Final: Blue and Purple
Blue: A Call to Arms
On the sixth night (G10) since arriving in the Gry coves the fighting is the heaviest than it has been all week. What’s more anyone who tries to sleep that day or night will find their dreams are the clearest yet. Darkness, downward tunnels, fear yes but a clear calling. A draw. A call for help. A cry to arms.
The caverns are a flurry of activity but by the morning (G11) the elders address the cove. It is clear. The Burrower wishes them to descend. Furthermore if the aliens have been having dreams as well then it is clear that they are invited.
Not all can go of course, the caverns still need defending. But any who wish to may. The morning is spent preparing for the descent, or rather making sure that there are still defenders of the caverns and that everything is in order for them to descend.
Purple: A Plan for Aid
The fighting is still thick and fast but the morning of the seventh day (G11) brings another flurry of activity. The teenagers who had been growing restless all week can be found gathering in groups.
If approached by anyone who isn’t a Terran adult they will let them in on the secret. The Gry were going down to the dweller. The Gry dream forums have been full of Gry teens talking about this, worried their god is in danger. Worried they are in danger and going down there will mean certain death.
So of course the Terran want to help and their adults have not been listening. They have found one of the entrances that they believe will go down into the dwellers domain. They plan to strike out by noon and won’t say no to any one who wants to go with them.
It’s a steep entrance, going almost vertically down into the darkness below. They are pretty certain it leads to the dweller.
Meanwhile the monsters are still attacking the city with increasing numbers and almost every Terran is engaged in some level of fighting.
The Descent (Please specify team colour.)
The tunnels down from both the Gry coves and the Terran tunnels are steep. Even the Gry and Terran themselves struggle with the descent and voidtreckers will definitely need to use climbing equipment. It takes most of the day and into the evening to climb down. The air is dry and thin the further down they get but their SCA keeps them going.
The Terran and Gry have no such technology but they are better acclimatised. It’s a long climb down through the darkness.
Meanwhile... (Please specify team colour.)
For those that don’t descend there is still plenty to do. Monsters are still attacking, though as night falls they dwindle, as they begin to rush down to the cavern below. Still there are pockets of monsters around that need dealing with.
Parts of both tunnel systems are in need of repair. Down in the Terran tunnels the areas that had been collapsed still need a lot of work, though all the citizens have been rescued. The Gry systems are less structurally damaged but they are a mess and the clean up operation will take a while.
Deep Dweller
Finally the dark downward descent leads into a huge cavern. In the centre of the cavern there is a large, grey creature easily filling the space. It looks almost like a grub, if a huge one. It is hard to ascertain if it has eyes or a mouth even but it moves, slowly up and down as if it is breathing.
The elder Gry make respectful gestures towards it, the younger ones follow suit, a little more hesitantly. The Terran teenagers mostly seem some mixture of horrified and amazed.
There are four large entrances to the cavern, the two that the two groups came down and two other large ones from elsewhere. There are also numerous small ones, high and low in the walls. The two groups arrive at roughly the same time and it is not long before they have company…

Most of them are the monsters they have fought all week, but with them are some of the tougher, larger monsters that the voidtreckers may have heard about from red team.
Their goal seems to be to get to the Dweller.
North Entrance
Re: North Entrance
Coming nearer to one end of the Grey Being, he could hear the sound of monsters coming through the tunnels.
"Going Dark!" he warned people, just before he extinguished his light. If they were about to be attacked, he wanted to kill as many as possible, so they didn't just move around to one of the other entrances.

Or maybe not. Regardless- he plants himself near the South entrances, the Staff Mami made him still in his hands. With narrowed eyes he waits, muttering to his Ponyta.
"...Firs' sign 'f stuff movin' down tha' shouldn', and y' use Psychic. Hold tha' shit back long 'nough f'r everyone else t' strike."
The ponyta nods, and with that, they're Ready. Psychic is a plenty powerful force when used simply to immobilize after all, and that's more than handy when it comes to leaving something vulnerable to light.
Or even a spear to the eye.

Glorfindel | Purple | OTA
Glorfindel listens to the younger Terrans and is torn as to what he should do, defend the city or try to find the source of the dreams...until the descent tunnel is found.
"That is exactly the tunnel I saw in my vision, before the mission," he said. "In it I felt that I was supposed to go." He smiles and holds up his bag. "It is the reason I brought the climbing equipment with me, in fact. Who all is going with me?"
The Descent (Purple):
With the climbing equipment he brought from the Train, Glorfindel carefully plans the descent and makes it easy for anyone who wants to follow along. With him along, it does mean that the Void Trekkers will be able to see where they are going, at least. Each length of rope is tied securely in place, rather than to the previous piece of rope, for safer travel.
"Still no sign of the bottom," Glorfindel said, taking a moment to look down as he carefully hammered more supports into the rock.
no subject
Cassie passes Glorfindel carefully, floating in midair beneath him.
"Want me to scout ahead and give you an estimate?"

"Please don't get too far ahead, though?"

Good thread! Wrap? Or have something happen?
Seems a good wrap point.
Danny Fenton | Purple | Open to All
Danny had waved off the offer of climbing of equipment, leaving it for someone who actully needed it. Instead he floats down beside the climbers, alternating between offering extra light (even if it was a rather creepy shade of green) and giving tired climbers a lift down.

Conan Edogawa | Team Purple | OTA
Conan had been mostly just trying to stay out of the way during the fighting against the monsters, while balancing keeping a careful eye on Ran and making somewhat of an attempt at following her request that he stay out of trouble. And if the occasional monster had been distracted by a soccerball to the head? He couldn't be expected to stay entirely out of the mess.
But in between, he had been paying attention and listening. The adults might have missed the teenager's discussions, but Conan hadn't.
Locked to Ran
Conan wasn't completely convinced that the descent would be any safer, but Ran wanted to try. And so of course he came along.
As they walked along towards the entrance to the descent, Conan begins to slow his steps as he suddenly has the feeling that they were being followed. When the attack comes, he is several steps behind Ran. He quickly ducks, rolling away from the monster's reach as he unslings his skateboard and slams his hand down on the start button.
The Descent
The climbing equipment was definitely not made for someone Conan's size. If he'd been alone, he might have risked it anyway. But with Ran here, he ends up helping her jury rig a harness that allowed her to carry him down.
no subject
She's a few paces ahead, bringing up the rear of the party -- and unaware that he's fallen behind -- when she hears the skateboard start. Her eyes whisk in that direction, body twisting . . . only to see a monster's claws arc downward towards Conan's small form.
She doesn't think. Can't let herself think -- just be. Act -- or she'll remember just what it is she's facing. With a shout she charges back towards the creature, a kick slamming into its head, sending it reeling, crashing into a rock wall.
It won't stop the thing. She knows that at this point. But maybe it'll at least buy them some time and she can get him out of there.
"Go!" she shouts to him. It's twitching, only stunned.

closed to gladio
That just doesn't feel right to Madoka. Not to mention that she's found her bow and arrow to be rather effective to the monsters up here. It would just be a better idea to stay. It's the responsible thing to do.
So when the others look about ready to leave, she quickly jogs over to Gladio when she spots him not standing there with that group.
"Mister Gladio..! Are you not going down?"
no subject
It had been an easy choice for him. And after talking it over with Piccolo it was quickly decided that his green friend would head down with the others while Gladio would remain up top. Gladio just wasn't suited to this kind of battle. He wasn't magically inclined, his swords didn't glow. The only light he had was from his SCA and that didn't do much except for scare the creatures off.
No, he would be useless down there with what those dreams promised them... Piccolo would be a better opinion. He had those balls of light that had been so effective before. And he could protect the others. That was the important thing here. Protecting the team.

Kitty Pryde | Purple | OTA
[ Kitty had spent a lot of time with the Terran teens and hearing about their discussions with the Gry. So when they told her about going down to find The Dweller, she knows what she's going to do. ]
Hey. Some of the younger Terrans are planning on going to find The Dweller. I'm heading down with them.
The Descent
[ Kitty decided it would probably be safer to use the climbing equipment, and the longer the it goes, the better she feels about the decision. Even though she could use her powers to descend slowly, using it for too long would surely tire her out by the time they reach the bottom.
Still, it was a steep way down. And occasionally she does have to use her phasing ability to hover after a slight slip. ]
Re: Kitty Pryde | Purple | OTA Descent
As far as they needed to climb he was not risking tying all the ropes together. These weren't elven ropes to stay up regardless of the strain of all the climbers.

Wei Wuxian | Blue, OTA
When the decision was made to go and give aid to the Burrower, Wei Wuxian gave serious thought about staying behind to help the Gry, but in the end, he was not the type of person who could do that.
"I'm in. When are we leaving?"
Descent:
Wei Wuxian was very grateful he was hitching a ride down with Lan Zhan on the blade of Bichen. He was not able to do that with his sword, especially not as much as he'd been pushing himself these last few days.
He'd given the equipment he'd brought with him in his pouch to those who were having to climb down. The Gry didn't need the ropes and stuff, but his fellow VoidTrekkers sure did. He kept a close eye out for anyone who looked like they were slipping.
"You okay?" he asked.
Closed to Inigo.
They had, over the days, managed to rescue all of the trapped Terrans, though there was still a great deal of clean up left to do. Piles of rubble and stone, large and small, were scattered everywhere. It made walking rather difficult no matter how many times they cleared paths. And with the creatures running everywhere making more of a mess, it was pure insanity.
Though now there were fewer, it was less chaotic. Fewer creatures, fewer people, fewer Terrans... Night was falling and Gerome was doing his best to make himself useful in the lull, but clearing away the rubble that had pilled up against a house causing the side to lean in precariously. He wasn't paying attention to the way loose bits of rock kept tumbling down beside him...
no subject
Inigo doesn't care that there's fewer monsters. That Gerome could probably avoid them just fine because he's smart enough for it. It just wouldn't feel right to abandon someone so close to him. He'd never be able to stop feeling guilty over it.
So here he is, trying to help out with clearing out the city. While Inigo is also trying to help move rubble, he's also there to try and fend off the monsters whenever one rears its ugly head. Inigo may not have any way to destroy it, but it's easy enough to beat one off with his sword until someone with more light capabilities pops up, whether it's one of their fellow Voidtreckers or one of the Terrans.
Unfortunately that's exactly what's distracting him at a crucial moment. Inigo has absolutely no idea that some of the rubble is starting to get a little bit too loose. Rather than standing directly next to Gerome, he's standing a few meters away from the other, staring out at a sole monster in the distance. Thankfully it seems to be wandering away into a different direction, away from them, but Inigo keeps watching it until it disappears just to make sure it won't turn around to try and get a surprise attack in on them.

Blue- Call to Arms (OTA)
Later, as the numbers of monsters began to thin out, Lea couldn't help but wonder if this was a good thing or a bad thing for their friends below...
Meanwhile BLUE (looks who's stupidly late to the party)
