Final: Blue
The siege continues. Crabs, giant squids, shark head beasts, all continue out of the sea. The islanders are in good spirits though and everyone pulls their weight. Traps are set, settlements defended. Some of the older islanders have taken it upon themselves to make sure everyone is fed and rested and so in quiet moments those who cannot fight are sent with packs of foods to give to those patrolling and guarding.
Those voidtreckers who don't know how to rest may find themselves practically kidnapped by a well meaning islander and forced to eat and sleep.
All the time the sky is getting darker, the seas rougher.
Day Ten
Just after dawn on day ten the storm breaks. Crashing thunder, lightning and roiling seas. The water swirls and seems to rise, it is rising, up and up a wave so high that you may fear that when it breaks it could swallow the island whole.
But it doesn't break, instead twists, taking form. A huge towering beast made of water and sand. A hand swipes down over a patch of beach, a wall of water to knock any fighters off their feet.
Around the same time, those not busy being attacked by the water monster will notice their SCA's light up and a screen appear. They might hear some familiar voices.
It seems there is more than fighting a monster to be done!
Beacon Building
Assuming the information is given those of the island will suggest the best place for a beacon to be built- the cliffs are the highest point on the island.
It will be hard work lugging wood up there in a storm, not to mention actually building and lighting a fire as cloud is low, rain is heavy and the wind is high.

Beacon building
Though being 'on it' after days of fighting was easier said than done, especially when trying to climb a hill in a storm carrying a load of wood, and he was willing to admit that he was dragging a bit. But at least he wasn't alone, as indicated by voice of someone near him calling over the wind. Lea didn't recognize the person, even when he shifted a bit sideways to get a better look at him through the storm but shook his head.
"No, I can make it," he called back. "You?" After all, it was only fair to offer help in return right?

His natural lightness wasn't working well in his favour at the moment. "It's not that much further... Where they said was the highest point."
It seemed like the highest point at least, which of course meant the wind was worse there. He has no idea how they are going to light the beacon, but there are plenty of people helping and someone is certainly better than Taiki when it comes to situations like this.

Lea nodded as they continued up the hill. "Think we'll need to make another trip after this?", he said. "I dunno how much wood they've got up there already."
no subject
"A lot... sorry a lot of people are helping though."

But it is also difficult because of it's openness, all the wood had to be carried up there. "I hope it works..."
Whatever it was meant to do. He wasn't actually sure.

"Wish I knew what we needed a beacon for though. I didn't catch that bit when it came over the watch thing." Yes, he knew it had a name; he just didn't care enough to recall it at the moment.

But they seemed certain at least. "I think... They said they found some drawings, instructions I think..."
There had been a lot of voices, a lot of information and yet not much at all.

"Well let's hope it's something more than them just discovering a copy of Building a Beacon for Dummies and deciding to try it out. Because if that's all it is, I'm gonna be ticked." He was trying to lighten the mood, though whether the done of his comment came across clearly amid the wind and rain was difficult to tell.

"I hope so..." He stared at the growing pile of the wood in the distance. Almost there.
"We hadn't been able to speak to the other teams before, so..." He's not sure why or how they could now. But clearly a function in the devices they wore worked when they hadn't before and that meant that either orange team had figured out a way to communicate or somehow communication had been made possible.
Either way hopefully it meant what they had found was significant.

He brought a hand up to his eyes, an attempt to shield them from the rain. "We're at the beacon."
The pile of wood that would be the beacon, at least.

"Nothing to do now but wait," Lea said. "And hope my fire magic can do the job." He just wished that they could wait somewhere under shelter.

The last few people trudged up the hill and those with the ability to make fire began to step forwards. Taiki reached out carefully, to touch his arm, wishing him luck silently.
And one more should wrap it, leading into the aftermath.

But he doesn't need help, he does it, the fire springs up and flies into the beacon. He's not the only one trying to light it, through the roaring storm and whipping winds. But as his fireballs hit the beacon something catches and Taiki smiled at the crackling sound, barely audible over the storm, and the growing glow as flames began to lick at the wood.
"You did it."
And wrapped! TY for the thread!
"Yeah... we did." He smiled, despite the storm still blowing. Somehow, seeing that that beacon... he knew it was all going to be alright.
