Day 11 Catfish - everybody else!
Evacuation
Once Rath and Voidtrecker volunteers go off to Blue Mountain the rest of the scientists get ready for the final evacuation off planet.
Earthquakes are regular enough now that it seems strange when the earth is not shaking. It makes it difficult to pack the last of the equipment, get the final lindusi into their containers and start boarding the shuttles.
They need help everywhere, people to ride with the lindusi, others to keep the evacuees calm. Others to carry equipment and load shuttles. People to keep children occupied and out of the way. Slowly but surely the shuttles are loaded and the journey begins.
Space Station
There are scientists and guards waiting at the space station to help unload, lindusi need unloading and taken to containing pens. People need reunited with those that evacuated before them and registered, in an attempt to make sure everyone is accounted for.
The Voidtreckers may do what they like once the work is done, a time to relax after a job well done. Or to fret about those who are still on the planet.
In the control room there is an attempt to keep radio contact with the group on the ground, but as the planet destabilises more it gets more difficult. Signs show that the planet has mere hours before it can not sustain human life anymore.
But the scientists seem to have some faith that these void warriors are up for the job.

"Not until everything is done, my friend."
no subject
"I think we're pretty close to being so."
He's clearly tired, bags under his eyes, and he moves stiffly, as if hiding bruises and sore muscles, or maybe worse. But his smile is as bright as ever, Poker Face holding true.
"And I think Curufin-san'll be really cross with me if I don't make sure you leave rather than wait!"
no subject
Maglor frowns though, seeing that stiffness and clear exhaustion. But the reminder that he's not alone, that he has family here has him finally hesitate, looking away, off toward where his younger brother and father had gone.
"I will leave. But not yet."
no subject
"Your dad went off that way too huh?" He saw that look.
"Well, I can wait with you then."
no subject
He looks back to Kaito and wryly shakes his head before encouraging the youth to at least sit. "You would be welcome, but it is not necessary."
no subject
"Who's Nelyo?" He asks curiously.
"Curufin-san is a friend." He shakes his head. "I don't want you to wait alone." Also he figures Maglor is more likely to get on a shuttle if there's someone else there.
no subject
...Ok. He's just. Gonna reach out to try and ruffle the youth's hair. "Thank you for being his friend." His little brother needs all the friends he can get!
no subject
He squawks at the ruffle - it's not like his hair can get any worse.
"He seems cool."
no subject
Maglor smirks fondly at the expected squawk.
"He has his moments." Because brothers. But he's glad Curufin is back to how he'd been, mostly, before the Oath's madness overtook him.
no subject
"Oh! Yes I remember now. He said something about that when I was trying to learn his name. You have weird names."
For a Japanese tongue!
"I don't have any siblings myself so I wouldn't know!"
no subject
"I have six, all said. And some cousins who are close enough they may as well be siblings." Despite Feanor's intense dislike of said cousins' parents...
no subject
"Big family, huh. Is that common where you are? Japanese people tend to smaller families these days."
no subject
no subject
"Japan's like that too. These days, most people have one or two... or even none. But we used to have bigger families. Before birth control and all that."
no subject
That last bit has the elf blinking over at him in clear confusion. And maybe a bit repulsed, but he's trying to keep that toned down.
"What is the...purpose of controlling the size of family?"
