Ongoing: All Teams

The first few days are taken up with solving the problems in the various sectors, all the while getting closer to their goal. The Great-Winter, Great-Summer, Great-Spring and Great Autumn.

On Day 9 of the month of Jelly they will see on their map a clear indicator of where to go. As they draw near it will be obvious what they are looking for.

The Overseers

In the centre of each of the sectors there is a large metal tube, hundreds of pipes lead from it, spanning up to the ceiling above and down below, creating a field of pipes and tubes to clamber over and crawl under to reach the central tube. On the tube itself there is a panel, wrapping around it in a circle. The SCA's of the Voidtrecker show an exclamation mark, if they click on them they will see the message.

Reach the panel, enter the inner systems and give your aid.

As Voidtreckers step towards the tubes it will seem as if the world shifts around them. Instead of metal and wire they will see trees. The Great-Spring is a tree in blossom, pink leaves spreading up across the canopy. Great-Summer has strong green leaves, Great_Autumns leaves are brown and falling and Great-Winter has no leaves at all.

The panel is still there, the only part of the scene that doesn't look organic. As the Voidtreckers move towards their goal the tree begins to move, branches fighting against those trying to get through the roots. The aim seems to be to push intruders away, going as far as flinging them back with higher branches.

The branches aren't the only security measures in place. As they push forwards they will find creatures coming at them from the trees.

Strangely the creatures look like creatures from their own worlds, any creature they would expect to see in a tree. Regardless of species they attack with claws and with lazers from their eyes. They don't move far from the branches, but try and stop invaders from getting close to the trunk.

For those that get through they will find that as they draw close to the 'trunk' the attacks stop, as if they have reached an eye of a storm.

Going Further

The panel is a simple glowing screen, there are no instructions but their SCA's will beep softly and if they press their SCA to the panel they will find everything vanishes, the trees, branches and weird animals.

Or perhaps it is they themselves that vanish as they find themselves in a large white room, everyone is together here. No matter what sector they had travelled through and which overseer they entered through.

There are four tubes filled with liquid, pink, green, orange and white towering over them.

"Our systems have been compromised." The four voices ring out. "Heal what has been harmed, destroy what should not be here. Find the source and purge it from our world."

The overseers and the room vanish and the voidtreckers find themselves in a forest, a forest that is slowly being choaked by red sickly vines.

The Voidtreckers themselves will find themselves looking different, almost like the hard-light holograms of the Helpmates though they certainly feel like themselves. They are carrying a sturdy stick but nothing else and depending how imaginative they are will quickly find they can alter their appearance to fit their wishes.

Heal and Destroy

The voidtreckers will find themselves drawn towards the vines, if they touch them they will be able to soothe, a glowing blue light from their hands that runs down the vine before it fades away, freeing the trees that it held in its chokehold.

There are many pathways, many vines and it will be a long task to clear it all. It is not long also before the first threats find them. Threats that look like mongeese, small creatures that will lunge at them, teeth bared and claws out.

Luckily the Voidtreckers will quickly learn the ability to soothe is not the only power gifted to them.

On the Outside

For anyone who does not enter through the panel it will seem like their fellow Voidtreckers have entered a deep trance. The area they are sat around the tree is calm, no threats enter there. But outside that area there are still threats, the branches attack, the animals attack and sometimes Helpmates try to evict those they see from the area, claiming it 'restricted.'

The Overseers – Blue

Yoite had surprisingly little trouble dodging blows and anything he couldn’t dodge was deflected with his kunai. He was an elite ninja after all, and combat was where he was most comfortable. He looked a little bit tired, and lasers had to be dodged properly but he wasn’t having trouble.

He looked over at his teammate and frowned. “Come with me.” He told them, maybe he could protect them, at least for a little while.

Going Further – OTA

They were in a room and then they were in a forest and Yoite took a step back, briefly confused. “What kind of jutsu is this?”

It wasn’t a problem, he just wanted to know, except the kunai in his hand had been replaced with a stick. He looked at it skeptically.

“What just happened?”

Heal and Destroy – OTA

It was kind of good that Yoite didn’t have his powers because he was up against creatures that they would work on. Instead, he found himself throwing water instead of qi blasts.

At least, it was effective. He was no less confused though.

He could keep the creatures off those healing the vines, at least until he gasps suddenly and leans heavily on the stick, coughing into his free hand. Digital world or not, apparently his digital body was just as weak as his actual one.

"Are you all right---"

There's a girl in purple coaxing the vines beside him, a worried frown on her face. She's lifting her hand instinctively, until she remembers she no longer has her healing power and sadly lowers it.

Instead she kneels at his side, soothing the next vine. "I'm sorry. I'd do something for you if I could, but my magic is gone."

Yoite did his best to stop coughing, but it was hard once he started.

He didn't hear what she said, but he saw her move and he assumed that what she'd been saying when he wasn't looking was something akin to concern for his well-being.

He was surprised by that general state of things but he was also getting used to it. He shook his head, stifling a cough. "I'm...okay." He gasped lightly.

Mami looked just a little skeptical.

"Is this an effect of the digital world? Have you been in one before?"

Could it do this to people?

"No, I haven't." Yoite shook his head. "I am like this sometimes outside of whatever this is."

He paused. "I still have the same limitations I do in the real world. I still can't hear anything."

"Oh...I'm sorry!"

She turned, focusing on facing him so he could read her lips clearly.

"I'll fight with you for a little while, okay?"

She waved her hand, firing the tiniest fireball---all right, so she wasn't quite a master yet. She had to get in there with a stick to ward off any creatures.

"Thank you, I...appreciate the help." He admitted with a bit of a frown.

He was starting to feel like a liability though, and he wasn't sure what to do about it. Without a doubt, he was going to be spending a lot of time training in the near future.

Yoite wasn't going to sit back and let Mami do everything though. He flung his water at the next creature to knock it over, glaring a bit and then whacked it with a stick.

She smiled at that, carefully lining up shots on her side of the field.

"It's okay, I'm new at this too," she admitted. "I know a bit about aiming, but it's slightly off...my powers are usually different. And I can't heal anymore, so I have to be extra careful---hey!"

And there's a vine lashing at her. She yelps as it hits, but pushes it back with an extra large fireball.

"I can heal too, sometimes." He admitted softly. It kind of depended on the problem, and it was invasive for a lot of people and taxing on him.

"I'll be careful."

Yoite, to his credit, has excellent reflexes. He was used to combat and moving about with his ninja speed, he was just a bit flustered by the fact his power wasn't at his disposal.

Mami nodded gently at him. "Glad to hear it. We need a big healer team...outside of this strange place, anyway."

She's getting better at dodging and weaving, using the fire strategically, but...this is sure a mess. She's starting to sweat a little.

"They just keep coming!"

He wasn't sure about that, if he could help that much, but he nodded all the same.

"I don't have my shuriken." He lamented. "And Kira doesn't work here."

Yoite just had his stick to whack with, so he was doing that, at least.

"Hey!"

Tidus jumps in when Yoite becomes consumed by his coughing fit, watching out for the small bastards jumping around and in the way. Fortunately by now knowing the extra ability gifted to him, and Tidus throws out a hand to stop the jumping creatures from lunging at the both of them with a blast of air.

It doesn't keep them down, but he hurries in, becomes a distraction to keep the heat off Yoite. Managing to take down one by the time another latches onto his arm.

yoite just give him five or something ok, he'll be over in a sec!!

Yoite was bent over from coughing so hard, apparently his digital body just wasn't stronger than his actual body and he took a few gasping breaths.

"I'm...fine." He told Tidus who was watching his back and he steadied his stick. He could help!

"Then watch out for any coming! Or deal with the vine!"

He's already grabbed the creature and yanked it from his arm, thrown off without remorse. Glad to hear Yoite speak, but there's one of the animals that still has him distracted, shooting off lasers that Tidus ducks out of the way of, throws out a spell of sharpened-wind like blades in retaliation.

If there's any more, Tidus is trusting Yoite to have his eyes open. Are any of the mongoose getting up? Are any more coming?

Three more are charging at them, with as much luck as they're having and he doesn't know what to do with the vine, and aside from trying to hit one with his stick - completely ineffecitve - he points at the mongeese.

Instead of his Kira spell exploding them into tiny animal bits, he seems to produce a rush of water which at least, knocked them over.

"Oh!" He said, surprised and blinked at his hand.

"Just like that! See anything, throw out your hand and think attack!"

Is that good advice? It's quickly given advice anyway, as Tidus deals with one of the other mongoose that didn't dissipate like the rest of its annoying siblings. The hosed down trio don't appear as if they'll be getting up again - and especially not when Tidus shoots off a small storm at them by the bladed winds.

"Heh! This is faster than my own magic!" Oh, but no time to get distracted- Tidus looks over at Yoite and starts to make his way over.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine. It happens a lot." Yoite reassured him and looked at his hand with fascination.

"How did I do that? I don't...I can't normally throw water at people. And it didn't feel like the technique I use either."

It hadn't hurt, is what he meant.

"Hm, I guess it has something to do with those overseers? This whole thing," Tidus explains, gesturing out to the foresty landscape they're in.

"Better than trying to whack those things with a sword or whatever though, right? I'm not going to complain. Hey, maybe you should see if you can make it do anything else!"

"It has to be." Yoite agreed. "Because I can't imagine we could change like this otherwise." He was a bit confused, but that was alright. He could fake it like he wasn't.

"Something else..." Yoite said and held out his hand, he preferred his pointing pose, so he did that and pushed, for not water.

Nothing seemed to happen. A mongoose was charging up its eyes and he settled on the water instead, knocking it over, its eyes dimming.

"... well, that works too," Tidus decides, seeing the result - it's not like it wasn't useful the way Yoite's been using it. But with them apparently having a moment - if only that - Tidus goes over to a tree and reaches out a hand to a vine, making its colouring change.

"It takes me forever to learn how to do new stuff with a spell. Just do whatever you can when you see something coming!"

"I'll try. I'm not used to this at all...sorry." Yoite said and focused on at least knocking them over and then hitting them with his stick.

It was slow, but mildly effective.
