both helpful and remarkably tolerant of our large and rather motley crew effectively taking over her inn for a week.
I spent roughly the first half of that week coordinating and then executing a relief mission to a local village and its surrounding farmsteads that had been seriously impacted by the Voidstorms. We distributed food and other needed supplies, provided medical care, and helped them begin rebuilding. Our efforts there were successful and things looked to be on their way to being back to normal by the time we left the world.
The rest of my time on world was largely spent assisting dralites by returning their chicks to their nests, assisting with anchoring to help displaced people return home, then recovering from the exhaustion caused by the latter.
The Voidtrecker then returned to pick us up and we returned to the Void right on schedule.
Reception from locals: Peaceful and helpful. Most were willing to pitch in and help out themselves when needed and possible, which was something of a breath of fresh air compared to some missions I've been on. And as implied above, Ms. Albany was an excellent hostess.
Threats encountered: For my part, largely Voidstorms and angry dralites, though I know others saw far more direct threats.
Anomalies and Interference: Voidstorms and Voidtears, though the latter I only encountered indirectly.
Any other comments or queries: No relevant queries at this time, but I would like to recognize my fellow Voidtreckers Jake Peralta and Death for their particular assistance with the relief mission, and Ms. Albany for all her assistance and hospitality.
Please list any other voidcraft present so that reports can be correctly cross referenced.
Nozomi Yumehara | OTA
But, she just can't.
There was usually a bigger threat to all of this. Something that showed up and caused even more trouble and they would have to put it down... and that wasn't here. Maybe it was because of the situation that caused it, being the train's attempt to send them home. It still didn't ease her nerves.
"I don't like this at all."
Re: Nozomi Yumehara | OTA
Okay farmers couldn't have closed voidtears or fought voidblobs. But still...
Re: Nozomi Yumehara | OTA
She took a thoughtful pose. “Was this really because of what the train did?”
Re: Nozomi Yumehara | OTA
It made no sense, it kidnapped them, it almost broke the void.
She hadn't known that was even possible.

Thanatos | Red | OTA
Clean up time
[ Thanatos had mostly taken a supportive role this mission. Sure, he fought the voidblobs (if standing from a distance and attempting to slice the threads over and over until they died counted as fighting), but beyond that, he helped with moving people from place to place. Now, he's packing up for the train with the others and checking to see if anyone needs a bit of healing. ]Do you need help with that?
Pensive thoughts... and a potential haircut?!
[ There isn't a mission to focus on anymore, so Thanatos's mind wanders to back home. Had there been voidtears and voidblobs there? He had seen what looked to be images of the Void at the end of his stay. Was everything okay back there? Have the Ministry made actual contact with the gods and finding away to do something about the lack of death and the eternal winter?Thanatos sighs and twists a lock of his hair between his fingers. One thing is for certain, he needs a haircut before the next mission. It's just too long and had gotten in the way more than once. He really should have done it much earlier.
Actually, what is he waiting for? Thanatos lowers his hood, gathers a chunk of his hair, and summons his sword.... ]

He sees Thanatos and is about to nod in greeting to him when the man summons his sword, drawing down his hood. It makes Taiki startle with a gasp.
He's mostly able to keep his intrinsic fear of weapons pushed down, but it had been quite out of the blue.]

However, before he even cuts a single strand, he hears Taiki's gasp and pulls his sword away. ]

Rezo is in the process of transporting a basket of blankets to the laundry area- or more accurately, standing and zoning out while he’s supposed to be walking- when Thanatos finds him, and he startles a little at the voice before vaguely recognizing it as the Laundry Boss.]
Oh. No, it’s not heavy, but thank you.

But, he is the one asking Reds to please consider doing the chores even if they don't participate in the suggested Red missions. And this month is laundry.... ]
Are there more to gather still?
[ This current load of laundry was placed in the washer after Thanatos had shifted with the bundle in his arms. He planned to shift back and forth between the cars and the laundry room, but if all the dirty sheets are here, then more people helped than he thought. ]

Rezo Greywords
Rezo had gotten back to the inn- or rather, had been hauled back to the inn after he’d gone and fainted in front of someone- just in time for Commander Orlaith’s little announcement. The next few hours are thus spent packing (not a long process, as he’s been mostly hauling everything around with him already) and helping to put the Weary Wanderer back to rights after its temporary employment as Void Trecker HQ. Thus, you may catch him moving chairs and tables back into their original positions, or stripping beds of their sheets and blankets. Help him out, perhaps? Yell at him to sit down? Try to take advantage of his inattention to trip him up?
After the train takes off, Rezo does not head to his room to unpack, but instead heads for the kitchen. There, he grabs a plate, and heads to the food stores, where he proceeds to cover his plate with food. (What kind of food? Anything and everything- his only criteria is it be immediately edible.) He then heads back through the kitchen, to the dining car, where he plonks himself down at the nearest bench and proceeds to methodically devour everything.
Feel free to interrupt him at any point during this; although after he’s done eating he may just fall asleep at the table.
[[ooc: and insert usual disclaimer that if you wanna hmu for some other sort of prompt, just ask~]]
train time choo choo
She had seen him, of course. Noted his disposition and checked every once in a while to make sure he wasn't doing something stupid. But overall, she had left Rezo to his own devices because, well, she wasn't his keeper or anything; and he was still breathing so... fine. It was fine.
Once aboard the train however, she made a point to try and find him. Thinking he would actually rest was probably too optimistic on her part — but seeing him as he slipped into the dining car with a few hearty plates of food wasn't so terrible an alternative. At least he was eating?
She hesitated for a few moments before following, making her way to the table he had settled at not long after he started his meal. She didn't sit with him, not at first, and instead just moved to the edge of the table, fingers gently rapping on the wood. "Good to see you finally sitting down again." She said, sounding genuinely grateful that the man was taking some time for himself. "How are you feeling?" hungry, apparently. That was a lot of food.
no subject
Thanks to Commander Orlaith’s impeccable timing, Rezo hadn’t gotten a chance to speak with Lioriley after being returned to the inn, which he hopes (likely fruitlessly, he knows) means she didn’t witness the state he was returned in. Hearing her now spills out an internal mixture of emotions; relief to hear from her, embarrassment that he’s likely a visible mess, a touch of nervousness that this conversation will turn similarly fraught to the one they had this morning.
Rather than try and explain any of that to her, Rezo settles on “I am fine,” then adds, “I believe I will be retiring early, however.”
