Fighting Headstrong in our Final Hour: Purple Start
The Voiddream is a sleek voidcraft, more like a spaceship than any other vehicle. Everyone is ushered into one of the rooms, where around the edges are comfortable seats, and in the centre a number of large tables with wooden benches. The crew is rather small, consisting of Anan and her crew, the voidtreckers, and a handful of other Osigan void ministry staff.
The journey goes smoothly enough. The Voiddream moves a little differently than the Voidtrecker Express, but not in a way that makes it hard for the passengers to get used to quickly. But they feel it when they stop, and Anan's voice comes over the speakers.
"We are at the system that Chaos created. We are going to breach the seal now. Brace yourselves -- it might get a little rough.
We don't know what will happen once we are through, but be prepared for anything. Stick together, and remember that most of what you will see is not real."
The craft shakes and twists as Anan and her crew work on undoing the seal that they created, at least enough to allow a craft through. Outside the windows the void fades, and they are met with vivid purple skies, so bright as to be glowing.
OUR FINAL HOUR: PURPLE
WORLD OF OUR OWN. The craft sails through the purple skies to a suitable landing spot. Trees of all kinds grow from the ground, with large flowers twisting around them. Hopefully the Voidtreckers need no warning to keep their SCA's on as they step down off the voidcraft. It feels as if they are in a jungle, trees and flowers stretching up to the skies above them.
There are paths, winding through the giant trees so comically large. They are made of purple bricks, roughly fitted together as they move through the forest. For those that can see beyond the forest, be that by mystical means or by flying high enough above the trees' canopies, they will see a city in the distance, shimmering in the sunlight.
PROWLING THREATS. It is apparent straight away that they are not alone. A low growling can be heard on the peripheries, getting closer. A sense of trepidation fills them involuntarily.
Most cultures have monsters in their stories, some worlds have monsters that are real. And as the creatures emerge, that is what a Voidtrecker will see -- a monster from legend, story or nightmare, leaping out at them. It's not real, they know that, and those that can see through illusions or resist such mind effects will see just twisted shadows, golden threads of illusion guiding their motions and attacks.
But it will fight to exist, and fight exactly how the Voidtrecker knows it would. The core inside it must be struck, to bring down the illusion completely.
MIRED IN IMAGINATION. Monsters are not the only oddities to come from this place. As they move through the forest, Voidtreckers will find it shifts and fades. They are in a place from home, or a world they have visited on the train. They are where a wonderful thing happened, or a place where they received terrible news. Those who have fought Chaos before know to keep their mind clear, to know it is not real.
And yet -- it feels real as they stumble from place to place. As monsters dive at them, and as their very minds are turned against them. The more isolated are the most susceptible, as if making it easier for the illusions to ensnare them.
It's why going off ahead alone isn't always the best plan...

WORK TO DO
They can't let themselves get distracted, they have a lot of work to do and not so much time to do it.
OOC Post ~ Questions
Note that Chaos will not answer in this part- that will come during ongoing. However, if you want to ask about any reactions to the 'HEY LISTEN' prompt, please ask us over here!
SEALS. For now the breach needs to stay open, so the shapes can be drawn in when the beacon is lit. But new seals must be set and made ready, both to breach the gap and also to strengthen the seals already around the world.
Their map shows them points where the seals need to be set. Anan and her crew will help them to connect the seals in a way that means they can be activated altogether when the time comes.
It is a task that will take them around the whole system, and they will find some truly bizarre things. Most of the world, when it is not taken up by places from their imagination, is a jungle of impossibly tall trees and flowers. But sometimes they will come across a meadow, or a lake, or an entire mountain range. Nothing fits together logically: they can stumble from boiling hot temperatures to freezing tundra in a matter of moments.
It's hard to know how to prepare as they follow the points on the map.
THE BEACON. The seals are not the only thing that need to be set up in advance. They need to have a large beacon, to attract the world eaters.
It is crystalline in nature and large enough that it will need a team to carry it safely. There is a desired spot on the map where it should go, but getting there will be difficult. Rivers and cliffs stand in the way, often when they were not before. It is almost like the world itself is trying to stop them moving freely.
HEY LISTEN. The world itself or the being that controls it. For all the world is clearly trying to chase them off, the skies themselves are silent.
But this whole plan hinges on them getting Chaos to help them, and so they will need to get their attention somehow. Hopefully it can be done without angering the melodramatic being that created this world.
What will the Voidtreckers think to do? If only someone had a really loud megaphone.

Kiyoiri Matsuda | OTA
[At the start of their mission as they board the Voiddream and are ushered to their crew room, Kiyoiri is largely silent. She signed on deliberately for this task; she's experienced Chaos before, and to that end has even brought something ostensibly unrelated to the matter entirely. Certainly, she has her medical pack.
But there is a wrapped box as well, which she treats with utmost care. The journey begins smoothly, and Kiyoiri eventually stands- now, is as good a time as ever.]
Takechirou, [she speaks, gently bringing her crow from her shoulder.] Do you remember Chaos? When we fought last, you took the shape of a Foreigner. Now, we know who Chaos is- we need to defend, but also connect to them. We need to understand each other again. Do you understand?
Cauw! [says Takechirou, and Kiyoiri nods.]
Good. Then- take the form of a Servant who will do this...
[Takechirou hops from her hand- the familiar sight of him freezing into a blob of black midair, pouring dark formless black to the floor from that spot, fills the view of those nearby. Rather than grow especially tall however, the dark collects into a smaller shape.
A shape that Kiyoiri stares at... ...and then, perhaps inexplicably, gives a watery smile.] ...of course...
Caster..! Nursery Rhyme!
...Well done, Takechirou.
[ON MISSION - SEALS, TERRAIN, AND MORE]
[Once they've arrived, Kiyoiri wastes little time- the world is alien, and yet she walks through with an uncanny ease. The scenery is ever changing, and sometimes her accompanying 'servant' is even left to create bridges of giant biscuits and playing cards, the whimsical additions to the scenery only adding to the strange forests-cities-plains. She follows the map they have with great care- occasionally pausing to stand upon some fantastical mushroom to overlook the area before gesturing for those with to follow.]
The next seal should be set not far from here.... [she trails off, humming.] ...Are you alright so far? ...My Mystic Code helps to avoid the temperature changes, but they have been very extreme.
[HEY, LISTEN - AN OFFERING]
[They have come to a place where it is quiet.
There are no monsters here- and even when there were, Kiyoiri ordered 'Nursery Rhyme' with plenty skill enough that fantasty was countered back with fantasy.
The land is 'stable'- it is strange and bizarre yes, but where they stand could almost be called a place from home. Perhaps, in fact, it is. Kiyoiri has even invited it, if anything. It isn't real, this much she knows-
But she happily invites Chaos to experience, from her memory, the beaches of Hawaii as she pulls forward that wrapped box.]
...I didn't know if I would see you again, [she says honestly, even while her company listens. These are words for Chaos, words that expect no answer- but answer is not what matters for the current moment. That comes later.
She doesn't want this gift marred by the image of bribery.
(Perhaps Chaos can glean that very understanding from her mind.)]
...So I brought you this. ...We shared our pain- we shared our experiences. I want you to be able to share something I enjoyed, despite all the pain that was, and the pain that followed. These...are stories, [she quietly says, gently untying the rope that holds the box closed.]
I created them with my greatest friend...
...A friend I no longer know the location of.

Mina Mongoose (AU) | Purple Team | Open
Mina was warned about the various threats that laid before them, what Chaos could do and what may lie ahead. They warned her about how it could bring about monsters from stories and their imaginations.
But, Mina had her own monsters from home and they were real. Ripping through the trees that blocked her path were a set of gigantic robots that even tower normal humans.
[PRIORITY TWO: MONGOOSE] they droned
"Looks like I went up the ranks..."
B) Mired in Imagination
Drat! Mina looked around her surroundings and realized something deathly wrong - she took a wrong turn and now she's separated from the others. No problem, she has the means to get back. She needs a moment to concentrate...
But, Chaos isn't going to give her the chance. The ground shakes and moves, water rushes and floods, the air turns from scorching heat to freezing cold.
The entire land has gone completely nuts and Mina is caught in the middle!
Re: Mina Mongoose (AU) | Purple Team | Open
It still requires concentration, that's how strong Chaos is. But here as the ground shakes and water rushes in he can see the energy behind it, it is still dangerous.
He transforms, flying out to where he can see the figure in the middle of the maelstrom.
"Stay as still as you can, I'm coming." He calls out, as a dark horned beast flies towards her.
no subject
Of course, the beast coming at her isn’t reassuring as it should be.
“I hope that’s you!”
no subject
He steadies himself and doesn't quite land, but gets close enough to the ground for her to reach out. "Can you climb on?"
no subject
Mina nods and leaps up at him, catching herself and pulling herself on top. "Thanks for the save."
no subject
Once he is sure she is steady he speaks again. "You can hold my mane if you wish, I'm going to fly."
He could fly very smoothly, but with all this weather happening it might be a little bumpy.
General Amaya | Team Purple | Open Prompts
What she sees is terrifying enough to anyone - the enhanced, bestial army that Viren had brought to the final battle beneath the mountain of the Dragon Queen. Lurching, strong figures, lined here and there by lights from within, like cracks above magma. The beasts he had made ordinary soldiers into as part of his planned genocide.
And oh, do they fight the same, and oh does it feel the same - like she has to fight to strike down people who she had once trained.
Mired in Imagination
It's her sister's memorial. Damn Chaos for presenting her with that. She knows it isn't real, that Serai isn't buried beneath it. But it hardly matters, under the circumstances. It feels real, and that's all there is to it.
If it's a distraction, it's a good one, since it leaves her fighting back tears - and fuelled with incredible anger. Which means that the first monster that dives at her meets the bottom of her shield coming the other way - a sharpened defensive weapon that slices its head clean from its body.
Far from defeating her - it has encouraged her to aim for berserk.
Seals/Beacons Prompts
[Happy to work something up with a partner for these! Let me know if you have any thoughts!]
Mired in IMagination
But right now her focus was on someone else.
"Need help?" She had noticed the monster and the scene that was before them so she figured to ask.

Guri | Team Purple | OTA
She's not happy about this mission. She's been getting around to feeling things, figuring out who she is, what she wants - who she wants, and in what capacity. And here she is, instead, on a fate-of-the-galaxy type mission instead.
It's a bit petty of her, which she knows - and that's also a human feeling she'd like to explore, positive or not. Being unable to entirely devote herself to the logical - and being caught up in something subjective and personal. Her ultimate goal has been to grow as a person, and a chaotic, high-stakes mission puts all that in jeopardy.
Which means she is in no mood to waste time dealing with what are clearly illusions to her. Perhaps you find her tearing the core out of one with her bare hands - or multiple, if she has to. Perhaps you find her using her blaster to pick them apart to make the process easier.
Or, just perhaps, you find yourself surrounded - and hearing her call "get down!" before the space all around you erupts in bright red bolts of blaster fire as her heavy repeater opens up, dealing catastrophic damage to everything in the area.
Seals
She's used to the environments she keeps finding herself in - those are not a difficulty to her. She's seen stranger, after all. But it is the illogical way in which they fit together that gives her processors some pause.
And the snowy peak she currently finds herself on presents a danger both to herself and her companion.
"Trust your hands, not your eyes!" she calls. It's easier to get a good grip by hand than to judge it by sight.
[Other prompts available upon request!]
Kitty Pryde | OTA
[ Despite knowing the dangers and hearing the warnings of what they would be facing, Kitty can't help feeling nervous. They've been in similar situations before, after all, only this time, as Chaos was going to throw everything at them to protect itself and this world, she knows that things were going to be much worse.
She tries to keep her mind clear, because she has an idea of what could be used against her. So when the looming figure appears from the darkness, Kitty is more frustrated than surprised. ]
Of course it's that...
Seals
[ Kitty is glad that she decided to bring her drone with her. While the abrupt change in terrain was difficult to accommodate for, having the drone to scout ahead at least allowed her to warn her fellow Voidtreckers what they would be coming across next. It wasn't too much of a heads up, but it's better than nothing.
Double-checking the map to make sure she points the drone in the right direction, Kitty pilots it carefully towards the next area. Wouldn't want it getting damaged, after all... ]

Leia Organa | OTA
[Leia can see through the strange jungle. And the monsters... well, they're certainly a problem, but one she can handle with the help of her fellow Voidtreckers. The most difficult parts to get through, for her, are also the most pleasant. Illusory fragments of Alderaan.
Surely it wouldn't hurt to linger in the illusion of the palace gardens? Just for a moment?]
The Beacon
[But there's still work to do. And as yet another body of water appears to block their path- literally appears, right in front of them- Leia has had just about enough of these shenanigans.]
Oh for Force's sake... [She looks up at the sky.] I'm sure you're getting a good laugh out of this, but we do have things to be getting on with, you know.
