Event: Healing Waters

"Good morning passengers, it is day twenty three of the month of Grasshopper. All passengers of the Voidtrecker Express require rest. Next stop Jema’grethy Island. All passengers prepare to disembark."

It is a very strange morning message that rings through the train on the morning of day twenty three but as the passengers of the Voidtrecker Express wake their screens glow with the colour of the void and a holographic screen pops up for them to read.

World #2554098133741: A world once inhabited by an ancient civilisation and now preserved as a historical site, nature reserve and well-being retreat. It is famous for its relaxing hot springs, calming atmosphere and beautiful beaches.

It is a popular void-traveller destination, particularly among void missionaries as a place to rest and recuperate after difficult missions.

The Voidtrecker Express will spend three days here, arriving today and leaving on day twenty six of the month of Grasshopper. The dressing carriage is open for your convenience.

It is time for a holiday it seems!

Preparation

For those who go to explore the dressing carriage they will find a variety of beachwear and wetsuits. One cupboard has a pile of tents and groundsheets in all four team colours.

One cabinet is exclusively filled with beach towels, in a kaleidoscope of colours, designs and patterns. Another is filled with different shapes and sizes of plain towel dressing gowns. There is even a cabinet with buckets, spades and small rock-pooling nets.

It seems they are in for quite an adventure.

Arrival

"Shortly arriving on World #2554098133741. Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."

The train lurches and rattles as it leaves the void they will get a glimpse of silver-purple sky and a beautiful ocean below.

However some passengers might be a little more than distracted, one staring at that table for a second too long, another seeming lost in thought for a couple of seconds, a longer than normal pause in a sentence. They see a vision, a glimpse of a life that is not their own. Not all at once, but here and there as the train descends to the island.

But then it is gone and things are back to normal. Just in time, as they come to land.

Jema’grethy Island

The train has landed on a grassy ridge, overlooking a beautiful beach of white sand and the ocean beyond. It is warm, but not too hot, a cool ocean breeze cutting through the heat making it pleasant. Behind them is a grassy plain, changing to forest in the distance. There is the sound of birdsong in the purple sky. To the west the land is more craggy, the silhouette of a fortress in the distance. In a word, it is idylic. A sense of peace permeates the island.

A little more worrying is the volcano-like structure in the north. But even a quick glance will show it is not a typical volcano. There is no smoke and the liquid slowly running down it in rivulets is pink and blue.

Exploring the passengers will find beautiful beaches, ragged cliffs to walk and caves to explore. Where it is more craggy the beaches are made of pebbles- perfect for rock pooling.

The place has no people, but it is clearly maintained. The eastern beaches have racks of shallow boats, both canoes and one- or two-person sailing dinghies. There is also a small building in which scuba gear is stored, along with several waterproofed manuals and instructional literature.

Ruins of ancient houses are scattered across the island, but the main settlement is built into a rocky section in the north-west that has been secured with ropes and stairways cut into the cliffs, perfect for scrambles and hikes.

There are no living quarters, but there are sheltered sections with basic toilet facilities marked as camping grounds in five different sections of the island - by the hot springs, within the ruined fortress, beside the harbour, on the eastern beaches, and on the northern face of the mountain.

Hot Springs

To the west are the hot springs. They have both outdoor and indoor areas; the indoor areas being wooden loghouse saunas, changing rooms and storage sheds, whilst the outdoor areas are a tiered series of pools spilling down the side of the mountain and shaded by brightly flowering trees. The waters are hot, mineral-rich and soothing.

Perfect for overly stressed, world weary Void heroes...

Like a superhero. They can jump really high usually, but they are also superheroes...

[He laughed slightly, mostly at himself, a hand behind his head.]

I sadly don't. Most of what I can do others can do also.

Yes just like a superhero! But I not got super strength or anything like that!

[He shakes his head.] You're really good at fighting! And you got good ideas! You helped everyone with that dragon!

I mean some might just have the ability to jump very high, it's still like a superpower.

[He laughed somewhat awkwardly.]

Okay, not great at fighting. All I did was use a card and summon it as a distraction. I just thought of a strategy which a lot of people can do.

You are really smart! And you can use those smarts in a battle, that's really good!

[He's not too great at coming up with plans! Elfnein is really good at that bit.]

[If one ever saw what his grades were like a couple of years ago would not think he was that smart. But Yugi knew he was much smarter than he was back then considered by the time high school was over he was the one giving the speech out of the whole year... But that could also be in part because he was also the most well known in the year.]

I can use those smarts... I just not sure in what team they would be best used in. But that's not the point of being here. it's to relax, so I will worry about that later.

[He grins at that, Yugi is right. Here is a place for having fun and relaxing. But he's glad that Yugi knows that he is smart.]

Do you know how to build things with sand? [Because there is a huge pile of sand from this hole he's been digging!]

You mean like sandcastles? I do know how to do that? I also know how to do that thing where you bury someone in the sand except thier head.

[That was an odd one, but still.]

Bury someone? Can you bury me? [That sounded fun! And if it wasn't his head then it wouldn't be dangerous!]

Yeah, I'm sure I can do that. [Though he had to think a bit about what to build on top, or just a pile where the body would be.]

Okay! [This is going to be so much fun!] Shall I go back in the hole?

[sizedoesntmatter]

Probably...not a good idea to burry you in the hole considering how far down it is.

[Couldn't really do it that way anyway.]

I will wait till you're done with the hole then we can do it.

[myblueskies]

Oh... [He grinned] Well we need all this sand to bury me with right? So I can just make sure no one falls down the hole while we are playing!

You need enough sand to bury your body, but the amount you have dug up for the hole would be way too much considering how far down you went.

[He looked down at the hole again for a moment.]

How about we use a different area for that then you can go back to your hole.

[myblueskies]

Oh! [That was fair, he wasn't that big, they wouldn't need all of this sand!] Okay! Let's go find a good burying place!

[Yugi nodded as he went to find a spot nearby.]

How about here?

Here is a good place! Do we need to dig a hole? [A smaller one than the one he just dug!]

[sizedoesntmatter]

I mean we don't actually need to, we just move the sand on you and from around.

[So at least there wasn't a need for a hole this time at least.]

You just lie down and I would get sand and cover your body. If I was actually good at art I would do a torso design and make it seem like your a mermaid or something for example... but I'm not good at that kind of thing. [he was more creative in designing games than that.]

Ah okay! I never buried anyone before!

[Mister Zetta didn't count, that had been an accident!]

I can lie down though!

[He does so, face down, closing his eyes so he didn't get sand in them.]

[Yugi made sure that he was at least careful to not get any sand near the other's eyes as he slowly built around him. He wasn't going to do it so it was hard to get out, just so there was a general idea of what one is meant to do should they want to do it in the future.

Once he was done he moved away., A little sand mound having been built.]

There we go.

[It was strange, the feeling of sand being packed around him and he lay very still as Yugi buried him. He could still wriggle around, but he was weighed down with all the sand and it was a funny feeling. He laughed.]

I'm part of the beech now!

You have become one with the sand now. But this is basically what it is. But people usually make neat shapes like make people into mermaids or something.

[It always looked like fun, but he wasn't sure how good he could really do that himself.]

That sounds so fun. [He grinned.] Do you want to be buried too?

Sure, I'd be okay with that.

[Not like anything bad can happen at least.]

You should be able to get out of yours.

"Yes!" He had noticed the sand cracked if he moved and he had been lying very still but now he wriggled like a worm, laughing as the sand fell around him.

"Just like that!"

"That is exactly how to get out." he said happily watching as the sand fell around the other soon leaving it piled up at the side.

"you would think looking that it would be much harder, but it's really not."
