Evacuation

Once Rath and Voidtrecker volunteers go off to Blue Mountain the rest of the scientists get ready for the final evacuation off planet.

Earthquakes are regular enough now that it seems strange when the earth is not shaking. It makes it difficult to pack the last of the equipment, get the final lindusi into their containers and start boarding the shuttles.

They need help everywhere, people to ride with the lindusi, others to keep the evacuees calm. Others to carry equipment and load shuttles. People to keep children occupied and out of the way. Slowly but surely the shuttles are loaded and the journey begins.

Space Station

There are scientists and guards waiting at the space station to help unload, lindusi need unloading and taken to containing pens. People need reunited with those that evacuated before them and registered, in an attempt to make sure everyone is accounted for.

The Voidtreckers may do what they like once the work is done, a time to relax after a job well done. Or to fret about those who are still on the planet.

In the control room there is an attempt to keep radio contact with the group on the ground, but as the planet destabilises more it gets more difficult. Signs show that the planet has mere hours before it can not sustain human life anymore.

But the scientists seem to have some faith that these void warriors are up for the job.

"I'm too old to start now." he strokes back Maglor's hair, "Habits are hard to break after thousands of years."

"So they are. Even when we should try to break some..."

"If you sleep better beside me, Kano, you should either come here or I will go to you." he has noticed how relaxed his brother seems. This is good for both of them and he knows he will be less tense if someone he trusts utterly is near.

"Whenever I've tried sleeping somewhere other than my bunk, I've always woken back there." But there's a hint of longing. He's always slept better with his brothers right there with him.

[castintoflames]

"We can try. Falling asleep beside one another is better than being alone." he looks down at himself and adds, "I can give you a cloak of mine to cover yourself."

Maglor slowly nods, deciding it was better that way than not at all. "I'll use it as a blanket."

[castintoflames]

"That way you will remember, even if we are parted, your family is well and within reach." he taps Maglor's nose, smiling.

[seawanderer]

He wrinkles his nose at the tap, just a little, but doesn't go to bite at it this time.

"I know." And he is intensely grateful! "It's why I do not wish to leave."

Cute. Maedhros grins at him and nuzzles close again, closing his eyes with a sigh.

"You feel less like I will fall through you."
