Enemy Unknown: Comms

Talk to All

Talk to Team

Talk to Individual

For the third option, a list of passengers appears and names can be searched for by letter. Anyone who has been working to try and make communications happen on their own devices will find those linked in to this network- though it is still only possible to use voice. If they have headphones from the music room they can make it so they work like earpieces.

The comms are a bit crackly. They cannot reach those who have vanished.

So you think this is all a simulation, and we are pieces on a board.

That...makes some amount of sense. It would explain the lack of injuries or viscera, at least.

But if that is the case, then what is our next move?

Nonlethal, but dangerous force, the inability to get into certain rooms, the fact the robots CAN point out a safe room, but not figure out how to be quiet, how a way forward can be consistently found without needing to be a hacker or master thief with puzzle security systems that make for poor security.

Honestly, it was way too much Deja Vu.

Unfortunately the next move is play the game. Without knowing what the exact rules are beyond what we've discovered, we can't break the game. Especially with hostages. Losing could mean they're lost and just because our play is nonlethal doesn't mean the punishment for failure is too.

But when we reach the end, it's better to expect someone pulling the strings then be surprised.

Fair enough. I do not think any of us expected to be in an escape room, but we will need to adjust.

I am curious as to motive - whether the distress call was genuine and fooled the train, or whether it knowingly volunteered us for a team-building exercise.

Escape room? Wait, I thought death games weren't a common thing?

...if this is team building, I'm fighting the train.

[...give him a moment to adjust here.]

Escape rooms are generally not fatal on my world, outside of horror movies. They are meant to be team building exercises or a fun afternoon with friends; the premise is entirely fictional, and the objective is to solve puzzles as a team.

Regardless, I am certain there will be a conversation to be had.
