Crashing Down: Start

As the Voidtreckers are going through their morning routines on the 24th Quicksand, there comes a train announcement over the comms. When it ends, their SCAs glow and bring up a holographic screen as is common before a mission. There's a few hours to prepare before a new announcement:

Shortly arriving at system #78961112094711. Leaving the void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.

The train shakes as it leaves the void. As explained by the mission brief, those who are not wearing their SCA will not be able to physically leave the train.

But for those that do, they will find their SCA lights up with their stopwatch. Counting down from five hous.

HOUR ONE

The Voidtrecker Express lands them within a voidcraft multistorey, the same one as when they came to holiday at the Irue Grotto. As soon as it does, their SCAs vibrate and bring up a message, audio and transcript (including brialle) become available from a Ministry worker: the tethering station is on the first floor, and there will be people and gear waiting for them, depending on what jobs they're taking up.

Evacuation plans have already begun, and everything is going to get hectic, fast. Voidtreckers will have no end of work available.

1. PROCESSING. For the more tech-minded, plenty of help is needed. Containers of SCAs in storage need to be scanned and made sure they're not faulty before they're loaded up and sent off to communities outside the Irue Grotto. It's a simple if tedious process, but necessary. There's also helping to process people, getting visitors to the planet back to their voidcrafts, so they can leave and make room for more voidcrafts to station.

People can help civilians through the health scanners, or help manage the cyro-pods that they'll be placed into, Setting up the pods isn't too difficult, it just requires hands and the ability to follow an instruction manual. The void scientists happily give this task to any voidtreckers availible to help so that they can get on with the tasks that require more know-how. ( ORANGE1 )

2. GATHERING. The Ministry also need help with bringing in people. Hover trams will help take officials - including Voidtreckers - into the Irue Grotto, to pick up people at farther parts of the city, and who can't walk to the tethering station. Directing people is necessary, as well as making sure that people have caught the message of the evacuation in the earliest hours; but also those less keen, not taking the call seriously will need to be persuaded.

People are also needed to begin going to further out communities. There are emergency broadcasts throughout the planet but the ministry and the local governing groups are aware that not everyone is going to have heard them. The ministry scramble to give the voidtreckers official passes, to help give credibility to their announcement of evacuation. ( PURPLE 1, BLUE 1 )

3. JOIN THE QUEUE. Help will be needed to help keep some semblance of order, to create a flow to keep everything running. Out in the streets, or even in the tethering station, people will become more panicked if they think they've missed their ride, if they have to wait for too long. It's not yet violent, but people with presence will be useful for helping keep everyone sensible. ( RED 1 )

HOURS TWO AND THREE

The work continues to bring people from their lives to the tethering stations, now packed by anxious individuals. There's aid needed for people outside the Irue Grotto, a call for drivers and more volunteers to stay back and help with tethering processing to get people onto the liminal stations. Panic rises with the tension, and there's also signs of disbelief for what's apparently going on.

The Ministry are handing out SCAs to be taken to those who can't come to the stations, to help with the tethering process. With quick training, people can tether themselves, and arrive at the liminal stations awaiting them.

1. ALL ABOARD. Even in the most busy of void hubs, the tethering and platform systems are not designed for an entire planet to arrive all at once. Those volunteering can access the void by a device at the tethering station. The ministry workers explain that it won't disrupt their own tethers, and they will be able to freely walk through the barrier back to the ministry building. The platform is larger than any voidtreckers have seen in their time in the void, closer to the transport station. There are rows of train tracks, but also docked air craft, space craft, there's even a port with voidcraft that look like traditional ships that would sail through water, if there were any water in the void.

All those tethered have tickets and so should know where they are going, but volunteers have been given tablets with an ever growing database to match passengers up to their voidcrafts. From there, it's a case of helping direct people, carrying luggage, and hurrying children along.

For those who would rather not be around panicked people, there's plenty of work loading animals, be they pets or animals from the zoo, who have their own dedicated voidcraft. ( ORANGE2 )

2. THE IRUE ZOO. Outside the Irue Grotto the planet is pretty rural. Not far from the city is The Irue Zoo, a clutter of domed conservatories customised to house creatures from across the system's planets: avians, reptiles, creatures that don't match anything Voidtreckers know. The zookeepers have already had collars delivered- devices similar to SCAs but for use on animals. They do however need help getting them on the creatures. For any tiny animals, there are chip guns - but, you'll need good aim.

Using drones, those piloting them can also help to make sure an area has been cleared and no one left behind, without the person piloting even being physically present. ( PURPLE 2, BLUE 3, ORANGE 3 )

2. OSIGA VILLAGES. In the villages, there are families who just don't have easy access to reach the Irue Grotto: not everyone has a vehicle. Some eagerly climb into the Ministry ride that Voidtreckers take to reach their communities, while others will need help to go to them instead. They might have family members who can't make the trip, others are more worried about their pets or farm creatures, for those lucky to have indoor farms. Luckily the SCA packs that voidtreckers were given also contain the animal tethering collars- the ministry had factored that into their evacuation plans.

More of a challenge are those who refuse to leave the lives they made, who've barricaded and are making it difficult to be helped. They might not trust the ministry. They might not believe that the threat is real. Or they might resist the idea that this threat cannot be fought, after all they are Osigan, not a weak people at all. ( ORANGE 3, RED2, PURPLE2, BLUE3 )

HOURS FOUR AND FIVE

As their countdown clocks tick to two hours remaining there is a message from Anan. The main bulk of people have been processed by now, freeing up those helping in the grotto to move out to further flung communities. Almost all efforts are now on the portable tethering kits, voidtreckers encouraged to travel by speeder to get to as many places as possible.

1. OFF WORLD. Anan waits at the main transport hub next to a space ship. It's not particularly large, clearly made for short inter planet journeys rather than long durations in space. She looks understandably worried, Chiff sat like a hat on her head, but she welcomes people on board for half an hour before they leave.

They're headed to a space station, getting there not for the faint hearted as it's situated in an asteroid field. Luckily, Anan can pilot her way through safely. The station is mostly occupied by elderly people and small children, suspicious people, a couple even tangry at Anan for leading strangers to their door. She takes their ire with humility but is quick to get down to business.

Here like on Osiga people have varying reactions to the news. The children are frightened but generally tough souls. Some of them know Anan and Chiff already and that helps with coaxing them. ( RED 2-3, BLUE 3, PURPLE 2-3 )

2. ON PLANET. The easily convinced have been evacuated by now, which leaves those who are, for variety of reasons, more difficult. Some are the furthest away from the Grotto, the travel time longer. Here, there is often unrest. There's been a couple of hours for people to work themselves into a state of panic. Even those ready and prepared to be evacuated are frustrated.

As they travel they might even find bands of people moving towards the grotto, angry and assuming they have been forgotten, abandoned. They can be calmed, especially when they learn that the voidtreckers have tethering kits and are here to help. But it will take some loud voices and calm personalities to break through that fear and anger. ( BLUE 2, PURPLE 3 )

3. THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE. But what of those who are adament they will not leave? The refusers are not one homogeneous group. Some refuse to believe what is happening. World eaters? Whose heard of them? Who are these strange people who are trying to empty their world? They never did trust the ministry, setting up in Irue like that...

Others truly believe that leaving their home to an otherworldly threat is an act of cowardice. Surely they should stay and fight. Stand against this threat and drive it back. They have weapons, surely if everyone just made a stand they could stop what was about to happen.

Others just can't bare to leave their homes. They are old and would rather face their fate in the comfort they know rather than leave to go to the void- they might know of it but that doesn't mean they trust it. Others are very aware of what this means, they survive but their bodies do not.

Some can be convinced, others are more stubborn. It may be best to focus on those who do want to leave, but there is no easy answer. ( RED 2-3, BLUE 3, ORANGE 3, PURPLE 2-3 )

All the time the skies are calm and clear, no sign of the approaching danger present. In some ways, this makes it harder; te only indication they have is their SCA clocks counting down. Hours turning to minutes, counting down to catastrophe.

She doesn't wait any longer than the half hour she said she would, the time it takes for her to load and prepare the space craft. She works quickly, outwardly calm and focused though its hard to hide the slight tremor in her hands as she moves moves and disconnects docking lines.

Before takeoff

Lea was of much more use on world. He knew this. But at the same time, he couldn't not take a few precious moments to help Anan more directly. "Hey," he said, as he approached her. And no, he didn't miss the tremor, as he got close enough to see it. "Got your message. I'd be way more help here than on a space station, but wanted to at least offer you a second pair of hands at getting set off. And... well, make sure you didn't have to do it alone, you know?" They both knew that when Anan left her world this time, it would be the last time. And no one should be alone for that.

Transport Tycoon Unlimited (Red, Blue, Purple)

In the course of the adventure, three vehicles distinguish themselves: a beat-up old truck, familiar to anyone who's been on the train for any length of time; a space fighter, now repurposed for long-distance travel; and a local large transport, albeit one decorated with kickass flames and apparently modified with sixteen paired exhaust pipes. But wherever you look, there's Zetta, thanks to some divine teleportation powers and an absolute refusal to trust his minions with anything sensitive.

"All right. Who do we have to convince to evacuate?"

Considering he says this while drawing power around one uplifted fist like purple flame, and behind him minions emerge from the vehicle with weapons drawn and eager looks on their faces, maybe he shouldn't be trusted either.

Village People (All Colors)

"Open the door and let me come in!" Zetta bellows at the closed front door of a farmhouse, then pauses. After a moment with no response, he makes a circling 'hurry-up' gesture with one hand -- then scowls. "Oh, so they won't even say their lines, huh? I need you --" a finger points to whoever's with him -- "to watch the back windows. They're coming with us whether they like it or not."

So saying, Zetta crouches down, then sticks his hands under the wall of the farmhouse. Here we go!

No, judging by the expression that is currently on Inigo's face, the problem is so much more that Inigo has no idea how to work any of these. He's been handed guns a few times on missions now, but these are different entirely, and he looks clueless as heck as he rushes to grab a few more to hand over to Edge. ]

Hour One

[Panicking crowds? Impending doom? Seems like just another day for Shen Qingqiu. Does he like it? No. Is he doing something about it? Yeah, sure, that's his job or something.

...Well, the purple team seems to mostly be helping with directions and things like that, but f that noise. No, this little fox has chosen to go out and practice his vaguely self-taught fox powers on unsuspecting passersby! Fellow voidtreckers might catch a flash of blue in his eyes as he compels the common people to calm down and follow directions. (it works a good chunk of the time, if not fully or perfectly...)]

Hour 2-3

Is there really a point to saving all of these little beasts? I'm sure there's better things we could be doing with our time.

[Like leaving? Or saving more of the people, I guess. Complaints aside though, he is, in fact, working hard at getting collars on all the zoo animals. He will! Subdue!! Might've overused the fox powers on the crowds earlier, sadly, or he'd be cheating again right now.]

Kaiba's stony face is in place from the moment they arrive. There's too much to do, too much terror to fight back...he's not the best at comfort, not by a long shot, but he can perform tasks efficiently. All other thoughts need to be banished, he's here to work.

He scans the SCAs first, learning what he can in the process, then moves over to the cryo-pods. It doesn't take him long to learn the process, but if he looks too long at them...his stony face starts to crack.

"So it's lose their bodies or fully die. Not the greatest choice." But a necessary one, he has to admit.

hour 2-3: osiga villages

Kaiba's really not good at the people part, but he's been entrusted with carrying SCAs out to those who need to tether from afar. He'd prefer to pair with a more outgoing person, and as he moves to head out he looks around...

"I can describe the threat, but I can't comfort. Tell me you can."

Yeah, that's his way of asking for help in this task. Please assist. Or mock him, your choice.

Taiki isn't exactly outgoing but he is empathetic and is a generally calming figure. He's been transporting SCAs for the most part but right now he is in his human form, approaching Kaiba.

"I can. I'll help you."

Though honestly he thinks that Kaiba would do fine even alone, he is kinder than he thinks he is. Taiki has never thought of him as cold or unfeeling. He has brought comfort to Taiki before.

Gathering

Logistics and transport is more or less Hera's job description anywhere she goes and this is no exception. She remembers the last catastrophe mission and is ready for this one to go just as direly. Sleep is overrated.

So she sets right to work talking to the people and directing them to the relevant places. "Is there anyone from your group missing?"

Better get that settled before there's panic enroute after all.

Villages

In some ways, the villages are more of the same. It's just herding Lothcats, anywhere she goes.

When they get to the further villages, she starts by acknowledging it. "Thank the Force we reached you in time." She can't blame anyone for getting antsy.

The ones who don't want to come are a little trickier. Just arguing with the holdouts isn't going to get far, so she's trying to find out what the actual objections are from the locals.

Quickly, of course. Time is not on their side. "I know how it sounds. But the danger is real."

Off World

Hera hadn't considered the fact that volunteering for this was going to mean travelling through an asteroid field. MOre specifically, that it would mean doing so with someone else at the helm.

She's famously good at sitting calmly with someone else in the pilot's seat.

But once they've reached the station, there's worth to be done. The children get a kindly word and anything else they need. The more suspicious types...

Well, there's a trick that works sometimes. "How do you figure the Ministry would fake this?"

Sure, it might be a well thought out theory. Or it might stump them enough that they come along.

Well. Mostly. But right now she's trying to save their lives and this is very frustrating.

She pounds on the door again. "Be coming back here or I will be kicking it down!"

On Planet
Of all the transportation options available, a lot of the crew would probably find it odd that one of their number was riding what looked like a horse at first glance. With an average gallop speed somewhere around 25 miles per hour, an ordinary horse would be left far, far in the dust by even the most basic of modern transportation.

An ordinary horse wouldn't be moving above the ground, or leave a trail of wispy smoke behind. An ordinary horse wouldn't have glowing red eyes, or a mane that looked to be made of shadow.

An ordinary horse wasn't a Nightmare.

Using one of his souls in this manner was a little tiring, but speed was an absolute imperative right now. Soma has a backpack slung over his shoulders with his supplies for the mission: a tethering kit and whatever restoratives he was able to pull from Purple's stock. He'll be replacing them later - being an alchemist has its perks - but right now, he's chugging his second magic potion and tossing the bottle in his pocket.

When he meets the first group, he sets to work as quickly as he can with the unfamiliar equipment. Leaving the bodies behind is going to bother him, but there's no better option right now. With the information he had gained from Lia Nine, he'd be better prepared next time... but next time might be a long time coming. He sincerely hoped it would be a long time. For now, all he can do is save as many souls as possible...

He's not the only weird fast flying horse creature in the air. Taiki is returning from going to collect another SCA bundle from Irue to bring out to the villages. He's been trying to be as helpful as possible and that means using his speed and ability to fly to everyone's advantage.

He knows that Osiga doesn't have much in terms of magical creatures and so he is surprised to see someone else flying on a horse. He lands near by and tilts his head at the shadow horse and the man.

"I have more SCA's here." His mouth doesn't move when he speaks, but he is audible all the same, his mane blowing in the wind.

Hour One

Processing The stone that had settled on his heart after all he had seen in Tai was one that was useful today, waking in a suitcase to an announcement of a mission and a catastrophe mission at that. The world destroyers, much like the mission so long ago that had ended in disaster and this time on a world they knew. A world they knew people on.

All they could do was try and save as many lives as possible. He is grim and determined as he begins their task, dressed in a red warm coat, hat and scarf he sticks to his own team for the first hour and can be found helping people be processed into the tethering stations. There are queues set up and he has a data pad that one of the void scientists had handed him, he walks down the line asking for their names, addresses and other information that will help speed up the process once they are inside.

Lost Even in the most calm evacuation scanrioes there are a lot of people, a lot of scope for things to go wrong and near the end of the first hour he hears a soft crying. It doesn't take him long to find a little boy, perhaps less than five years old. Separated from his family in a surge forwards.

Taiki can be found walking through the crowd, child in arms. "Have you seen anyone missing a child?" He asks any voidtreckers he sees, all the while keeping calm, his voice soft as to not panic the boy.

Hours Two and Three

Speed Run Once the effort was moved from the grotto itself to further out communities he transformed. Speed would be useful and he knows there are voidtreckers who wouldn't know how to drive a speeder, but could easily ride on his back.

Being in kirin form also helps in situations where people are worried, especially the younger people. They might hide from strangers with dire news coming to their village but the draw of a horned flying creature meant they were coaxed out of hiding.

"Do you need to get those SCAs somewhere? I can carry you." He offers, flying back and forth from villages to the main grotto.

He can even be sent back to grab supplies if they are running low.

Final Hours

Painful choices "I understand..." Faced with an old couple who did not want to leave Taiki looked pale and worried. It's not an easy thing to face. He knows they can be saved, if only they come with them but... Was it right to just take them?

They should be able to choose. But... "Please, if you just give us a few moments and listen..." He glanced a the voidtrecker next to him. Was this the right thing to do?

Angry Citizens If old couples not wanting to leave their home were difficult to deal with it was nothing compared to the group Taiki was faced with now.

"It's just lies." One of them was yelling, more at the others in the crowd than at Taiki.

"No. Please, listen." This many angry voices, a crowd like this, angry and close to violence. Taiki was fighting to stay in the present, to remind himself that he had to be here, to not run, to try and save these people. "The threat is real, this world is going to be destroyed."

"Says who? The ministry?" One sneers at him, crowding up to him. Taiki froze, looking like a deer in headlights as the man prodded him hard in the chest.

Final Hours -- Painful choices

Thomas nodded. "Do you have children? Grandchildren?" He looked for a reaction, then continued. "I know that's what I would want most. To spend more time with my children, even if I had to leave everything else behind."

HOUR ONE – PROCESSING

Testing new production isn’t anything Bulma hasn’t busied herself with before. Even she had to work through shipment upon shipment testing capsules in her younger years, learning the ropes of everything that she was eventually going to take over at Capsule Corporation. As much as she would typically want to participate in that process, though… she’s whisked through a few times to give advice, and instead moved along to processing. Unfortunately she also has experience in this, in her own way, though with a bit less rush.

Getting the Namekians she’d taken in on Earth back to New Namek hadn’t been quite so rushed, but a process nevertheless.

And, at any rate, Bulma is loud and assertive enough to make it work.

Which is exactly what she takes on, a hand moving in a ‘move along’ motion as people load in to their voidcraft.

“Alright everybody, let’s keep this moving. Nice and orderly, in to your ships so that others can come in. Everyone needs off of the planet, after all.” … She is perhaps far too calm about this, but to be fair, she’s been on one too many destructing planets in her lifetime. She’s also available if anyone is struggling with a more hard headed passenger.

HOURS TWO & THREE

ALL ABORD - Mounting anxiety seems to have taken over by now, but no one would guess by the way Bulma conducts her business, tablet in hand, working methodically. Everyone gets a friendly, placid smile as they approach, and of course Bulma will take the time to fuss over a child or two as she works, ever exacting even as the hustle around them grows.

There’s palpable tension in the air, and it’s like every child on the platform seems to sense it, babies wailing at the tops of their lungs as they’re brought by their guardians, and though Bulma herself doesn’t really feel that anxiety for a planet that wasn’t her own… she’s been here before. Another family boards, and she turns to a nearby fellow voidtrecker to sigh :

“These poor people will never see this planet again. I wish I didn’t know what that’s like but.. without the dragon balls there’s not much more I can do other than this.”

OSIGA VILLAGES - There is one thing she knows – and that’s very stubborn people. Of course, having lived among saiyans for a time now, and having dealt with this at least once.. Bulma’s approaching this whole ‘loading up stragglers’ thing with as much practicality as she can.

Which means she is, perhaps, not as delicate as others may approach it upon seeing a few barricaded in, maybe even beating their chests about not being a weak people. She’s seen this before (cough cough) – and rolls her eyes more than once at any particularly vehement denier. This one may get her in to trouble, but she hadn’t blinked an eye at screaming at a giant Oozaru last month, and so will not hesitate to flatly assert :

“Sure, I don’t blame you for not trusting the ministry. But you can’t go on beating your chest about how strong Osigans are if Osigans, or your line of particularly dense Osigans, no longer exist, so get packing.” With an impatient flick of her hand.

“Or this’ll just become a weeding out of its own kind when the planet goes.”

HOURS FOUR & FIVE – RIGHT TO CHOOSE

.. This is getting eshausting.

Already sore and still healing from her little run in with a giant monkey not all that long ago, and now mentally taxed and not entirely thrilled to be dealing with those who refuse to leave… Bulma has decided that she will do her best, but those who insist are choosing their own fates. Of course, she knows there will be folks on the train who refuse to allow that to ride (possibly even those she knows) – and if she notices a fellow Voidtrecker struggling with a particularly stubborn person, or group of people, she’ll wait for a quite moment before butting her nose in to the situation.

“It’s a shame, but some people will never change their minds. And there may be regret there, in those few moments where they realize they were wrong, but in the end you’re not going to butt that wall down with your head.”

2 & 3: All Aboard

"Better they never see the planet than the planet be the last thing they see."

K'zeka can't say he's ever experienced exactly what the people of this planet are facing right now, and he doesn't think he'd be able to be calm at all if he was told to do the same thing. Was there a way to panic rationally? He likes to think so.

"Here's your craft," he says to the group he's been escorting, a pair of families, one with a child he's managed to calm down by letting her ride on his shoulders and play with his ears. "Safe travels!"

He has regrets, but doesn't show it until she and her family have left him with Bulma, wincing slightly as he taps on his tablet. "'Dragon balls'?"

Under a gathering storm- Blue 1, Hour 1

Outwardly, Leia was calm. She'd been a leader through too many crises to not know how to project calm and give at least the appearance of having everything under control. Inwardly, though? Inwardly she felt the growing, bone-deep sense of dread that would have told her disaster was imminent even if nothing else had.

But this would not be another Alderaan. Not another Hosnian Catastrophe. This time, they had some warning. This time, they had a chance. Maybe not to save everyone, but to save everyone that they could. And that would have to be enough.

Leia turned her skills as a leader and her ability to be surprisingly loud when needed towards directing people. "Those awaiting the next transport tram, form an orderly line here to my left," she called out. "Those who for whatever reason can't take a tram, line up to my right and we'll arrange alternate transport for you. And no, not wanting to wait for the tram doesn't mean that you can't take one. Crowding will only make things harder for those who truly need the additional help."

To the fellow Voidtrecker next to her, she said. "We have three transports on the way, each with a capacity of 120 people seated and 40 more standing. Can you get me a headcount, see how many more we're going to need? Infants and young children small enough to be held on their parents laps don't need to be counted for seated capacity, but they do for standing."

Braving the Weather- Hours 2 and 3- Blue and Purple

"I understand your concerns," Leia said to the worried farmer. "But you need to prioritize yourself and your family in this situation. We've shown you how the tethering process works; get your own and your family's tether secured, while we take care of your animals. We'll double check everyone's tethers before finalizing everything, but we need to start now."

As soon as she was certain the man understood, she left him to follow instructions as she turned back to her fellow voidtrecker and the underground barn full of farm creatures. She'd already forgotten what he'd called them, but they somewhat resembled banthas, just grayish-white and roughly the size of a pony. "Lucky we brought a whole crate of those collars," she said. "I'll keep the animals calm while you get them on, alright?"

Facing the wind- Hours 4 and 5, Offworld, Purple and Blue

"I understand how difficult this must be to believe," Leia said to the small crowd. Around 20 adults, and roughly 80 children from toddlers to teenagers. She only needed to convince about half of them to overcome inertia and get the rest to be likely to follow suit, but getting there was easier said than done, and she was glad to have a fellow Voidtrecker beside her. "But I assure you it's true. I can feel the threat bearing down on us as we speak, though I don't expect you to believe that. Whether or not you trust us or the Ministry, though, I urge you to trust Anan. She's not the sort of person who would sow needless panic or support unsubstantiated rumors on this scale." She glanced at her fellow Voidtrecker, hoping they'd continue on a similar thread, as it seemed likely to have a positive effect.

Braving the weather.

Allen looked at the collars for the moment before looking at what they had to put them on. It seemed pretty simple if he had to be honest.

"Do you think keeping them calm for long enough will actually work?" Considering Allen's abilities he can see it going wrong, more so since he is aware his bad luck is bubbling over a bit, but right now mostly in him tripping over or soemthing.

Hour One - Gathering - Purple 1

This is way too much. Too many people to try and rescue, but they'll have to do it somehow. Nozomi's powered up as Cure Dream, though she's using one of the speeders to race out to other communities. She has to try and save others, right? There's not much else she can do with everything falling apart.

Of course, many of these people are really suspicious at what's being told.

"I understand you don't trust all this. Neither do I myself, but if there's a chance this is true, we have to take it!" Nozomi said.

Hour 2 and 3 - Osiga Villages - Purple 2, Red 3, Blue 2

"WOAH! STOP! WAIT!"

Nozomi was told many of the people would be unwilling to come along, that they wouldn't believe what they were told of. She didn't expect to be attacked, though! The butterfly brooch on her costume held a nice scar from the knife that attempted to cut her.

"Ministry scum! Trying to steal our lands! Our livelihoods! I'll die before I let them take it away from me!" The man shouted, defiant.

"This isn't what you think it is!" Nozomi protested. "This is real, it will happen!"

"And you believe it just like that?! Naive child!" the man shouted.

Hours 4-5 - On Planet - Purple 3

"Please, only a few more things!" a storeowner begged, trying to gather as much of his stuff as possible.

"We're running out of time!" Nozomi replied. "If it's alright with you, maybe some of my friends and I can make sure others take some of these so that it won't be forgotten."

"...okay, I'm good with that." The storeowner said. "Just... I don't want to be forgotten. Not my work." It was an ironsmith shop and a cookery by the looks of it. Get some of the tools and recipes that couldn't be carried.

"Trust me, it won't." Nozomi replied. "C'mon, I'll help you on and go find others..."

Of course, there was still so much work to be done...

[Kairi frowned slightly at the person arguing with them. Arms crossed soon after. She understood why people might not be the most willing, but they had to try. That was how she saw it anyway.]

Sir, we have homes we would very much like to go home to ourselves, but we can't. Please understand that displacing people is not something we really would want to do unless absolutely necessary.

[She figured she would get argued back before before they had a chance she spoke up again.]

Besides there is no really reason to want to take peoples stuff as that just seems cruel.

Hour 1-Gathering-Blue

Once Lea had been to a particular part of the city, he could get there and back to the main tethering point faster than any train or transport. But his carrying capacity was seriously limited, due to the nature of the light corridors. Thus, he approached one of his fellow Voidtreckers for help. "Hey, can you find me some families or other small groups of people- about 12 max- who need to get to the tethering point fast or who are worried about not all getting on a transport together?", he said. "I can take one group at a time, but I have to go with them each time, so it'll save time compared to me having to find people myself between trips."

Hour 2 and 3-Osiga Villages- Blue, Purple

Lea wanted to comfort people, to say it would be OK. But he wasn't that big of a liar. Not any more. But he offered what reassurance he could nonetheless. Especially to kids, including a little girl who'd gotten separated from her parents somewhere in the confusion. "Hey now, don't cry," he said, carrying the kid, who couldn't have been more than five, back to where some of his fellow Voidtreckers were helping the other villagers get themselves and their animals squared away. "You're not gonna get left behind, I promise. We'll find your mom and dad and make sure you get tethered on the same transport, OK?"

When he finally reached the little gathering area he approached the first Voidtrecker he saw. "Hey, I've got a kid here who's lost her parents," he said. "Is there anyone here who's reported a missing little girl? She says her name's Aruna."

Hour 4 and 5-On planet- Blue, Purple

"No one's going to be left behind if we can help it," Lea assured the group for what felt like the thousandth time in the past few hours. Heck, maybe it was the thousandth; he'd lost count by now. He couldn't blame them, but at the same time, it was making the whole process take longer and time was rapidly ticking down to this world's doom.

He would freely admit that diplomacy wasn't his strong suit. He was here because of speed. He could transport people to the main staging area or supplies of tethering kits out to those rounding up stragglers faster than pretty much anyone else. But he couldn't do even that much if people didn't listen to him. He glanced over at one of his fellow Voidtreckers who was hopefully more diplomatic than himself. "Can you help me out here?"

Osiga Villages

At the sound of Lea’s voice, Rezo turns from the crate of equipment he’d been unloading and frowns slightly. Whoever this girl’s parents are, they presumably will be frantic, but unfortunately, Rezo hasn’t yet met any frantic parents.

“I’m afraid I’ve only just arrived myself,” Rezo admits. “But I could try making an announcement.” Raising his voice slightly, he first asks, “Aruna, can you tell me the names of your parents?”

(Rezo isn’t sure where Aruna herself is, so he faces Lea when he asks the question.)

Hour 1- Gathering- Purple

Bruno wondered if this was how his papi had felt, having to gather the people of his village and flee from invading soldiers. No, scratch that. He wondered if this was how Noah felt, trying to get people to board the Ark. 'The flood is coming! Everyone get on the boat!'

He seemed to be having about as much success as Noah had, and he sighed, running a hand down over his face in increasingly panicked frustration as another person refused to believe his assurances that the ministry's warnings were genuine. The terrible irony wasn't lost on him at all. "The one time it would actually be useful for people to believe everything I say is a prophesy of doom, and they don't," Bruno said to himself when the person he'd failed to convince was out of earshot. "Because of course they don't. Can't have my gift actually be helpful, can we?" Perhaps unfortunately for him though, he failed to check to see if anyone else was within earshot.

Hours 2 and 3- All Aboard- Orange

If Bruno had felt like Noah before, he really felt like it now, helping herd tethered animals aboard the craft designated for them. Except instead of two of every kind there were dozens, sometimes hundreds at a time. He was also beginning to understand why 'herding cats' was an expression as he tried to wrangle several pet felines who had somehow gotten out of their carriers back into them so they could be loaded aboard.

"Ai," he sighed. "Come on, gatitos, we don't have time for this! Literally!" At least he'd managed to keep them contained to the general area reserved for animal boarding; if they escaped into the crowd of people, the poor things could be trampled. But he was definitely going to need a hand if all these animals were going to get loaded in time.

Hours 4 and 5- On Planet- Blue, Purple

Alas Bruno had neither a loud voice nor a calm presence. But what he did have was a bunch of tethering kits and recently acquired knowledge of how to use them. Hopefully he got the chance to use them. He clutched the box containing the kits and managed to not hide behind the Voidtrecker nearest to him when they encountered a group of angry, frightened people who'd been making their way towards the grotto, thinking they wouldn't make it.

They were understandably panicked and angry. Bombarding him with questions faster than he could answer them. "That's not-", he began in answer to one man's accusation, only to be interrupted by another woman's frightened question. "We're trying to-" And another, someone demanding to know if the grotto had already been devoured by these 'world eaters'. "No, that's-" And so on. Bruno threw a somewhat desperate look to his nearby fellow Voidtrecker. Please help so they can... actually help?

Hour 1

Kitty sighs, not having much luck with convincing people of the impending danger either. Just as she's about to try again with some others, though, she can't help overhearing Bruno's words, and glances over at him curiously.

"What kind of gift?" she can't help asking. It might not exactly be the time for this, but if they had something that could help convince people...

Hour 1 - Gathering

Kitty thinks she is far too used to these kind of catastrophe missions than she really ought to be, but trying to deal with civilians in the midst of all of it something entirely different. Early on she helps direct people to for transport, trying to keep the crowd as orderly and as calm as possible.

Heading into the communities farther out, though, she tries to help convince those straggling behind of the emergency situation, with mostly mixed results.

She huffs a little as she is blown off by some people, and with a shake of her head she glances at the nearest fellow Voidtrecker. "This isn't working. What else can we do?"

Hours Two and Three - Osiga Villages

Fortunately Kitty has her own scouting drone, instead of having to use one of the ones provided, which meant and additional drone for scanning areas and searching for people who might need assistance with transportation.

The drone quickly makes its way through the area, and when she spots a fellow Voidtrecker she contacts them over the SCA, "Hey, I found another group that needs some help."

The Set Up - Hour 1

Despite the inevitable initial confusion of being dropped in this strange new location, Rezo follows the SCA direction and makes his way to the tethering station on the first floor. Following the sound of various snippets of conversation, he finds a ministry worker talking people through using the tethering equipment: “Excuse me,” he’ll interrupt, “May I join you?”

Once he’s gotten a handle on how the equipment works, Rezo heads out to work on crowd control. A colorfully dressed 6’3” guy with a calm, deep voice and a chiming staff catches attention, and it isn’t long before he’s busy directing evacuees into different lines, pointing them towards the trams and the tethering stations, and mostly, just playing the role of a confident, secure authority figure.

“Please do not fret. You have arrived in good time, but each individual must be processed one at a time. As long as you remain in order, then it will be simple and quick to tether each of you.”

The Thick of It - Hours 2-3

Rezo is, in fact, going to stay near the tethering stations for a while, especially as the crowds grow. It’s easy to overhear him offering the usual directions and reassurances, especially since he can use magic to project his voice over the anxious crowds.

Still, it seems people are needed everywhere, and as soon as things start to slow down around the tethering stations, he’s off; first, he can be seen patrolling the evacuation routes, drifting (quite literally, since he’s using a levitation spell) along the sides of the routes, making sure nothing is wrong. If he notices someone who seems lost or otherwise in trouble he’ll drift down and ask “Are you alright?”

Eventually, towards the end of the third hour as Irue Grotto starts to thin out, he’ll join the rest of the void trekkers into venturing out into the villages.

The Home Stretch - Hours 4-5

Thank the Gods the weather has been staying calm; unfortunately, the same thing cannot be said for the people as the hours tick by. Rezo is good at speaking calmly to emotional strangers, whether they’re angry villagers trying to shoo off ministry workers and void trekkers, or frightened people who think they’re being abandoned, and he intervenes with a few pithy, Great Sage-ly lines about the importance of trust and calm and so forth wherever seems appropriate.

Words don’t seem so feasible a strategy on one small group, however, who he overhears first, shouting out threats at someone and then, as he hurries in the direction of the noise, turns violent. There are the sounds of metal hitting metal, glass shattering. Gripping his staff, Rezo silently incants.

Give thee a rest…

For those who can see such things, a sparkling red mist surrounds the crowd briefly, then dissipates as the people within slump over, collapse to the ground, fast asleep. Rezo hurries to the side of the individual left standing.

“Please pardon my intrusion.”

"It's okay, dear." said the old woman, probably well into her eighties and slightly hunched, currently patting the hand of a very distressed looking Lunari standing just outside her home. "I know what it means if I stay, and I don't mind. There's nothing for me out there."

The woman looked calm, resigned; smiling even as she assured her. But Lioriley looked anything but calm. Her leylines were dull, the pulse of them slow and flickering like a light that was on the verge of burning out. But even those that could not see could tell from her voice ⁠— strained and trembling as it was ⁠— that she was either on the verge of tears, collapse, or both while she pleaded with the woman.

"Please ⁠— you must. I cannot just leave you here."

0. Narrative (No Replies)

It's fucking cold here. Even in the coat, it's cold. Wash takes a second or two to breathe, and try not to be bitter about missing his armor, and align his thoughts. That second or two is all he's going to have to spare for the next five hours, because-

Because this world is going to fucking die, and they have to evac as many people as they can before that happens.

The thought is colder than the temperature outside, sending ice spreading through his chest. Last time he worked an evacuation, it was Thay. That evacuation was the only successful part of that mission, and everything else - the time loops, the relic, his teammates who died-

Well. This isn't going to be like Thay.

Of course it isn't, says a sharp little voice in the back of his head. You went into Thay with hope. There's no hope here - you know this place is fucked.

...all the more reason to save everyone they can, then.

He pulls his coat a little tighter around him, Athena jumping up to his shoulder as he turns to head out. Time to get started.

1. Mid Range (Hour 2)

The main hub seems to be pretty well handled, so Wash has taken a pack and a speeder (and probably a few other voidtreckers, given how many that speeder seats) and headed to one of the further out villages. It doesn't take too long to get there, and once the speeder's parked he wastes no time. "Fan out and find people. Get them back here, or call for Thanatos to bring a transgate. Holler if anyone gives you trouble." It's short and to the point - there's no time to waste here.

With that, he's off - he might call on you to help him distribute SCAs to a family or group, or to round up farm animals. There's no shortage of people to help and things to take care of here.

Or, if you're visibly carrying an animal tethering collar, you may find a large gray cat at your feet, yelling to get your attention. Athena has found animals that need tethering - follow her!

2. Hard Mode (Hour 4)

The further out he goes, the worse things are. People are frightened and angry - that's to be expected, but it still makes life difficult.

Hitting a band of traveling people, angry at what they see as being left behind, is one thing, and he stops and opens his pack. "It'll be fine. I know it took us a while to get here, but we're not leaving until you're taken care of. I've got you covered." He sees you and waves you over. "C'mon, I could use a hand." Especially since these people are still angry - the more of them helping and the faster they work, the easier it'll be to calm them down.

Running into stubborn people is an entirely different matter - they're not always angry, but they're also not always willing to listen, and he's doing his best to approach it from whatever angle is needed. Sometimes it's convincing - "The void's not a bad place to be, I promise." - sometimes it's reassuring - "Of course you can take your cat with you; I have a tethering collar for her right here." - and sometimes it's distressingly sincere - "I've seen what happens when a world dies. I don't want you to be caught in that."

So he jogged over to Wash, a bundle of SCA's in hand, glad that there was someone able to organise and take charge.

Taiki had been trying, he's just not got a lot of presence. "I have some more SCA's here..."

Ryo | Mostly Blue/Purple

Osiga is going to die.

This isn't just some random world they've been dropped off on; this is a place they know. This is Anan's home. This is a world of welcoming people and festivals, of good humor and unnecessarily spicy food; this is where Ryo learned that he didn't need to fear the powers he'd gotten from his time on Diagad and instead embraced them to help people.

In a few hours, it will all be gone.

Ryo can't save the world itself, but he will damn well do everything in his power to save as many people as he can.

1. Organized (Hour 2)

There are a lot of people with more tech savviness than Ryo, and he's left the actual anchoring process to them; instead, he has a tablet with an ever-updating list and instructions to match people with their assigned voidcraft. He's got a fairly good idea of where each voidcraft is in the hangar by now, so it's a matter of finding someone's name on his tablet and pointing them in the right direction. He's currently trying to help a young woman leading half a dozen children, and trying to keep them all in one place is proving to be complicated.

Which is why he reaches out for you. "I need your help. Can you keep the kids busy, please?" It's something he'd normally do himself, but the clipboard job is a little more important.

2. Stragglers (Hour 4)

The easy part is long since over by the time stragglers arrive - groups that had been further out and made the long journey to the Irue Grotto. Ryo has relinquished his tablet to a Ministry employee and gone outside to try to help with calming people and bringing them in. "Yes, I know it was a long trip, you're almost there- yes, there's enough room- no, we won't leave without you-" He's trying to answer questions, but he's a bit swarmed - the time to get on top of this conversation came and went without him being able to take advantage of it, and now he needs help.

Allen had been trying his best to make sure people gathered and were going to the places they needed to go so when he was asked to keep the kids busy ALlen felt like that finally his time had come to be a lot more useful than he had been.

"Sure, I can do that." he said before going and getting out some juggling balls.

"Hey! While you wait and the kind sire here does his job I hope to entertain." That was at least enough to get the kids to focus on something at least as Allen soon started to juggle and keeping the kids occupied who stared on in amazement.

Allen was just glad that for once his canny ability to entertain comes in handy.

Esteban Drake | Purple Team, some Blue Team | OTA

Hour I - Gathering - Irue Grotto
Esteban won't ever pretend to be the smartest. He's a bit slow on the uptake, sometimes he can't see clues if they were about to smack him in the face. But he is resilient, and there is some strength to him, and the goodness to help people whomever they may be, and that means he's ready to carry whoever needs to be carried up a few flights of steps if there's need be.

He's not the strongest either, but he'll make do, as long as someone is there to guide him through-- Esteban loves getting lost, but their time is ticking, and he doesn't have the opportunity to meander again.

"Left or right?" He asks aloud, adjusting his hold onto the teenager with the sprained ligament currently hanging onto his back.

Hour II-III - The Irue Zoo - All creatures, big and small

The problem, Esteban figures, with being raised with wyverns and nightmares and dragons, is that teeth are not an immediate deterrent.

He struggles with the creature, pinning it down as best he can as it thrashes underneath him, snarling and growling as its tail whips across the scratchy sand-like enclosure. He has to keep a tight, sturdy hold on the blanket that covers its head to expose the neck, which means he doesn't have the hands to help put on the collar on the beast.

"I got it! It's safe-- quick!" he calls to whoever's nearby, because it's just a matter of time before the creature gets upset enough that even Esteban's weight and strength won't keep it down.

"Listen. Listen." His voice is surprisingly quiet as he calls to his companion, crouched in the few spots of underbrush that had been gathered for the creatures enrichment. Most of the small, winged-critters had already been gathered up, collared and placed in temporary shelters while they were being moved, but Esteban had insisted on staying back just a few more minutes.

There's a pathetic little mewl from somewhere nearby, the barest edge of a sound that is both panicked and tired. This is new. This, he does not know what it is, and according to the count, they should have all the critters from this enclosure. So what's making that sound?

Hour IV-V - The Right to Choose - Unnamed Hamlet
[OOC: Some pretty morally grey themes ahead, warnings will be in the titles if necessary.]

It's a tiny hamlet, flung to the very edges of civilization. The cold doesn't bite this far so much as it gnashes and gnaws at any piece of uncovered skin, leaving it raw and red in its wake. The houses are tightly packed at the very least, but it does mean that the villagers are nothing more than an extension of one another, a network sharing the same root beliefs.

"We're jus' tryin' to make you all safe!" Esteban struggles, holding the door as best ajar as he can. They're heavy, the frames reinforced, and whoever is behind it must work with their strength a lot. The door doesn't budge well, and the booming voice from within echoes over the snapping wind.

"We don't want your help, strangers. Go away. Let the winds and the cold take you all, and let us never see you here again!" It should be clear-cut. It should be the end of it.

But Esteban is who he is. And he can't not try.

V - [Warning: Mild kidnapping? The kids want to go, but their parents do not.]
This is it. They've done their best, they've tried as hard as they could. Maybe, maybe they can make it back to the station before time runs out, but it's a bit of a stretch. The hamlet is closed to them, their doors and windows barred, curtains pulled. There's been some sound of banging, as they've noticed even some residents boarding up the windows, as if they needed to protect themselves from the wind rather than the end of their world.

Maybe this is for the best. Whatever comes at this community, they'll stand by it together; be it nothing but a misreading... or the end coming for them. And that is it.

Or at least, that would be it, only there's a distinct bundle of warm clothing in the speeder that hadn't been there when they'd reached the hamlet, a bundle that has two pairs of eyes barely peeking through their heavy snow-- (sorry, wrong term)-- sors-goggles. One is distinctively the older of the pair, and the furrow between their brows is enough to motion that they are ready to fight for their spot here, if they must.

Hour Unknown - Wildcard!~

Hour I

Rezo isn’t entirely sure if the question is directed at him, but as he’s steering people around anyway, he gestures with his staff and speaks loudly. “The right- this way- if you’re taking the Kilconnan Flier, the left if you’re taking the Cornflower.”

He may not be able to see the paths he's indicating, but he did help set up the rope barriers that cordon off the two separate pathways, so he’s quite familiar with what goes where. But before he can let Esteban go, Rezo’s attention is caught by the odd sound of Esteban’s gait, as if he’s carrying something heavy and bulky, or…

“...Are you carrying someone?”

Thanatos | Red | OTA

Before reaching Osiga: MIA

[ Thanatos hasn't heard Otoha speak on comms or seen him. Normally, Otoha would also be helping act as point person for Red and giving them healing supplies. Thanatos has reached as many as he can, but something doesn't sit right with him. He checks the nearest ICP. ]

Blood and darkness....

[ Otoha's name on the roster has gone golden. A quick shift confirms his name on his cabin has done the same. The other point person will not be available for this mission. Mort gives a concerned squeak. ]

... I know. We'll have to do our best without him.

General: Transgate ( PURPLE 2, BLUE 3, ORANGE 3 )

[ One of the transgates has been set up in the station. He takes the other one with him to use as a mobile transportation point. Some of the areas he visits on his own are an hospital and the Irue Zoo, figuring they would need help there. However, he keeps moving and setting up his transgate for as long as it is needed. ]

Searching for more people in the Osiga Villages ( ORANGE 3; RED 2, 2-3; PURPLE 2, 2-3; BLUE 3 )

[ The outskirts are another location Thanatos visits. He can travel the distances, and he can scout ahead while leaving his transgate behind for the current batch of Osigan people to reach the station. At the moment, Thanatos is attempting to explain the situation and usher people to the station. ]

If you don't believe me or wish to stay or attempt to fight, that is your decision. All I ask is that you do not interfere with those who wish to enter the Void.

[ One man holds what looks to be a bent pipe and begins to walk towards Thanatos. Mort launches a volley of angry squeaks. With a quick flourish, Thanatos summons his scythe and points it at the man. ]

Stop. I will cut your thread if you attempt to attack. There is no time for this.

Searching for the goddess Neran [spoilers: she doesn't exist] ( ORANGE 3; RED 2; PURPLE 2; BLUE 3 )

[ Amid all the is chaos, Thanatos remembers Neran, the goddess who gets trapped and breaks free from the darkness. So, as he brings people place to place and sets up transgates to move people around, he asks about her.

She was tired as she stared at the door that had been slammed in her face, locked, and sealed the fate of those inside. Her eyes turned to the sky - deceptively beautiful and unassuming. )

The Zoo

Of course Lan Wangji is going to be focused on saving the animals. He has helped with the people as well, but once he heard there was a zoo that needed help he was on his way immediately.

The smaller animals he gathers into his arms and very carefully adds the collars that have been given. He doesn't want to deal with the chip guns. Those he doesn't understand and is afraid it might cause them harm. Luckily most of the animals he has been dealing with can fit the collars.

He lets another of the little creatures go as he finishes attaching and watches as someone else guides it to where it needs to be for transport. He stands up and turns to whomever has joined him. "Which one is next?"

He's been very busy helping tether as many people as possible but he had heard that there was lots of animals in the zoo that needed rescuing too. So he had gone to help and currently had a bag of collars and one of the tablets that a ministry worker had shown him how to use.

"There's an enclosure of... I think they are monkeys but they are bright purple sir!" Romeo had the list up on his tablet so he skipped over to Lan Wangji at his question.

"I think they are next."

...sometimes mind control has its uses, okay.

Its hard to convince people of things with words and outright manhandling them isn't the most ideal way to handle things either. So while overshadowing is kind of questionable, it IS a lot easier to peg someone as being the dominant voice amongst a difficult group, take over, and change their tune to convince everyone to go where they're supposed to.

Which she might be doing on her own and people just might see a Very Confused Person at the station with their group insisting they told them to come, and Razzy can be seen now too far from them. Or maybe the Voidtrecker is having a hard time with a group, and suddenly the leader is being A Lot More Personable and agreeing.

Zoo
If there's one thing Razzy's got, its good aim. And a bird's eye view. She's moving quick over the zoo, taking shots at the tinier animals and will be calling the locations out of others to anyone nearby.

Villages
There's transport to get to the general area, and from there, Razzy can fly out pretty fast from place to place with kits. She can also bring others along, the beauty of speed and strength. She's looking to head to the bigger farms as is, since the homes are probably farther from others, and the most who need to get tethered.

The Right To Choose
She's probably not alone when she came to this out of the way home. Unfortunately, the people are stubbornly refusing to go, wishing to stay on their planet and Razzy...

Perhaps doesn't handle it with the same calm as other things.

"Are you kidding me?! Don't act like its so easy to choose oblivion! You have no idea what its like!"

She might have some experience and she doesn't wish it on others, okay.

Let it go. It's one thing if they're just being stupid, but some people are just determined to go down with their Titan. It's not exactly easy to choose to abandon the only home you've ever known, either.

Gathering
Shadow can move fairly fast on his own. Moving from shadow to shadow to shadow cane make it pretty easy to cross a great distance, while watching for any irregularities that say the movement of people is nearby.

He flashes the badge, replays the message, and gets people on their way and helps those who need it.

Until people give him trouble. And. He can be quite persuasive, though if that's a good thing is questionable. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. Its such a big thing, after all, big things never happen to ya, so it can't be happening. No, no, all things that have happened, ya've always been able to do something about, and this behavior definitely isn't about how yer terrified of admitting something totally out of yer control is happening and yer terrified."

....he's not always kind.

Zoo
He can shoot the smaller ones, but he chooses to go for the bigger, more dangerous animals. Namely in the fact its easier to for him to move in shadows and launching from a large beasts shadow to tether them is easier then flying around and shooting at a distance.

It also lets him keep an eye out on others to make sure they're not in danger.

On Planet
Shadow heads out to the edges of society. If nothing else, he can bend up something to hold up a lot more kits then most, keep them in shadows to pull out and use. He's also very good at keeping calm and being very loud.

Mostly because his investment in helping people isn't as altruistic as most, but he's still determined to do the job right. And, well, if someone really doesn't seem like they can't be convinced, he finds it easy to just move on and do what he can.

There's another nearby, but probably not someone that he knows well. If anything, the half-elf seems completely oblivious to the fact that he's not the only one currently leaping back from an angry large predator and blabbering, like maybe the animal can understand him.

"Yeah, tell me how it's not y'r greatest day." There's a tiny bit of grouchiness at his tone, as he dodges back from a claw swipe, a towel thrown over his shoulder while he keeps on avoiding the creature's massive bulk. Clearly, he's trying to flank it, get onto its back and cover its eyes, but he must have missed his first shot, because the giant is not having any of it. He could clearly use a hand here!

HOUR ONE - Proposals (Purple, blue 1, closed to Koumyou)
It's selfish, but Devero (and Koumyou) have one thing they've agreed to see to immediately upon landing: making sure that the lovely Osigan native who'd hosted Devero's proposal during the festival gets out safely. Grasping Koumyou's hand in his, Devero hits the pavement practically at a run, heading directly out towards the neighborhood in question.

HOUR TWO - Remote collaring at the zoo (Blue 2)
Here's something that those working at the zoo hadn't considered: how to get collars on those fauna too big and too dangerous for strangers to approach. It's one thing to pin a turkey-sized bird under your arm or shoot a lizard with a chip, and another entirely to collar something with teeth as long as your hand that the informational sign describes as 'EXTREMELY TERRITORIAL'.

Thankfully, Devero's got just the thing for this. "Let me," he says to the person who's visibly gearing up to wade into the predator's enclosure. From a large pocket on his pants he produces a drone about the size of a hockey puck. The drone extends a pair of graspers and accepts a tethering collar from Devero; then, with a gesture of his hand, it zips past the fencing and in among the rocks.

Once he's located the animal, Devero gestures again, and a glowing purple recreation of himself materializes, with the drone as its nucleus. The hologram inside mimics the gestures Devero makes outside, approaching the wary animal with the collar in his/its hands. The creature crouches and growls, its tiny ears pinned back, but it's not until Devero awkwardly tries to reassure it-- the drone broadcasting his voice-- that it leaps to attack.

The hologram flickers and glitches with the impact, but doesn't dissipate. Devero shadowboxes with the creature for a moment before he manages to secure the collar on it. As soon as he's sure it'll hold, he cuts the holo and shoots the drone straight up and out of the pen. He's breathing a little hard as he catches the drone in one hand and pushes his tac visor up with the other.

"Nothing to it," he says. "Now-- who wants one? I have more of these I can lend out, and the gear you'll need to work them."

HOURS THREE AND FOUR - Out in the villages (Orange 3, Purple 2, 3)
Once he's sure the zoo will be taken care of, Devero heads out to the villages. He hops off the speeder accompanied by machines: Claudette the sparring bot has a trunk full of SCAs and other Ministry equipment strapped to her back; Sir Beepers is huddled down in cam mode and floating just over his shoulder; from a pocket emerge his holo-drone and two little micro drones left behind when Rin-- Murderbot-- had disembarked from the train.

He sends the drones out scanning for people, directing his fellow Voidtreckers to family homes and village halls and farming domes. Claudette bounds from person to person, tilting the trunk on her back so people can take SCAs or collars for their animals. Sir Beepers distracts and entertains fretful children while their parents solemnly strap SCAs on their wrists. Devero monitors it all from his visor, keeping things moving with brisk efficiency.

And as soon as one village is taken care of, he's bounding back to the nearest speeder, holding out a hand to the nearest Voidtrecker as his little swarm of machines piles in after him.

"C'mon, on to the next one!" he calls out encouragingly.

HOUR FIVE - Choices made (Red 3)
They are running out of time. Devero has pinned the countdown in the corner of his visor, a constant and flashing reminder of the stakes. Their goal is to save lives-- as many lives as possible.

But the people who were eager to leave are gone. Those who remain are... difficult. And the farther out from the Grotto they get, the more difficult the citizens become.

Devero could swear he feels it, the moment that the Osigan that his fellow Voidtrecker is imploring moves from stubbornness to anger. Devero glides in like he's following the steps of a dance, catching a wrist before the punch can connect and twisting the arm up behind the offender. "That's enough!" he bellows. His catches the other Voidtrecker's eye and jerks his head towards the exit from this particular village hall. "We're done here," he says, to his people and to the Osigans both. "These folks have made their choice."

And if their choice is to stay and die, well, so be it. It's still their choice to make.

These machines really were useful, able to carry more SCAs and get to more people than they could get to just on their own. It was cutting down time, which was important because time was something they did not have enough of. Not at all.

She took his hand, letting him pull her up to the speeder and strapping herself in. She's not stopped, none of them have and the endless countdown on her SCA isn't helping. Failing this mission would be all too easy and the stakes are high.

She wakes up the tablet that the ministry have given them, pulling up a map. "The next one do no be being too far away. You do be needing to be heading east."

With the others Elidibus arrives, does what's needed to check in with the Ministry's agents and heads out. His destination is for far reaches if anyone cares to ask, hunting for any remote, hole in the wall groups. Particularly places where transport would take the longest to get to. Get out, do what one can to convince people to depart.

People are able to catch him, ask about going with. Though if they do, they'll be warned at some point he'll be using his particular method of teleportation which while safe, has been known to alarm a few of the Voidtreckers. But he won't outright deny company; at least one he expects to cross paths with at some point or another during the evacuation.

I One - On the Way Out

It doesn't begin with teleportation or fancy magic. Elidibus gets a transport on the ride out to some of the furthest pickup locations. Maybe you were tagging along with him. Or just on the same ride with a different destination in mind. Ask him his business. While he remains quiet and often seems to be in thought or looking over the gear provided by the Void Ministry, he'll focus on the speaker.

Though he might have posed a question of his own.

"What approach do you plan to take?"

II Two and Three


a. It's a Peaceful Day.

The places the Ascian is traveling to are as chilly as any place on Osiga. But it's a nice day and this far from the Grotto, it would be easy, far too easy to believe there is nothing wrong. People will be harder to convinced, more determined to stay. And possibly on the rougher side when it comes to rejecting offers. Fortunately Elidibus has experience in convincing people and in living as these people now must. A wide array of spells; particularly those dealing with binding and teleportation. And the ability to defend himself when it gets 'rough'.

He won't possess anyone. He's perfectly capable of simply writing off those too stubborn for their own good. Yet he seems reluctant to do the latter either. Every trick in the book, from manipulation to outright lies coated in tempting half or whole truths. If need be, to subtly lead adults into circumstances where it was perfectly 'in his rights' to bind them and force a teleportation of them (and probably a less forceful transfer of their children) to waiting Void Ministry officials.

Beasts weren't given option. Lest there was something that would interfere with the ancient sorcerer, Elidibus would simply bind them, give them the SCAs and send them to where they needed to be; cages or otherwise. It doesn't mean everything goes smoothly but he can at least improve the numbers of what's rescued in the end and accessibility on what can be reached.

Find him at any of these tasks or he might encounter you at one of yours.


b. Portals.

Little by little portals are being established. Gates spelled so they'll close once Elidibus disappears from Osiga. They go between a number of locales; largely from outlying areas; people can travel both to and from rather than wait for the transports. This method only takes moments... as long as you're willing to brave the shadowy aperture with billowing purple and blue tendrils. Void Ministry and Voidtreckers alike are welcome to make use of them. They may even find Elidibus on the side opposite from the Grotto, maintaining order for those willing to brave this unknown. At those moments if approached, he would ask a basic question.

"Did you need something?"


III Four and Five

a. ---

Some may be wondering, given what they know or have sensed of Elidibus's condition; how is he suddenly operating on the scale he's displayed in the past few hours. Somehow he has completely recovered. And even by hour four, the Ascian appear to be slowing down in his efforts. Were there anything to say, it'd be that the man seems driven to his tasks. The world can't be saved. The people, the life... they must. As many as possible.

A repayment to Osiga for what he's taking from it. And maybe mixed in is a revival of a base instinct. One literally written into him so strongly that it sustained his existence even when he'd forgotten nearly everything else regarding the why.


b. fin

He either stopped himself or someone had helped him. Maybe a bit of both. But near the end, he'll stop. The portals will last until he's evacuated; everyone native to the world that he'd reached out to would know once they disappeared it was too late; it was simple as that.

Elidibus waits to observe what he can, his senses cast out to watch for the signs of these world eater's arrival and see it for the first time. He does trust the train to remove him before he could die. Would there be anyone else that wants to watch the coming of the end though?

III. A.

Emet-Selch is no fool, and he can feel the use of power. It should not concern him, really, given all that he knows of the missions and this world, but it doesn't necessarily please him to make note of it given how weak Elidibus had been at their first meeting. He knows this man even if he might not remember all of himself, and thus he has some measure of concern that ought to be dealt with.

It strikes as familiar, and that is what makes him overly prepared to step in, should there be a need for it.

He approaches carefully, moving to walk up and stand by Elidibus' side, his arms crossed as he stares out at the world before them. It means very little to him, of course, new to the train as he remains, but it is clear from the reactions of others that this is something that holds memories, or some meaning. He simply doesn't care to ask.

He waits, standing, for Elidibus to say something - to fill in the gaps of silence with excuses or explanation, whichever he best prefers.

Ryou Bakura | Blue Team | OTA

1. Hour One

[Ryou is, frankly, in over his head on this one. He's been a bit over his head on a lot of things with the train, but this is A Lot.

Still, he'll do his best to help get the people of the Irue Grotto to the tethering station, trying to keep calm for the residents while explaining the need to evacuate.

Right now he's trying to explain the threat to a skeptical resident, though with the clear skies it's...not going so well. Whoever's with him might have to chip in on the convincing.]

2. Hours Four-Five

[With time running out and the remaining residents now mostly further out, Ryou's moved onto helping distribute SCAs to a more distant community that won't be able to get to the station in time. It's going decently smoothly, though the comatose bodies left behind from the tethering process is making him a bit uneasy.

If questioned about it, he'll try to shake it off, say he's fine, focus on the goal of saving the people of Osiga, but it is something that is getting to him.]

Hours Four and Five
