Let it Snow: Purple Start

"We are now approaching world#58291. Purple team to doors." As the last flurry of activity occurs the voice speaks again. "Warning: Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." the usual jerk, shudder lurch as the colours from the window turn from the void to a white haze of snow.

The doors open for purple team to alight. It is a scramble down from the train, there is no platform here and the ground below them is a sheet of ice.

They seem to be in a town, ice below them, snow drifts piled high. They can see the mountains in the distance and high above the down there is what seems to be a giant ice block floating in the sky.

But for their more immediate attention there are snow creatures. Snowmen, oddly formed snow animals. Eight foot tall creatures made of ice. Some seem intent on throwing snowballs at cars and the buildings of the town but it is not long before the team are spotted and the creatures make their way to them.

This is their battleground. They may find things they can use as weapons in the town itself and their job is to ensure there is still a town when all of this is over. It’s going to be a hard and very cold few days.

[Arrival:]

Cal Kestis wasn't, by nature, clumsy. He was actually pretty graceful and capable, and knew how to move without crashing into stuff. But today, the universe was conspiring against the Jedi Knight and when he jumped out of the train, he hit a bad patch of ice.

A rough patch. One that was deceptive and had him thinking he'd land just fine.

He doesn't. Not entirely. He slips and slides a bit, coming incredibly close to falling and then steadies himself, hands out and knees bent some to maintain balance.

Beedee lands on his shoulder a moment later, almost knocking Cal over, the droid hunching and beeping apologetically.

"Yep. Just like Ilum. Be careful, Beedee."

[Fighting: ]

This was more like it. Kind of. He was at least used to this kind of thing. He'd spent so long training as a Padawan, and the last few weeks before arriving here had been spent fighting Storm Troopers and other such Imperial nuisances, not to mention the variety of creatures out to get him on the various planets he went to.

Needless to say, Cal Kestis had plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

Lacking his lightsaber, Cal still made due with what was around. He used the Force on some of the smaller monsters, shoving them into each other to shatter them or putting them in a type of slowed state to give people time to get away before he used what was nearby to further create problems for the monsters.

It's when he spots one of his teammates, unaware of a monster nearby that Cal speed-runs to put himself between a teammate and trouble, Force shoving a small set of creatures away, shattering them entirely.

To his teammate, he has a question. "You good?" roughly about the same time as Beedee beeps out the same question in his own language.

Fighting

Bucky’d had his hands full, facing off with a trio of snow creatures and unable to watch his own back. Battlefields were chaos and he didn’t have a choice about trusting his team. He was more than a little relieved to find them to be sufficiently competent.

“Yeah, thanks,” he replies, as he shakes what looks like a snow badger off his metal arm and kicks it into dust. It frees him up enough he can dispatch the other two with ease. “That’s a neat parlor trick,” he flashes says, slightly breathless as he leans over to retrieve the hockey stick he’d dropped, giving it a couple of swings to make sure it’s not broken.

"No problem." Cal says, ignoring the comment about the parlor trick. Not because it bothered him any, but because there are a couple more of those snow badgers coming. They look pissed off, dismayed that their friend is gone.

There's a broken metal pole nearby, nothing too big. Roughly the size of the hockey stick Bucky has. Cal is missing his lightsaber and he thinks that metal pole will make for an interesting substitute.

Reaching out with the Force, he pulls it over to himself and gives it a test spin before using it against a couple of the snow creatures with decent success.

Beedee hops off his shoulder, running to one of the smaller ice badgers and jumping on it's shoulders. It's not enough to dust it, like Bucky did, but it does look like the badger isn't having it. A few attempts to shake Beedee off are met with Beedee just holding on tighter, finally steering the thing into the wheel of an abandoned car and shattering enough of it that Beedee can make short work of destroying the rest, stomping on it and headbutting it until it's gone.

"So, this is what life is gonna be like for us on the train?" Cal isn't too phased by this.

"Guess so," Bucky agrees, finally turning to look at Cal and his little droid friend, offering a hint of a smile at them. "Would've preferred less fighting, but I guess it's better than being in prison," he turns slowly, scanning the area to make sure nothing is sneaking up on them.

The coast is clear, for now, so he skates over to the nearest building and leans against it. "Seems like you're used to fighting. Are you a soldier, too?"

Arrival

It was a reaction for Ash to reach out and steady Cal after the droid came down on his shoulder, strong arm gripping him until he regained himself and was steady on his own. She pulled back and shifted the weight of her pack.

"My apologies, it's a bit of a habit. The guys from home sometimes didn't see patches of ice. Is Ilum where you're from?"

"No, it's fine. I appreciate it," he says, straightening his own pack and directing Beedee to cling to that and not him, to help them balance on the ice.

"I'm from a planet called Bracca. Ilum is somewhere I visited a time or two. It's ice everywhere. Stunning. Kinda treacherous." He loves it.
