So Familiar a Gleam: Conclusion

Time to leave!

There is not much of the city left, but the park is holding together as those anchoring help those who are not voidtreckers through back to where they belong. Monsters continue to attack and a little further out there is a battle of hearts and minds being fought with the mass of colours and chaos.

Eventually, after the bulk of citizens had been evacuated everyone with SCA's on would hear Jin-Roh's voice after a few frantic beeps, as Chiff aligned everyone's SCA's. "We are almost done here, if you are with anyone not tethered to a voidcraft get them to the evacuation point, as quickly as possible."

Anan pulls out of the anchoring point to call out to any defenders in the park. "Come on! Anyone who isn't a voidtrecker! It's time to go."

Luckily those off fighting the entity headed the message and made their way to the park as Jin Roh spoke again.

"Everyone else get ready. When we call it you need to leave. If you don't have your SCA on then get to someone who does."

As the last people rushed to the park Anan calls out again, through her SCA and outloud to the park. "You need to unanchor, before you can evacuate. Everyone be ready."

She goes in again though, because there are some last people, those from the large battle, getting through as another message was called.

"Almost there. Be ready. On my command..."

Anan unanchored again. "Quick everyone unanchor."

"NOW" Jin Roh's voice came through strong on their SCA's. Hopefully those with SCA's would grab those without.

There is some outside help as well, the train pulls anyone who is unconscious or still under the entity's control, forcibly evacuating them. This includes Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji and Zagreus.

Luggage Carriage

There has been a mass evacuation before and that was crazy enough but since then the population of the train has almost doubled and now it is an extremely tight squeeze as everyone crashes into the luggage carriage at the same time.

The train jerks and rolls as they enter into the void at breakneck speed and again as they seem to slow, rather than speeding off though the void.

There's a crackling from their SCA's. "Voidtreckers? Voidtreckers come in!" Anan's voice. "Please tell me you made it..."

There's only a few moments of signal and soon they are flying though the void again, away from the strange non-world, the entity sealed for now. To new adventures, but first hopefully some time to recover from all that has happened.

Guilty as charged. He's definitely not great at taking care of himself when there are others who need the care he can provide.

He listens, quiet, turning the homework over in his mind (after getting briefly hung up on the unfamiliar term). He can't think of anything, and he almost says so, but...he has time to think about this, right? He'll figure something out, once he's able to think outside of this brain fog again. "Okay," he says instead. "If you say so."

"I do." Thanks for noticing the words he said and that he's sticking to. "You get as much of this hug as you like, then you go to bed, and have good dreams thinking of stuff to do." And to get, but he already dumped all of that homework on Ryo's lap, and he doesn't want to push overloading the guy who's probably happier just leaning into him at the moment.

He pats at one of Ryo's shoulders like he did before, the gesture no more than something fond as he decides for himself: "I'm gonna eat......fish steak."

Behold, Tidus's great decision. The pause for thought and then declaration. Yes, fish. His brain isn't going any farther than that right now.

"Okay." He can follow instructions, at least. (That said, whether or not he remembers to retrieve his tea from Tidus's arms band at the end of all this remains to be seen.)

He blinks for a moment at that declaration. "Well, we do have a lot of fish." They'd gotten so much fish at the void nexus - there has to be some left, right?

"I love fish." Look, when you're standing around just hugging a guy and getting hugged, even your few brain cells start slipping. Which, when you only have one - it's been a week for him too. He can start daydreaming about fish. "Lived out over the sea, and all the different food there... still loved fish the best. Fish and rice, put in a bit of this and that- make a big bowl and then sit down and watch a show!"

Welcome to Tidus's life, pre-canon.

"You like fish? I'll make you some fish sometime. Some fish bites - you can eat them whenever."

That's okay, only one of Ryo's brain cells is functioning today - he's not about to criticize. He smiles into Tidus's shoulder a bit at the reminiscing. It all sounds so...nice. He's not about to turn down an offer of food, either. "That sounds good."

He takes another moment to turn the story over in his head. "You lived by the ocean? What's it like?"

"Like- watching the entire world live and sleep." ...that's not going to make any sense, but Tidus remembers without much prompt, his first memory always when he's unguarded: the view from his small boat of the city, the spots where he would park, a person on outside looking in. Waking and growing drowsy to that sight, a mood he wouldn't call peace or quiet, and yet-

"You smell the sea everyday," he goes on, "listen to the waves... the sun always wakes early with you, and you start to hear the city wake again, but it wasn't really the sleep waking, just some of the people. Zanarkand never slept." Never. "That's the name of the city I lived in; a city like Jinnjar, kinda. All that tech, but a lot more water. A lot cooler," he adds. Can't leave that out.

"I lived out in a boat." Lived as a part of the city, but- you know. Details. "I could go wherever I wanted! It was great - I loved it there."
