Onward: Blue
On the second night the ground begins to shake. The islanders seem well versed in earthquake safety and there is no mass panic- from them anyways. They will help any voidtreckers who don't know what to do in such a situation. The shaking is over quickly and is not strong enough to do any major damage though there are some after shocks throughout the day.
More worryingly are the thick clouds that roll out, covering the sky. Despite the memories these might invoke in the void warriors they are normal clouds.
Or perhaps not that normal, dawn breaks into darkness, the sun barely penetrating. Shadows are deep and the temperature cooler. It is not too dark to see, more like an endless twilight.
The monsters do not retreat into the sea as dawn comes. Instead they continue their attack into the day, unrelenting.
The seas themselves are rough, large waves crashing down onto the beach. The current is strong, as if the very sea itself is fighting them.

Resilient as their shells are, it doesn't stop a swift kick in the right spot from knocking a crab over, the spell in place making the snapping claws less a problem with such a move. Sometimes, anyway--when with one crab on its back, another comes beside Tidus in that time, a pinch meant to encase his leg being swapped out hastily with his sword to block it.
Tidus struggles for a second or so before pulling it free, knocking the other claw coming for him with the body of the blade. The contact slows the crab's next movements, and with that small space of time, Tidus pierces into where the arm connects, a pincer dropping into the sand. Another distraction earned, the sword plunges in deep, taking the monster out of commission and allowing Tidus to turn away as the sea creature goes limp.
And what does he see but--
"Whoa! Armed crab!"
--that one crab wielding Ignis's shortsword very, very poorly.
And it would be trying to attack another fighter, if it didn't appear to be waving the sword more like a flag than in any meaningful way, the blade at an unhelpful angle (for the crab), and essentially making that one claw arm useless for anything.
It almost looked like it was trying to excitedly show off its loot to the person it was bothering than anything else.
Tidus can't help himself. With no immediate enemies around him to make a priority instead, he calls up a spell, a swirl of light becoming moving liquid under his spare hand. He makes a batting motion, making it drop, and with a foot ready kicks it like a ball before it touches the sand.
It shoots off, spinning, making contact and knocking the crab and its new toy back, the blade free from its pincer.
Crab knife fight was over before it really began. Tidus may or may not be taking a second to give a woot. (he is)

For a moment though, all he can do is watch whatever spell the other is casting because he's just a curious scholarly sort. He had even asked Y’jhimei about her magic spells when the group had met her. Once the unarmed crustacean was on the ground and Tidus emerged victorious Ignis nodded and elementally enhanced his daggers. One of the crabs then gave him such guff that the man was impressed before finally ending it.
With a sigh he turned to his companion. "I'm collecting as much seafood as we can carry. I'll be asking the other fighters on our team to do the same." And then he got busy avoiding a snapping claw.

"You think it's gonna keep?"
What did the village people have in ways of storing seafood? But with that said, Tidus goes for his next intended kill, who still hasn't found a way to get its awkward physique upright.

"None of this will sadly. However, I'm quite sure we'll be rather inundated with crab and whatever the shark things are. Plus I'll need to bring back shells for Tony since he'd mentioned they would be useful to him." This is part of the reason Ignis was so exhausted half the time. Usually he had healing feeding and protecting to do for his tiny team on top of foraging. Luckily he had gotten help because he was so exhausted.

Tidus scans the area to be sure, and he doesn't see much life than in the people. Looks back at Ignis, letting out a comfortable exhale as he rolls the arm that the guy had healed earlier.
"Oh yeah? What for?" Oh- "That one of the kids?"
Kids from the island or someone from the train. Whichever of the two.

However.
"He's the leader of the train, have you not met him?"
no subject
"Nnnnno. I thought nobody knew who was running the train?"
Did he miss something?
no subject
Okay.
"No one knows who the conductor is as to who is manning the train controls. But there is a man aboard named Tony Stark who has taken the leadership of the train for the people. He is the leader of the Red team and the train council. When we get back, I'll be sure to introduce you."
That made sense because when Ignis had boarded the train he didn't meet Tony right off either.
no subject
"Oh, okay. Sure." But Tidus will roll with it, if still somewhat perplexed, shrugging out his arms (though not far, with his sword still held). "Never heard of a leader of a train before," he admits with a joking tone.
no subject
Lovely introduction really.
"Then again I suppose being on the train is quite a different place altogether." He'd been on a train once when he was little. And from what he heard from Prompto there was another he would board later and have lost his sight.

This being their forcibly signed on as World Heroes, or whatever one wanted to call it. Voidtreckers?

"Not for any of us but we were aware of people being able to access our world, so I suppose it would certainly make a good argument to have that sort of portal work as a two way conduit." Y’jhimei had come in with her chocobo and the Wind Messenger Garuda as well as those Ixal beast men.
no subject
"So you have a portal that lets other people come over...just sitting there somewhere? Really?"
Literally? And they couldn't even access it the other way? Tidus was perplexed as he was curious.

"I wonder if more of us have ways of getting to other worlds and we never knew?" And this train business isn't as out there as some of them think. Huh! "We coulda met each other sooner!"
Well, maybe not. But isn't that a thought?

But whatever happened or how it happened, his friends were here and of course Tidus was putting a positive spin on this so Ignis smiled slightly. The break or alternate reality going on now was buying Noct more time to not be in a rush to get back to the events taking place on Eos. He could enjoy life and be given more time to actually get around to the business of living it.
"However I don't believe it was the same portal the train came through..though I suppose one wouldn't be able to find out so easily.." But the thought of meeting the blitzball player sooner was a pleasant thought.

Spira had lost so much history, that the thought of a portal just sitting around... well, it wasn't seeming so inconceivable to Tidus. Nevertheless, a swab of dull red catches his eye just then emerging onto the shoreline a distance behind Ignis. Not close enough to get the sneak on the man, but--
"Six o'clock!" Meaning, behind. That's a closer problem for Ignis to deal with than Tidus, who's now watching the shoreline closer. Was a new wave of crabs coming?

"I don't have all of the answers unfortunately." The advisor hated admitting that but he wasn't going to lie to Tidus either. That was just bad repayment of the other's unfailing kindness and assistance.
Hearing the blonde now, Ignis didn't even question it and summoned his lance after standing up. Fresh crab on a stick, alright.
