No Place Like Home: Outside
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: OUTSIDE
HOME SWEET HOME

You're somewhere familiar, or just - the last place you remember being before your life became tethered to the Voidtrecker Express. A field, a city, a kingdom, or perhaps even a space station. You should be nowhere, yet you find yourself somewhere, despite all odds.
People - if there are people - don't at first notice you; but attract enough attention to yourself, and that will all change. Friends, family - are they near, a phonecall away? It's either everything you wanted or everything you imagined (for good or worse), and it could seem unbelievably real. But it is real - you're off the train, back somewhere you know.
...If only.
You're moving away from where you arrived, for whatever reason. Who wouldn't? You may be far from home, have business elsewhere, or want to go sightseeing. It's time to return to - and live - your life, and that doesn't include sticking to one place.
But you'll find that when you reach a point, the world becomes...foggy. A fog that you hadn't seen in the distance before it appears, and when you walk through it, you'll find yourself in a place some have already found themselves in.
Because for some passengers, there was nowhere for them to return, and so the barriers lead only to fog, and then straight back onto the platform. The Voidtrecker Express may be stationed, or there may be a blanket of fog where it should be; sometimes, it can be caught trying to leave the station, only to come back a few minutes later. The doors are shut tight, and the windows are obscured, showing nothing inside.
Those who came from somewhere can go back, should they go through the turnstiles again. And if they want, they can take people along with them, too...
But sometimes, they go to a world no one knows. They go through the barriers into nothing, a black emptiness. Not space, for those that know space, and it doesn't seem to be the void either. But it is a void, devoid of anything at all. Just a darkness so complete they will not be able to see anything at all, they will only know their companion is there through touch and sound. How they are breathing, how they are living at all, is a mystery; one probably answered only by the SCA on their wrist.
Being there brings an unease deep down inside them. This place is not natural, not somewhere that they should exist in. Not a place that should exist at all. Luckily they are never there for more than a few moments before they return once more to the station, fog covering them like a safety blanket.

A DIFFERENT CORNER: LOCATIONS
In the first couple of days (whatever that means, when time doesn't match up between most places), the only way to move to another's tethered location is by them leading another there. But after that, individuals will show up in other locations when they reach close to the distance limit. Indeed as time goes on everything gets a lot less stable. They may know their five miles perfectly but still one step to another leads them back to the platform. Attempting to return to their world leads them somewhere else entirely.
And there's quite a few places to end up.

OOC NOTES
OOC post. Ask questions here.
LOCATION TOPLEVELS: Since it'll be easier for players to engage with settings presented by those offering them, when we see a toplevel for one of the above locations put up, we'll add it to the list! We've also included the OOC comments for settings to the side, so any questions can be left with the player, as well as extra details. Please always speak with the player first if you intend to do anything drastic to the setting!
A REMINDER: Time of log is Poi 22-25, but time within worlds can last up to a maximum of two weeks. Minimum is whatever you want it to be.
During Poi 22 and 23, characters will need to be led to a location to be able to access it. From Poi 24, people will show up in locations regardless of invitation.
The second half of the event will go up during 20th to 25th February (Poi 26-28). But as always, play around in here and do as you like!
If your character's setting isn't above, link us to it in the Questions post, along with your toplevel! We'll add it.

SO it meant trying some other options possibly.
"I will help, but I don't think kicking will do it if it already doesn't work. Maybe when it appears there can be something to grab?"
no subject
He doesn't think it's a bad idea, but.. on the other hand, if the train won't notice a kick, it might not notice a grab either. But it's at least worth a try.
They're stuck here on this platform anyway, and it feels more useful than just wasting their time by sitting down here all this time. Especially when too much time wasted might mean they will eventually be fully left behind by the train.
no subject
"Are we anywhere near where the door would be. That would be the best place."
no subject
"Go right ahead."
After all, what's stopping you, Yugi? Maybe the part that the doors aren't exactly super easy to grab onto when they're closed, but.. well, with some effort it should be possible.
So it's worth a try.
"Just give a shout if anything happens or you start to feel weird." You never know, considering their current weird, weird circumstances. "I'll pull you back right away."
no subject
"Do you think there is anything here he could use first before human testing though." Might be a wise idea, if not he figured someone had to, so he would at least then try.
no subject
Inigo stops for a moment, glancing at Yugi. He looks a little surprised for a moment, like his brain is having trouble processing what he's hearing here, but then he shakes his head.
"Hey, I'm not telling you to let yourself get dragged along by it." Please, Yugi! Inigo might be desperate here, but he's not that desperate. He wouldn't just do that to anyone. If someone had to test out that extreme of an idea, he'd rather have it be himself. "I thought you just wanted to grab on to the train for a moment, to try and see if it'd pay attention to that. That's all!"
no subject
But he knew they had to at least do something, so it really just seemed logical really.
"It's either that or we both try and see if it's any different. But as I said I'm okay with doing it."
no subject
"It's fine. I don't think that is going to do much good anyway."
Hence why he just thought it was a 'grab and shake the train' kind of idea! He's just trying to get its attention, that's all. They don't need to hold on for that. If previous experience with people being left behind on platforms means anything, it'd just be bad news.
"Let's just try to grab its attention instead! Bang on the doors, make a lot of sound. You can do that, right?"
Can you yell, Yugi? Show your spirit!
no subject
"But isn't the train always coming in and out, so... I'm not sure if knocking will do anything, but it is at least an idea to try. Shall we both go on three?"
As to what Yugi was going to do. Probably knock politely or something.
no subject
Inigo isn't sure if it'll do anything either, honestly. But they've got to do something, he feels. He can't stand just hanging around here and watching the train come and go, not when he knows that maybe at some point the train won't come again, totally abandoning them.
And then they'll be just as lost as all the people who left on previous platforms.
"I'll count. One.. two.. three..!"
It's the count, Yugi! Go wild!
no subject
"I think I managed to at least touch it but... still going in and out."
no subject
Because the moment Inigo hits that three, Yugi knocks.. but Inigo instead starts to move, raising his leg to kick the train door as hard as he can. Truly the contrast of being gentle with something versus going wild here, huh.
(To be fair, Inigo did expect Yugi to do something wilder than knocking too! He underestimated the other's gentle nature..!)
But while Yugi is busy calmly analyzing what just happened, Inigo is..
.. well, he's just grabbing his foot and groaning in pain.
Sorry, Yugi, just give this poor guy a moment here. He might not have had the brightest idea.
no subject
"I'm not sure if my manadrive will help with your foot, but I have it with me if you need healing because that really has got to hurt."
no subject
Inigo shakes his head, even though he's still definitely clutching his foot in pain and hopping around.. But then again, maybe it's since he knows this pain is sharp, but temporary. He's probably going to feel better in a few moments, it's just that it kind of stings right now.
"I'll be fine, it's just.. just--"
Inigo cuts himself off in half-frustration, half-pain, shaking his head again before she speaks up once more, this time definitely sounding frustrated.
"This is all the fault of that dumb train!" Look, sure, he hurt himself by kicking it, but it's the train's fault for throwing him out when he wasn't planning on leaving in the first place!
no subject
But he also could understand why something like that is also very, very frustrating.
"Just makes me wonder if the people on board have noticed and if they are figuring out what to do for those who didn't want to leave."
no subject
Besides, Inigo is too annoyed by this situation to just hop around like that.
"There's no way they haven't noticed." Sure, maybe no one would have noticed it if had just been the people who chose to leave who left the train. But.. "I told people that there was no way I was leaving. They wouldn't think I just changed my mind."
Especially Tidus, considering the conversation Inigo had with him. There's no doubt in his mind that Tidus is currently telling the train to pay attention from the inside - which is why Inigo is so determined to do it from the outside.
no subject
"But the biggest issue is...how can we actually get it to notice from the outside."
Yugi wanted to help, but that question currently in stumping him considering what they just tried.
no subject
Because all Inigo is getting for his efforts here is a sore foot. And it doesn't even seem that the train noticed them, because it sure isn't opening the doors, nor is it giving absolutely any other sign that it actually knows they're out here.
"And I have absolutely no idea how else to grab its attention. If it doesn't even notice something hitting it, then what does it notice?" After all, Inigo sure would notice it if someone kicked him, thanks. Why can't the train do the same? How dumb is it?
no subject
"But we know it's not a normal train." He added as he paused. "Do you think we coudls tick a note to it somehow? Do we have paper and a pen?" As dumb as it sounds a apart of him wonders if that could be a way.
no subject
But while he's trying to think of that, he can't help but ask:
"Do you think the train could just read a note?"
no subject
Once he pulled it out and held it up happily.
"Just what exactly do you want to say on it and we will see what happens."
no subject
Mostly because he figures this won't work. But on the other hand, he can't truly say he tried everything until he tries this too, so he goes along with it. Even though he's grumbling at the same time for sure.
"Fine, fine. Just give me that stuff and I'll write." Dumb train.
no subject
But if it was what he wanted Yugi wasn't going to stop him either as he held out the pen and notebook.
"Even if this does nothing at least we can say we really tried."
no subject
But after he takes the book from the other, he just ends up staring at the blank page for a moment. The ridiculousness of the situation aside, what does he even write? How does he even summarize their situation..?
After that moment of thought, he leans down, starting to write 'We're still out here.' on the paper before handing it back to Yugi.
"There, you can add to it. .. Oh, and I guess we should put our names on it too."
Just in case the train does actually somehow notice it, even though he doubts that will happen.
no subject
So he adds a little bit underneath 'Please if you are able to let at least those that want to go back, back on, please and thank you.'
"At least with that you might not need to add names. Because those that want to get back on would become more obvious, but I will add your name at least if you want that?"
