Day 11 Catfish - everybody else!
Evacuation
Once Rath and Voidtrecker volunteers go off to Blue Mountain the rest of the scientists get ready for the final evacuation off planet.
Earthquakes are regular enough now that it seems strange when the earth is not shaking. It makes it difficult to pack the last of the equipment, get the final lindusi into their containers and start boarding the shuttles.
They need help everywhere, people to ride with the lindusi, others to keep the evacuees calm. Others to carry equipment and load shuttles. People to keep children occupied and out of the way. Slowly but surely the shuttles are loaded and the journey begins.
Space Station
There are scientists and guards waiting at the space station to help unload, lindusi need unloading and taken to containing pens. People need reunited with those that evacuated before them and registered, in an attempt to make sure everyone is accounted for.
The Voidtreckers may do what they like once the work is done, a time to relax after a job well done. Or to fret about those who are still on the planet.
In the control room there is an attempt to keep radio contact with the group on the ground, but as the planet destabilises more it gets more difficult. Signs show that the planet has mere hours before it can not sustain human life anymore.
But the scientists seem to have some faith that these void warriors are up for the job.

A sigh escaped Ignis and he was quiet a moment. "I'm rather glad he's been such a huge help to you and your family." Not that he needed confirmation but it was such as to how he'd been lucky in having such a wonderful man in his life. One that he wished he could take home with him whenever the train was done with the two of them.
"That is quite true. And if we're on the same schedule it should be quiet for a little while until the next mission, giving us more time to prepare." That would mean his team specifically.

Maglor reaches out to lightly clasp and squeeze the man's shoulder, both in thanks and in understanding. He's not jealous of what Ignis and Tony have- both are good, kind men and he's glad they aren't alone.
"And we'd best make the most of it." He could guess what comes next, in a couple weeks or so. Time is a funny thing, as he'd told Tony before. "I hope you will let me know if I can help you in your preparations."

The kindness was extending to help after this too and he smiled gratefully. "I've need to train my team and have them function more cohesively as a unit." That included getting Madoka trained up by Raven.
"If you have the time I would appreciate the assistance. Romeo could use more hands on training." Which was true.
no subject
"Just tell me when, and how challenging I should make the training. Otherwise, I'll have them start from the beginning until they show they're ready for more." He's trained children from helplessness to sure warriors.

Ignis couldn't help but smile as the contact broke. "I'd be grateful for an extra pair of hands to get them ready for the next time." As loathe as he is to have them on the battlefield.

Children were to be protected and the advisor half felt as though he was betraying them by allowing them onto the battlefield. Not that it was his decision but he still felt badly.

"The children will be protected," he murmurs. "In and out of danger. I taught...some elflings..." prisoners/his sons/kidnapped children "how to fight and survive. They went on to help end wars."

Well home, but like Tony there was nothing to go home to. And he had no idea if Maglor and his kin had anywhere to go to either. It was a saddening thought but he kept it masked.
"I would be grateful."
no subject
"I wish it were not necessary," he continues quietly with almost a sigh. "Peace is never easy to maintain, no matter how much one might wish it."
Maglor inclines his head. "If I had my way, everyone would be protected." But he knows better.
no subject
"Mine as well." the advisor replied softly, thinking of Noct and what he would face. And then he thought of Tony giving his life to end a war.

The elf manages a wry little smile again, then glances out the viewport as the shuttle seems to slow. "Not much longer. Hopefully the last group," meaning Tony and the rest, "will join us within the day."

As for Feanor, Ignis had a lot of respect for him and no reason to change that. That man had to be formidable as well to have raised the children he had.
no subject
"And we'll be there to take care of them." Right up to shoving food and water down their throats, making sure they're unharmed, or patching them up if not. And then making them sleep.

"I do believe that's half the fun after all. They go off and play the big heroes and then they have to come home and answer to you."
He totally knew all about those things.
