Blue: A Call to Arms

On the sixth night (G10) since arriving in the Gry coves the fighting is the heaviest than it has been all week. What’s more anyone who tries to sleep that day or night will find their dreams are the clearest yet. Darkness, downward tunnels, fear yes but a clear calling. A draw. A call for help. A cry to arms.

The caverns are a flurry of activity but by the morning (G11) the elders address the cove. It is clear. The Burrower wishes them to descend. Furthermore if the aliens have been having dreams as well then it is clear that they are invited.

Not all can go of course, the caverns still need defending. But any who wish to may. The morning is spent preparing for the descent, or rather making sure that there are still defenders of the caverns and that everything is in order for them to descend.

Purple: A Plan for Aid

The fighting is still thick and fast but the morning of the seventh day (G11) brings another flurry of activity. The teenagers who had been growing restless all week can be found gathering in groups.

If approached by anyone who isn’t a Terran adult they will let them in on the secret. The Gry were going down to the dweller. The Gry dream forums have been full of Gry teens talking about this, worried their god is in danger. Worried they are in danger and going down there will mean certain death.

So of course the Terran want to help and their adults have not been listening. They have found one of the entrances that they believe will go down into the dwellers domain. They plan to strike out by noon and won’t say no to any one who wants to go with them.

It’s a steep entrance, going almost vertically down into the darkness below. They are pretty certain it leads to the dweller.

Meanwhile the monsters are still attacking the city with increasing numbers and almost every Terran is engaged in some level of fighting.

The Descent (Please specify team colour.)

The tunnels down from both the Gry coves and the Terran tunnels are steep. Even the Gry and Terran themselves struggle with the descent and voidtreckers will definitely need to use climbing equipment. It takes most of the day and into the evening to climb down. The air is dry and thin the further down they get but their SCA keeps them going.

The Terran and Gry have no such technology but they are better acclimatised. It’s a long climb down through the darkness.

For those that don’t descend there is still plenty to do. Monsters are still attacking, though as night falls they dwindle, as they begin to rush down to the cavern below. Still there are pockets of monsters around that need dealing with.

Parts of both tunnel systems are in need of repair. Down in the Terran tunnels the areas that had been collapsed still need a lot of work, though all the citizens have been rescued. The Gry systems are less structurally damaged but they are a mess and the clean up operation will take a while.

Deep Dweller

Finally the dark downward descent leads into a huge cavern. In the centre of the cavern there is a large, grey creature easily filling the space. It looks almost like a grub, if a huge one. It is hard to ascertain if it has eyes or a mouth even but it moves, slowly up and down as if it is breathing.

The elder Gry make respectful gestures towards it, the younger ones follow suit, a little more hesitantly. The Terran teenagers mostly seem some mixture of horrified and amazed.

There are four large entrances to the cavern, the two that the two groups came down and two other large ones from elsewhere. There are also numerous small ones, high and low in the walls. The two groups arrive at roughly the same time and it is not long before they have company…

"Alrigh' Kaseri, hold tha' dust!" Katsuya shouts as the feeling hits, swallowing back what fear he can. "Give 'm stuff to r'flect off-"

He cuts short. Where there should be a hologram for most after all, he gets to see the dragon proper. Coughing, he wonders if it'd be weird to ask for a laser blast in a certain direction. Sure, it wouldn't damage anything, but it'd still be light right? The dragon itself is brilliant after all, and-

Wait he can just ask Yugi. "Oi Yugi! 'F you have Blue Eyes, have her aim at some eyes- Light's what does it, it'll be enough!"

In the meantime, he'll continue spamming the combined force of Fairy Wind, and cheap tripping whenever something is too close to one of the others. They might be spindly giants, but nothing likes getting swatted in the back of the knee/elbow!

Something seems to shift in the rock beneath Nita, her spell taking hold. Most of what she feels in response is confusion but the spell continues to build. Three monsters crept up on her from behind, taking the opportunity of her being in shadow.

Suddenly there is a bright hologram of a dragon. Monsters skitter around, judging the new threat but wary of it's brilliance.

More monsters shattered from the dust yet more filled in, one diving at Kaseri and another two at Jonouchi.

Wow, what a lovely dragon. Interesting tactics on display here. Mami wouldn't be much help, but she could strengthen her ribbons, trying to ward off attacks---

---oh, but they're after Nita! She refocuses her efforts to try to shield her new friend, but was she too late?

Wei Wuxian saw the monsters going after Nita, but Mami was closer, so he sent his threads to catch the ones after Kaseri and Jounouchi. He got the one after the pony, and one of the others, but not the third. "Duck!"

He tried to bring his SCA light around to shine in the eyes of the ones he caught before they could escape.

Yugi looked over for a moment, taking in such what the other said. Is he basically saying to have it attack? He assumed that was the case as with the last monster going for his friend this was as good of time as any to try this thing out.

"Blue Eyes, can you please do as my friend asks and also... can you get the monster away from him, please." The hologram at least that was what he figured it was at least had moved in closer to be nearer the other, leaving Yugi himself more exposed because of it to let them deal with the monster.

A lot of things happen in the span of a few moments. First of all, Katsuya sees something go for Nita without even actually looking- which is probably a good part of why the monsters near him just about cuff him with claws.

If it can be called mere cuffing, of course. Just as he looks away from where Nita is, his heart jumps into his throat. "Ohhh SHIT-"

Kaseri. He dives for the ponyta without thought. "HEAL!" he orders, the ponyta shining. Mami has Nita covered (and boy it's a good thing he's been cleaning that gal's gem), but Katsuya successfuly throwing himself from frying pan to fire isn't helping the other's efforts that much. Hopefully the threads do something- that dust is floating around from Fairy Wind at least, maybe it'll catch the flashlight some. But-

NNRRRROOOOOOOAAAAH-

oh, that's a dragon

A truth, from Katsuya's world. Solid Light Holograms are not entirely solid, and tend to shatter if things hit them. True- though they're at least stronger than they appear. Duel Monsters are real. Also true, though to what extent is definitely debated among the folks Katsuya knows.

A third truth. For Katsuya, real is extremely real. Instead of Solid Light in the blond's vision it's real scales, and as the beast charges forward to spit white lighting- mere solid hologram light of course, but no less a brilliant source of white light to strike any eyes and dust and things around- the blond has to curl up and follow Wei's 'duck' command even farther. "AWWW C'MON-"

He's a sitting duck here! He can't just-

Claws grasp at him, and Katsuya instinctively uses his free arm to cling to the dragon's hind leg. Kaseri, small as she is, is still clung to under his arm. "DANGIT..!"

For him, he's definitely stuck in a dragon's grip as it tries to back off and regroup to Yugi- Kaiba said protect YUGI after all- for anyone else, it might look rather odd. Is the hologram...clipping through him maybe?? Something like that.

"NH- FIRE AT TH' ONES NEAR NITA!"

Everyone was worried, frantic. Piccolo was a calm pillar in the storm. He was used to this sort of chaos, of epic battles with energy and attacks flying everywhere. He just kept up his paces with ease and a calm demeanor even as he watched the battlefield shift and flow.

He stopped moving, releasing the last orb of energy out onto the field, and then just standing still for a moment. His eyes swept over the battle quickly.

Piccolo ignored the monsters who seemed to already be under attack and dealt with, but not the ones suddenly bound by Wei Wuxian's thread. They were easy targets and as soon as Piccolo set a few orbs into motion to hit them he refocused his attention on the next threat. He focused on Mami who heroically leapt in front of Nita to protect her. A large amount of ki orbs suddenly moved towards that position, striking monsters all around that area, hitting anything that tried to get at Mami and the other girl. Many orbs simply divebombed the area but Piccolo made sure to focus on a few of the orbs enough to guide them straight into the faces of monsters.

Ribbons tangled around the monsters going for Nita as threads tangled around those going for Kaseri. Wei Wuxian's torch quickly finished off those ones. Monsters launched themselves at Mami, to be destroyed by Piccolo's orbs.

Monsters fled the orbs, some more successfully than others, who shattered and fell. Yugi's dragon cleared those going after Jonouchi. The monsters were thinning out, but more seem to be arriving all the time.

More monsters were headed towards Mami and Nita, circling but not getting close. Kept away by the orbs for now. Monsters lept at Wei Wuxian and Yugi, tho the dragon and its passengers got a wide berth.

"Yugi!" Romeo had gotten tangled with some monsters from a smaller tunnel but he looks back to see the hologram dragon- it's Yugi's distraction plan! And now there are monsters going towards him.

"Line!" He concentrated as he threw a line up between Yugi and one of the monsters and then, keeping his hand pointed at the line he ran to fling himself at another monster to tackle it away from Yugi.

After a he had promised mister Tidus he would look out for him!

Yugi had moved a few steps away before he even realised just what was going on, mostly because his main focus had been checking just how his friend was doing what he was doing. It... was a hologram, right?

But he looked over toward Romeo and saw what he was doing, so rushing over he started to look around to see what he could use as a weapon to at least beat the monster off him.

All he could find was rocks. So that would do. Throwing them was a smart idea right?

Hologram or not, it doesn't matter- Katsuya struggles to maintain grip on both dragon and pony, forced to let the latter go when they're especially close to the ground. "NH- Kaseri!"

The ponyta whinnies- apparently fine, and throwing forward a bout of confusion in attempt to disorient anything near. Panicking, Katsuya searches his pocket with his freed hand- trying desperately not to feel reminded of another fight he's had before.

He can't go back for her after all- those things are already targetting someone else.

"Dammit..! Oii, dragon..! Yugi was th' one who summoned you, so g't over there!"

With an obedient roar, the dragon beats their wings- it's not exactly a large distance, but the gaps can be filled with other creatures after all. Charging a blast of electricity- pure light, in the case of anyone who isn't Katsuya- Blue Eyes launches their 'Burst Stream' toward what stands between it and Yugi.

Katsuya meanwhile prays the range on pokeballs is more than he thought. "NH- RETURN..!"

Back into the ball Kaseri goes- albeit some time after she's been dropped into the fray again.

And all the while, Nita's focusing on her spell, on that memory of brightness surfacing closer.

(Faintly, she can see and feel all the last-ditch plans being made to keep her safe, everyone protecting each other. She's touched, and more than that proud of them.)

As she reaches the end of the spell, she concentrates the collective memories of stone - then blasts it back out, seeking contact with each and every one of the monsters in the area.

(Including those trying to hide in the ceiling...)

If possible, she wants it to chain, to leap its way from monster to monster back out of the caverns, to the source of these beings-

But if that doesn't take, she'll settle for clearing out the Burrower's hiding place, for now.

Wei Wuxian is just holding on, best he can, throwing everything he has at the monsters that were targeting his team mates and friends. He was running on fumes at this point, but wasn't about to stop until the monsters did.

The spell builds until all of a sudden the cavern lights up from the bright glow from Glorfindel, at the same time monsters, even those in the shadows begin to shatter as the memory of light hits them all. Monsters shatter, falling before those so desperately fighting to keep the Burrower safe.

There is a pause, another and yet another. No more monsters pour through the walls. Any monsters that somehow survived the blasting of light from those fighting at both entrances crumble now. Everyone in the cavern will feel a deep sated peace fill them. The terror and fear those in the Gry caverns had been feeling fades into deep satisfaction.
