Ongoing: All Teams
The first few days are taken up with solving the problems in the various sectors, all the while getting closer to their goal. The Great-Winter, Great-Summer, Great-Spring and Great Autumn.
On Day 9 of the month of Jelly they will see on their map a clear indicator of where to go. As they draw near it will be obvious what they are looking for.
The Overseers
In the centre of each of the sectors there is a large metal tube, hundreds of pipes lead from it, spanning up to the ceiling above and down below, creating a field of pipes and tubes to clamber over and crawl under to reach the central tube. On the tube itself there is a panel, wrapping around it in a circle. The SCA's of the Voidtrecker show an exclamation mark, if they click on them they will see the message.
Reach the panel, enter the inner systems and give your aid.
As Voidtreckers step towards the tubes it will seem as if the world shifts around them. Instead of metal and wire they will see trees. The Great-Spring is a tree in blossom, pink leaves spreading up across the canopy. Great-Summer has strong green leaves, Great_Autumns leaves are brown and falling and Great-Winter has no leaves at all.
The panel is still there, the only part of the scene that doesn't look organic. As the Voidtreckers move towards their goal the tree begins to move, branches fighting against those trying to get through the roots. The aim seems to be to push intruders away, going as far as flinging them back with higher branches.
The branches aren't the only security measures in place. As they push forwards they will find creatures coming at them from the trees.
Strangely the creatures look like creatures from their own worlds, any creature they would expect to see in a tree. Regardless of species they attack with claws and with lazers from their eyes. They don't move far from the branches, but try and stop invaders from getting close to the trunk.
For those that get through they will find that as they draw close to the 'trunk' the attacks stop, as if they have reached an eye of a storm.
Going Further
The panel is a simple glowing screen, there are no instructions but their SCA's will beep softly and if they press their SCA to the panel they will find everything vanishes, the trees, branches and weird animals.
Or perhaps it is they themselves that vanish as they find themselves in a large white room, everyone is together here. No matter what sector they had travelled through and which overseer they entered through.
There are four tubes filled with liquid, pink, green, orange and white towering over them.
"Our systems have been compromised." The four voices ring out. "Heal what has been harmed, destroy what should not be here. Find the source and purge it from our world."
The overseers and the room vanish and the voidtreckers find themselves in a forest, a forest that is slowly being choaked by red sickly vines.
The Voidtreckers themselves will find themselves looking different, almost like the hard-light holograms of the Helpmates though they certainly feel like themselves. They are carrying a sturdy stick but nothing else and depending how imaginative they are will quickly find they can alter their appearance to fit their wishes.

The voidtreckers will find themselves drawn towards the vines, if they touch them they will be able to soothe, a glowing blue light from their hands that runs down the vine before it fades away, freeing the trees that it held in its chokehold.
There are many pathways, many vines and it will be a long task to clear it all. It is not long also before the first threats find them. Threats that look like mongeese, small creatures that will lunge at them, teeth bared and claws out.
Luckily the Voidtreckers will quickly learn the ability to soothe is not the only power gifted to them.

Otoha steps forward, slashing at the branches that are attacking them. The animals that attack them... it's regrettable, but he slashes at them, too. He can't let his feelings get in the way of his team's survival.
Spotting someone in trouble he dashes to them, slicing what was attacking them in half. "... You okay?"
Further
Okay, come on. "You better give me my sword back when this is over." He stalks around, looking for people he cares about before he actually starts in with whatever the hell it is they're supposed to be doing.
He keeps trying to grab his sword but it's not there. He shakes the stick in frustration.
Destroy
A stick is better than no weapon, and Otoha doesn't bother with the soothing of the vines. Instead he moves to defend the group, slashing and kicking the small creatures away. At one point he lifts his hand for a punch and instead...
... That sure is a fireball. He blinks and looks at his hand, grinning. These things are so screwed.
Further
"Ugh, this is some Deadly Premonition shit. It'd be better if we had a knife..." As Rich says that, unnoticed by him, his one arm starts morphing, a blade starting to cut through his coat.

Kaiba faces down the tube with a frown...wait, now it's a tree? He's definitely not a fan of optical illusions. They need to fix this last problem and get it over with, fast.
He marches forward, metal briefcase in hand...and swings it up when a branch tries to crash down on him. Another branch whistles through the air, that he also blocks. He growls as he beats them back, finally almost there---
---only to have to swing his briefcase up to block a laser. From a squirrel's eyes. He rounds on it with a throwing knife, firing a few in quick succession at the waiting enemies. He's actually getting good at sniping them.

But his luck runs out, and eventually he's forced to dodge too close, the branches catching him by the shirt. Okay, so the dangling position isn't great news, but he can totally cut himself loose and shield from lasers at the same time. It's just taking him some aggressive wiggling. ...maybe help?

It's somewhat of a relief to see everyone again. He's looking for familiar faces, taking in the news with an expression that quickly becomes grim. As he puts the pieces together, dread starts to sink in. He's reminded of a few...past disasters.
"Another virtual world. Think we need to review the dangers of those."
the ice prince (heal and destroy)
Once they're on the field, so to speak, Kaiba seems to settle into his role. He's figured out how to change his muddy orange uniform into his usual dueling outfit, and he touches the vines with a flourish. Weird anti-virus, or whatever, but he can do it.
Of course, as he's kneeling with a hand on a tree, there's a loud screech in his ear---great, more attackers---and he throws up his hands to defend himself.
Oddly, whatever's in close range does stop for a few seconds, as if frozen solid. Hopefully that wasn't an ally in the crossfire.

Masumi Sera | Blue Guest | OTA
[At first, reaching the central tube seems easy enough, even when the scene changes to a massive tree. But things are never that simple, and it's not long before Masumi finds herself fighting to get past the branches and various animals.
Distracted trying to fend off a bird, she finds herself shoved backwards by a particularly large branch, and ends up laying there winded for a moment before she can get her breath back and keep pressing forwards.]
2. Going Further
[Finding herself in the white room is disconcerting, but at least now there's a bit more of an explanation. Find and fix the source of whatever had compromised the systems of this world. However, Masumi doesn't really get a chance to think too hard on the situation before a forest appears around everyone, with blatantly problematic looking vines clinging to the trees.
Also new is the stick in her hand, which she didn't really expect but is grateful for anyways.]
At least a stick is something if we get attacked right?
3. Heal and Destroy
[Masumi is quick to go on the defensive whenever any of the little mongoose like creatures show up, doing her best to recall what little she'd learned from Trunks before the mission as she whacked any that went for her away with the stick.
But it's not enough, and one gets too close for comfort as she's distracted with trying to get to one of the vines. She immediately reaches to try and hit it away -
- and summons a blast of water that knocks the mongoose away from her and into a tree. She's stunned, briefly frozen in shock before she gets her focus back together.]
Well, that's not the worst surprise I've had on a mission!

Xue Yang | red
As soon as they were out of the metal room and into a space that was open and had a large tree, Xue Yang knew something was wrong. This whole space didn't feel right and he didn't trust it. He moved carefully, testing the air and the ground and trying to figure out exactly what didn't feel like it belonged.
But when creatures started to attack from the tree, it threw off his focus from anything else. Looks like he finally has something to fight and he tries to draw out Jiangzai to do just that. It might not work against lasers but if he can get close enough then it will work just fine for cutting them in half.
Heal and Destroy
Xue Yang is pissed. He knows now that this is definitely all in his head and for some reason he can't break free of the illusion. The minute Jiangzai wasn't there, but a stick was his mood tanked. This is one of the most frustrating worlds he has found himself on yet. He just got that sword back so this place better return it.
And so he is taking his frustrations out on the creatures that are attacking. It might be nothing but a stick, but he isn't afraid to show it exactly how much potential it has. And when the stick isn't enough he has discovered that he can use ice and he is freezing every single one he can get his hands on.

2. You stayed 'til the end (On the Outside)
[There have been enough teammates to press the panel and subsequently slump into unconsciousness that Siebren figures he will not be missed wherever they have gone. Out here, however, his teammates will still require protection, and he had made a promise to hold the line. His feet remain on the ground, but his hyperspheres float above one upturned palm, at the ready for whatever may occur.]

More tubes and pipes and... Trees? She span around as everything changed around her. She was stood near the roots of a tree and the branches were swinging at her. She ducked and began scrabbling through the roots. Being small helped, she could duck under the roots, use them as cover.
This was so stupid, why was there a tree and why was it fighting them? Why were there... Are they tree rats? Gauigen tree rats to be exact, thieving, vicious little creatures. One was jumping at her and she brought her knife up to meet it, only to yelp as she got hit in the shoulder with a laser.
What? She ducked down into the roots, plunging into the emptiness to banish the pain.
Going Further
When she finally got to the centre she copied the others in pressing her SCA to the tree and then blinked as she arrived in the white room, holding a stick, with voices telling her to heal what was harmed and destroy what should not be here.
She looked around. "Do this be making any sense to you?"

She feels very strange about healing. Very strange about having the power to do so. It feels wrong. Feels blasphemous even. Though everything is so weird, she has been away from her world for a very long time.
Still it takes a lot for her to put her hand on the vine and let the blue light sooth it. She wrinkled her nose.
The first time she attacks she lashes out with her stick, it's more unwieldy than a dagger. She turns to face the mongoose, her hand feels strange, she lets go of the stick with one hand to study it and her eyes widen as fire appears.
"Oh." She throws the fire at the mongoose and smiles. It's still blasphemous but it's very cool.

It's true that this tree does look different from all the plants they had found in the sector, huh.. Especially since it seemed to appear out of nowhere between all the tubes. But after how odd everything about this place was, Madoka isn't very likely to question it more.

They have to get to that panel, after all. It's the only way it seems, for things to get better around here...
On the Outside
Nita's not the first one to get to the panel - indeed, she spends more than half an hour guarding those who do go in first, monitoring their life signs and so on to make sure they're safe.
She's also looking to make arrangements, some sort of sign that it's safe to pull people out at intervals. Powering a shield indefinitely out here is something she can try, but if there's a bigger threat inside...
Well, Nita's expression is enough to clue people in on just how deep in thought she is, even while fighting.

But eventually, she does take her turn 'jacking in' - and is immediately flushed with anxiety, as the Speech she was initially going to use to greet the Overseers is substituted by gibberish.
Eyes wide, she almost misses the introduction entirely, but maybe one of her friends hasn't missed her in turn...

Nita's priority is those red wires, pure and simple; they don't burn when she touches them and, while she's cut off from spreading the effect by simply reaching back to their source through contact, it's clear she's dedicated towards getting this done.
She does not notice ice creeping upon her, nor does she use it - though if people insist, she'll be glad for their help, whether just in healing or in forming a duo.

Senku Ishigami | Orange + OTA
Reach the panel and enter the inner system. The instructions were fairly clear. Senku’s initial footsteps were confident, until of course the tree that had materialized, whacked him back.
He offered his most unimpressed expression. “Are you serious? If you want help, stop attacking!”
It wasn’t that hard, it was just annoying, like the Helpmates. He was finding himself far more annoyed by this mission than anything in years. Nothing was more vexing than being attacked in an annoying way.
Another step forward and the branch came again and he jumped backwards to avoid being hit. He held up his two fingers, calculating the angle and maybe if - if - he moved in such a way he could avoid being hit.
That was actually a decent enough strategy, but the screeching monkey shooting lasers out of its eyes was something else. “Oh come on!” Senku just narrowly avoided eating a laser.
Going Further - OTA
Senku likely received a few bruises from that less than enjoyable attempt and he just raised his SCA to the panel and…
He looked around at the familiar faces and the fact he wasn’t feeling his bruises any longer. He was tempted to complain to the voices, but when the landscape changed again, he just sighed and saved his breath.
He found himself holding a sturdy stick, and taking a cue from someone changing their appearance, he shifted into his usual outfit, which comprised of a long looking short-sleeved tunic, with a light belt, all of it was very soft, very well worn leather, bracers wrapped on both of his wrists, and his shoes were made up of the same material and were incredibly soft.
“That’s a lot better.” He didn’t complain about his clothes as much as he wanted to, but he really preferred this.

The first mongoose caught him by surprise, but what was more surprising was his surprise led him to be casting a spell accidentally that froze the creature in place.
Did he just use magic?
“Now that is fascinating.” Senku said, with a pleased smirk, but he wasn’t sure about the follow up, because that ten seconds was fast approaching the end of its time and he was about to be attacked.

Senku was far more comfortable with the healing aspect, over the combat aspect and apparently this too was magic based, his hand on the vine as he soothed it.
“I wonder how this magic works, and how we got it.” He mused aloud.

Yoite had surprisingly little trouble dodging blows and anything he couldn’t dodge was deflected with his kunai. He was an elite ninja after all, and combat was where he was most comfortable. He looked a little bit tired, and lasers had to be dodged properly but he wasn’t having trouble.
He looked over at his teammate and frowned. “Come with me.” He told them, maybe he could protect them, at least for a little while.
Going Further – OTA
They were in a room and then they were in a forest and Yoite took a step back, briefly confused. “What kind of jutsu is this?”
It wasn’t a problem, he just wanted to know, except the kunai in his hand had been replaced with a stick. He looked at it skeptically.
“What just happened?”

It was kind of good that Yoite didn’t have his powers because he was up against creatures that they would work on. Instead, he found himself throwing water instead of qi blasts.
At least, it was effective. He was no less confused though.
He could keep the creatures off those healing the vines, at least until he gasps suddenly and leans heavily on the stick, coughing into his free hand. Digital world or not, apparently his digital body was just as weak as his actual one.

There's a girl in purple coaxing the vines beside him, a worried frown on her face. She's lifting her hand instinctively, until she remembers she no longer has her healing power and sadly lowers it.
Instead she kneels at his side, soothing the next vine. "I'm sorry. I'd do something for you if I could, but my magic is gone."

Raven | Purple+OTA
The sudden change in scenery wasn't the weirdest thing Raven had experienced. Which meant she adapted fairly well, dodging and weaving, phasing where needed, blocking with her dark energy. Still, she kept her eyes out for anyone who was having trouble reaching the panel with her.
Going Further
At first, she's taken aback by the white room and everyone being together again. Surprised, and curious (and suspicious) of those tubes of liquid. When the voices ring out, her eyes just narrow even further in curiosity and suspicion. It sounds simple enough...
Before she can look for familiar faces on other teams however, the room vanishes and they're all suddenly within a forest. With sickly looking red vines choking things. And she's armed only with a stick?
There's a slow blink, before Raven intones "Azarath Metrion Zinthos" and flings a hand out, prepared to summon her dark energy to move some of those vines. And nothing happens.
Was this another illusion? Like when Mad Mod kidnapped them, or tried to erase the American Revolution? Could she break it?
Heal and Destroy
Well, this just got more and more frustrating. She didn't have her powers, and there was some kind of mind-altering going on. It had taken her a bit to see through too, although she supposed she owed some twisted thanks to Mad Mod for the practice.
Being drawn towards the red wires (that had looked like vines a few moments ago) was not the most reassuring sensation for her, but they did have a job to do. Being armed with a white pole (instead of a stick) was also not her ideal weapon. Still, Raven had dealt with not having powers a few times before too--at least she wasn't a bunny this time.
Heading towards the wires, she reached out a hand to grab one--prepared to yank at it. Instead a blue glow emanated from her hand, and Soothed the wire. Running down it, and then fading away.

Not really. There's suddenly so much happening at once, and it's all so overwhelming that she doesn't even have the time to process everything that's going on here.
But what she does know is that she's spotting a familiar form. Even though Raven seems to be looking.. well, quite different from the usual. (It seems Madoka hasn't realised yet that she herself is very much looking that way at well.) It's what makes her look pretty worried as she runs over to the other.
"Raven..! Are you okay..?"

That's an ominous message. Enter the inner systems. Soldat doesn't like it already. They like it even less when the world changes around them, altering their perception. But they keep watch and circle the rest of the team, keeping up rear guard, on approach through the "trees".
At least they're good for launching... raccoons and squirrels back away from people. Weird. A gun would be detrimental for such small targets, a waste of ammunition, so they have a knife in each hand and make good use of the metal arm.
Said arm winds up slammed in front of a fellow teammate just in time for a laser to bounce off the vibranium alloy. "Sorry," they say. "You okay?"
II. Outside
As the first person presses their SCA to the panel and then sink down, unresponsive, Soldat... maybe panics a little. Not a lot, but a little. They've seen this before-- people falling asleep to enter a dream world to gain further intel-- but they also know that this place is not safe.
And also, they cannot make themselves take a single step closer to the panel, themselves. The fear of having something foreign in their brain is just too great. What if the Overseer or whatever is invading them found the trigger words. What if they found the off-switch. They can't do it.
So: guard duty. Soldat maybe gets Mami to create them a pile of single-shot rifles (if she will do so) and keeps one against their shoulder and a knife in the other hand, and prowls restless circles around the sleepers. Keep watch, guard, protect. This is what they're good at. No one will die here, on their watch. Even if they kind of feel like they're a great big coward, not going in to help with the actual mission objective.

Okay this is fine. This is fine. She glances between the creatures leaping at her, birds, friends! Friends with laser eyes! Of course. When she tries to dodge up, laser eyes to the leg--singing a nice hole in her pants and the skin beneath. Take it on ground level and you get claws. This is ridiculous.
"I really didn't want to do this." She breathes out and vines curl from the ground, creeping up to ensare those who try to attack her. It's imperfect, they're not laser or claw proof, but she's making some progress
B. Going Further/Heal and Destroy (OTA)
There's something to be said about dressing for the occasion. And if the occasion is doing something fight-y in the mortal world, who better to emulate than the furies? So she's all done up, in thing she hasn't worn in months--in a style she hasn't worn in months. It feels weird. Part of her wants to change the stick to a scythe, part of her isn't ready for that. She stays with an ebony stick, long and ready to poke.
"Okay, this has to be just like the game, right?" She's half talking to herself, half to those around her.
At first she sticks to the vines, something she knows. But--honestly this is kind of fun. Like a game. This isn't real is it? She could change her appearance, just like the VR game she played with Zetta. She takes a few swipes with her stick at a furious mongoose--then with her hand outstretched, it freezes.
"Oh--wait, did I do that?" She blinks at her hand and holds it out once more. This is way better. Less destructive at least.

"Orange, over here!" S'reee is planning on using her bulk and wizardry to provide some cover for any nearby teammates. Certainly, hardened air can block claws, though the lasers are a bit tricky.

Devero | Blue guest
Reach the panel, get into the inner systems, and give aid. That's straightforward enough, and Devero walks tall and confident towards the tangle of pipes and ducting that surrounds that great central tube.
He becomes slightly less tall and somewhat less confident when the column of machinery suddenly transforms into trees. "How the fuck?" he says. He steps between two of them, lifting his hand to his hand to his Interface as he looks around. His intention is to trigger one of the alternate vision overlays available through the forward camera, but he doesn't get that far.
Because the image he sees printed on the screen of his device is a ghostly overlay of tubes and pipes atop branches and bark.
He spends a moment taking his Interface on and off, as if he expects the image in either the forward camera or his eyeballs to change, but the two remain stubbornly incongruent.
"This forest shit is--" he starts to announce, and that's when a branch-- tube?-- comes down and strikes him across the breastplate of his borrowed armor, knocking him clean off his feet.
[ GOING FURTHER ]
Inside the system, as the brief view of mechanical tubes is replaced with another illusory forest, Devero groans aloud. "This shit's fake too, isn't it?" he snarls. He's not fooled, system, even if he has no Interface camera to see the truth through in here.
He would be more bothered by that were it not for his new holo-hardlight appearance. He feels as like him as he's ever felt, but he looks like one of those attendants they've been skirmishing with all the way here. Nope.
He feels up his hologram body aggressively, and everywhere he touches his appearance changes. The soft, friendly curves of the helpmate-facsimile form are replaced with the much harder curves of his huge body, wearing-- well, what he was wearing outside, actually. That borrowed Saiyan armor from Trunks.
"That's better," he says once his appearance is more congruent with his mental image of himself. "Don't know why they need to bother with this illusion bullshit anyway! Just let us see what's here!"
He's, ah. Gotten rather loud by the end of that.
[ HEAL AND DESTROY ]
The fact that the appearance of their surroundings is fake does not render the threats within invalid. He may not know what their fierce little attackers actually are, but that doesn't make their teeth or claws any less sharp.
He grabs one of the writhing things by the back of the neck and flings it away from whoever it's attacking, deep into the trees. "Hey, are you okay?" he asks his fellow passenger gruffly, touching near one of their obvious wounds--
And blinking in just-as-obvious surprise as the torn skin mends right before his eyes. There's no way he did that-- he's not magic!!-- so; "That's a handy power you've got."

More pipes and tubes to scramble over and around. Joy. Not that Trunks had been having much trouble so far with the environment, he'd been mostly helping others around it. Still, this did make him slightly annoyed.
Then the world seemed to shift, and there were trees everywhere? The leaves were brown, some falling. Trunks looked to where the panel was, relieved to find it still there. Well, this was somewhat better than pipes--trees were easier to get a grip on.
Moving forward though, wasn't easy. First it was branches trying to knock him and anyone with him away, then it was--was that a Squirrel? Wait, was that a squirrel with laser-eyes?
Going Further
Option A Reaching the panel had been a challenge; normally Trunks liked a challenge but this hadn't been a fun challenge. The room was bright, but otherwise reminded him a lot of the lead up to Dr. Gero's lab, when they'd found the blueprints. It wasn't entirely reassuring--and wait, it was more crowded. They were all together again!
Option B Wait, hadn't this just been a white room with pipes everywhere? Then some voices, and suddenly they were all in a forest? Trunks tried to kick off the ground, to get a better look--and nothing happened. Blue-eyes widened, and he looked down to find himself holding a stick. What was going on?

So many vines! Trunks was scowling, because this would be a lot easier if he could fly, or blast things with his ki. He thought about pulling out his sword from his ARMS Band, and had gone to reach for it--instead finding the stick he'd been holding now looked like his sword. So at least he wasn't completely defenseless. He looked around for someone to team up with, so they could get started. One person play defense and the other go toward the vines!

The Overseers [Red]
Such greenery... Thanatos takes a moment to stare. It's been so long. Greece has been frozen under blankets of snow. A sight like this doesn't exist anymore.But as the team draws nearer, the tree launches an attack. Branches dart out like snakes.
"I've got this." Taking to the air, he brandishes his scythe. Thanatos can fight against a tree. Cutting a branch or two doesn't kill it. His slices will be sharp and quick.
He doesn't yet realize there are more dangers in the foliage.
Going Further/Heal and Destroy
Thanatos has the sensation of his feet on the ground so suddenly that he spreads his arms out wide to steady himself. What--what just happened? He tries to levitate like usual. Nothing happens. Shifting has the same result. Nothing. Then, something else comes into clearer focus. His head feels so... empty. Quiet. A complete absence of what had been with him since his birth.Death Incarnate is no longer connected to death, and Thanatos feels very, very cold.
Is all this some sort of punishment? Woven into his fate for betraying his very duty as Death Incarnate? For helping Zagreus? Is this what happens when Death chooses a side?
Thanatos stands, frozen to the spot. He stares upwards wishing he could pick out the hints of a night sky. For the first time in a long time, Thanatos wants to call out to his mother like a little godling. He doesn't know what to do. What can he do now? Stripped of everything that made him who he was?
Going Further
Finding Thanatos takes him by surprise - though, admittedly, happening upon anyone has been taking him by surprise frequently, what with his Sense still blinded. He's not hovering - he's just standing there, staring up at the sky. The same thing that happened to everyone else has likely happened to him.
But what happens when you take the powers from a god?
"Thanatos?" He keeps an eye out for the weasel creatures as he approaches - the last thing they need is an interruption. "Are you alright?"

Hua Cheng | Blue team | ota
Hua Cheng entered through the Great spring, and from there, he joins the others to explore the centre of the sectors. It was a large chamber and once he figures out what he needs do, the world shifts it's seasons and instead of the technology, he sees trees.
The goal is to reach the panel, enter the inner systems if he can find his way through the maze of trees first, fighting his way through the trees that blocks his way. The trees guarding the inner systems push intruders away, flinging them back to the exit.
"The trees, it's the security of the system. We need to push forward."
Moving forward into the inner sanctum, that's when the creatures attack with their claws and lasers to stop them from going further.
II. Going Further / Heal and Destroy
Once they fought their way in, the panel is in sight, a simple glowing screen. Hua Cheng simply stare at it. But once the button is pushed with their SCA, whoever figured that out, their surrounding vanished and they end up in a large white room.
"Where are we? Is everyone all right?" Looking around, he finds himself in a forest.
In the forest, Hua Cheng doesn't really need any healing, being a ghost who is able to manifest himself as a solid person. Seeing the animals again, it's a matter of helping his teammates to make their escape safely if he could the animals and helpmates kept attacking.

Overseers- For Inigo and Tidus
When the first creature flies at him he ducks down, hiding in the roots as branches swing overhead and angry squirrels leap around firing beams from their eyes.
He stays as still as he can, there's blood in the air, enough to make him on edge, though faint and distant enough that he is not dizzy. The sound of fighting fills him with dread but it is something he is used to by now.
He watches through the roots silently, watching to see if the squirrel moves on. He's not sure he's going to be able to get to the centre, if it is guarded.

Curufin | Orange Team & OTA
Curufin scrambles carefully through the maze of pipes towards the central tube, along with anybody else who is accompanying him. When he reaches this large central tube, he checks his SCA and reads the message that instructs him to go to the panel that wraps around the tube. Strangely, as he moves forward, there is an abrupt and mysterious shift in the space around him. Suddenly the tangle of pipes is gone, and only the panel remains. In place of the pipes there is a great tree with tangled branches, which seems to be aware of the presence of the Void Warriors, and it demonstrates its displeasure at their presence by lashing its branches furiously.
"Stop that, Tree!" yells Curufin. "We're not enemies, we're friends. We're here to help."
The tree replies by striking at him with its bare wintery branches, knocking him on his ass. He tumbles and gets up again, just in time to become the focus of a bird attack. The birds are crows and ravens, and they fly at him with beaks and claws and with laser beams from their eyes. Since he can speak the language of corvid birds, he tries to calm them down by assuring them he is not here to harm them or the tree. They calm down, whether because of his words or because he is now close to the trunk.
Going Further (OTA):
He presses his SCA to the panel, and the device beeps. Suddenly another change takes place. He is no longer under the tree but in a white room filled with other Void Warriors. The four tubes filled with colored fluid speak, commanding the Voidtreckers to find the source of the trouble, heal, destroy, or purge it from that world.
"Sure, why not?" he says, looking around at the other train passengers. But suddenly there is another change. He is no longer in the white room but once again in a forest. He looks around carefully and sees the red vines choking the trees. And then he looks own at his own body and perceives that he is no longer a physical being but a hard light body. "What the hell. . .????" he exclaims. He lifts up the club in his hand and wonders how it came to be there. And then, inexplicably, he has a desire to be the First Age Elven warrior he once was, and suddenly he is wearing his black chain mail and carrying his sword, which he calls Meteor. He grins the fierce grin that so characterized him in those days, and he walks forward to see what he might find out.
Heal and Destroy (OTA):
When he touches one of the vines, a glowing blue light exudes from his fingertips and into and along the vine, causing it to fade away, thus freeing the trees. For hours he walks, removing one vine after another. He speaks to whoever is near him. "Now we're not Void Warriors or Void Plumbers as we were a little while ago, but Void Gardeners!" he laughs. "Wish I had a pitchfork to pull these things off the trees."
And then they are attacked by one of those mongoose-like creatures. "Back off!" he shouts, wielding his hard-light sword in one hand and the club in the other.
On the Outside (OTA):
If anyone comes into the area near the Great Winter tree, they'll see Curufin and others seated on the ground around the tree, eyes closed and radiating peace. Apparently, their trek through the forest takes place in their heads or in some imaginary space that is yet real on this world. If anybody steps near him and tries to wake him up, Curufin may or may not respond.

People have been spreading out to cover more ground within this virtual or whatever reality, but not splitting too far apart, just in case. The red vines were plentiful, but so were the tiny mongoose things; and they weren't hard to deal with, but they had a habit of showing up around every corner of a tree, from somewhere close to the canopies, to lower to the ground.
Suffice to say, they were a nuisance, and Tidus strikes one down with a thrust of his hand, blades of wind knocking it into the foliage below. But he's been looking out for the newcomer to the train - the reason he even bothered to stick with Purple Team in the first place. He didn't know anything about her, but still - he felt like he owed it to this other him that she knew to keep an eye on her.
"You alright?" he calls out, jogging on over to her.

So she soon unleashes some dagger leaves towards it, causing a few cuts on the thing which seems to keep them at bay for the moment.

OT People On The Outside
While Jack's consciousness has entered the system, his body has not- the same as everyone else. Unfortunately, without Jack inside it to project his hologram, the robotic frame he's left behind is...not pretty to look at. It's human shaped in a vague way, like an artist's doll with a dull bronze-colored metal skin. The eyes remain open, but are unlit by their usual blue glow. It stands unmoving with the others who have entered the system.
And then a soft beep emits and it starts to move.
It's heading in what seems like a random direction, not paying any mind to the other unconscious people, except to shove them out of its way.

She is writing some notes on how he's mad, trying to work out how much manual labor vs. industrial production must have went into it, whether it's evidence that some train components might be constructed 'off-site' when his body up and moves. No one else's! Just Jack's.

"OK, I never thought a squirrel would be a threat, but these guys are an exception," Lea said as he used his Keyblade to deflect laser beams an oversized robotic squirrel shot from its eyes. "Though I gotta give whoever designed this security system points for creativity."
At least he assumed it was a security system. It seemed to be trying to keep them away from the tree's trunk. Which meant that that was where they needed to get to, if the panel didn't make it clear enough.

"A stick?", Lea said, then looked up at the sky, annoyed. "Really, tube guys? Really?"
He sighed. "Guess we'll just have to work with it. Maybe we can find something better later."
Heal and Destroy
It didn't take a genius to figure out that those vines were a problem. But how were they expected to clear them with sticks? And why did he feel weirdly drawn to them?
Curious, he reached out and touched the nearest one... only for his hand to glow blue. Instinctively he jerked his hand back in surprise, but apparently the brief contact was enough. The blue light spread down the vine and it soon vanished. "Whoa... OK, now that's cool," he said. "Though this is likely gonna take awhile if we have to do this one or two at a time."
And it was right about then that the first mongeese things showed up. "...And it'll likely take even longer with those things around." Lacking another weapon, he lashed out at the nearest few with his stick... and a rapidly spinning disc of fire was flung from the tip of it. He grinned fiercely. "OK, now we're in business..."

"Perhaps we can alternate, one protecting the other for soothing, and then the other way around."
