Day 11 Catfish - everybody else!

Evacuation

Once Rath and Voidtrecker volunteers go off to Blue Mountain the rest of the scientists get ready for the final evacuation off planet.

Earthquakes are regular enough now that it seems strange when the earth is not shaking. It makes it difficult to pack the last of the equipment, get the final lindusi into their containers and start boarding the shuttles.

They need help everywhere, people to ride with the lindusi, others to keep the evacuees calm. Others to carry equipment and load shuttles. People to keep children occupied and out of the way. Slowly but surely the shuttles are loaded and the journey begins.

Space Station

There are scientists and guards waiting at the space station to help unload, lindusi need unloading and taken to containing pens. People need reunited with those that evacuated before them and registered, in an attempt to make sure everyone is accounted for.

The Voidtreckers may do what they like once the work is done, a time to relax after a job well done. Or to fret about those who are still on the planet.

In the control room there is an attempt to keep radio contact with the group on the ground, but as the planet destabilises more it gets more difficult. Signs show that the planet has mere hours before it can not sustain human life anymore.

But the scientists seem to have some faith that these void warriors are up for the job.

Jessie nods in agreement,"Blasting rocks was a focus, can't flare when needing to aim!"

"Or dodge," he agrees with a quiet hum. "If I may ask, how long have these flares been happening?"

"For as long as I can remember." Jessie is leaving out the coffin for now.

Ah fear. Maglor knows it well. Fear, and what tends not to be said. "I am willing to listen, if you wish to talk."

"Just never been able to handle tight spaces.' Jessie admits. "Had a few scares on the train like getting locked in a closet by accident. That was pre making the luggage car my smoking perch." she explained.
seawanderer: (Then there was one)

He winces in sympathy. "Being restrained to such a small space for days on end is...a challenge, and I do not have quite that fear. I'm used to being out, walking along the sea. Occasionally wandering inland, but not all that often."

'The train is that much harder.' Jessie admits. "Sure the closet was an honest accident but the flare risk is always there. One reason I smoke in the back car is space." she nods at Maglor.

"I would be happy to play my harp for you, try to calm some of the flares?" He's fairly sure he could succeed, but he won't force it on her.
