Let it Snow: Purple Start
"We are now approaching world#58291. Purple team to doors." As the last flurry of activity occurs the voice speaks again. "Warning: Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." the usual jerk, shudder lurch as the colours from the window turn from the void to a white haze of snow.
The doors open for purple team to alight. It is a scramble down from the train, there is no platform here and the ground below them is a sheet of ice.
They seem to be in a town, ice below them, snow drifts piled high. They can see the mountains in the distance and high above the down there is what seems to be a giant ice block floating in the sky.
But for their more immediate attention there are snow creatures. Snowmen, oddly formed snow animals. Eight foot tall creatures made of ice. Some seem intent on throwing snowballs at cars and the buildings of the town but it is not long before the team are spotted and the creatures make their way to them.
This is their battleground. They may find things they can use as weapons in the town itself and their job is to ensure there is still a town when all of this is over. It’s going to be a hard and very cold few days.

"Alright, give me a moment.."
He raises the spade, only to then slam it down and drill straight into the ice. Inigo may not be superpowered, but he's trained enough to be at above average strength for a young man his age, so he actually does manage to break through the ice and hit the arm with a clang. And from there it's easy to chip off quite a bit of the ice.
"There, can you move it now?"
no subject
It's not nearly as strong or durable as the other one, but it should be simple for him to slide out once it's free. "Thanks," he says between punches. "That shovel really came in handy, huh?" he flashes as much of a smile as he can manage.
no subject
But at least it's a relief to see the man free himself. That's one problem down. Even if there's still a lot to go.
"I suppose improvisational tools have their advantages." He smiles back at Bucky, and Inigo's seems surprisingly wide and genuine for the circumstances. It's almost as if the boy can't feel the cold or exhaustion. "Where did all that ice come from anyway? Did you get one of those big ones?"
no subject
He nods in reply to the question, dusting himself off a bit. "Yeah, I saw one coming so I got up on a roof, used my elbow to smash its head open," he taps his metal elbow, but half a second later falls into a defensive stance. "Incoming," he warns, just as a snow beast pounces on him, held off from harming him with his arm, his flesh hand punching at it -- his hockey stick had broken just before his ascent so he was, for the moment, without any improvised weapons. "How are you not even a little bit winded?" he asks, as he punches the snow-creature. Again.
no subject
"Experience," he says, even with the moment of surprise hardly missing a beat. Apparently the snowbeast is dazed enough by the punches that Inigo is able to beat it straight off Bucky with a well-aimed shovel strike.
(Also it's definitely not as much experience as much as it's just being really good at acting, but shhh. No one has to know.)
"Let's just say I've fought some things before that didn't seem to know when to stop."
no subject
"You sure you're okay?" he asks, carefully crossing the pile of ice, until he's standing next to the young man, and even leans his flesh arm on the kid's shoulder, leaning on him just the tiniest bit. Either he was tired, or he was trying to be sure that Inigo was really doing as well as he claimed.

And while Inigo does mostly seem okay - he doesn't seem to have any real noticable wounds or anything - Bucky might be able to tell through his flesh arm on Inigo's shoulder that Inigo's body does seem a lot more tense than his lackadaisy attitude would indicate. Like he's starting to strain himself after having fought for quite some time already now.

He's not used to socializing with normal people, but he's trying. "Maybe we should see if any of these houses are unlocked, sit down for a few minutes. get something to drink maybe," hopefully none of the water pipes in the houses had burst from the cold.
no subject
The latter wins after a moment. Bucky has seemed really cool so far, and Inigo doesn't want to mess this up - especially since that's what usually happens. So he slowly nods.
"I suppose a few moments can't hurt, if you insist. Although I'm not too sure if there's anything to drink around here that isn't frozen.."

He pulls open the fridge door and to his delight finds that it has indeed insulated its contents from the weather outside. "Have you ever had a soda?" he calls out.
no subject
He makes a bit of a face when he knocks on the food. Completely frozen solid. You'd have to thaw that out.
Thankfully his disappointment about the food is quickly fading by the distracting Bucky speaking up provides.
"Hm?" He leaves the food, wandering over to the man with a curious look on his face. "Soda? No, I'm afraid I have never even heard that word before."
no subject
He pokes his head back into the fridge, emerging with a block of cheese just. Hanging out of his mouth. Like a goddamn savage. He's also got some other food items -- pickles, deli meat, more cheeses, everything you need for a sandwich but the bread.

mantoothhandled like that. He's busy staring at the can, trying to look into it, but then just deciding that if Bucky says it's alright, it's probably alright enough to drink. So he does. And even after taking the smallest sip, he just.. looks baffled. He stares from the can to Bucky, holding his cheek with his free hand.
"This.. This is magical!"
It's like a kid on Christmas morning, really. Except an oversized one.

It takes him a couple seconds to swallow his bite. "I'm glad you like it," he replies warmly. He goes back in to get a second can for himself, cracking it open and taking a long drink. "And it's full of sugar, so it should give you a little bit of an energy boost, too."
no subject
For now he seems blissfully unaware to any potential consequences though. He's mostly still just marveling over this whole new world of drinks the other has introduced him to. "It's really good!" And unlike anything he's ever had before. His eyes almost sparkle when he looks at Bucky. "Is this kind of drink normal where you come from? You can just drink it whenever?"
no subject
He chuckles warmly at the reaction. "They're really common, yeah, but they're also really bad for you if you drink them too often," he cautions, because it's clear that he's very possibly just made a mistake. "It's like liquid candy, so you should treat it like a dessert," or something for special occasions, like surviving your first snow-beast fight.
He rolls some cheese and meat together, and offers it to Inigo, before making a similar roll for himself. "Eat up, you don't want to run out of energy mid-fight."
no subject
"No need to worry about that." He smiles, clearly cheered up much more genuine by the food and drinks. (And the company too, honestly.) He starts heartily munching away at the food as he stuffs it into his mouth, speaking up again before he's fully chewed and swallowed it all. "I've got eneby bwor ten!"
no subject
He doesn't know it yet, but Bucky has created a monster. And probably started another fight with Tony, too.
Bucky shakes his head a little as he finishes his bite. "Don't talk with your mouth full," the scolding doesn't have any venom to it. "I can't understand what you're saying, so unless it's an emergency..." like a snow-beast sneaking into the house and coming up behind him or something. He can't even be mad, though, because Inigo is just so happy. Bucky's going to have a real hard time telling him no about anything.
no subject
"It's just called being efficient!" This time without any food in his mouth. See, he can be good. "We have to hurry up and go back out there to take out more of those things, after all."
He quickly eats and swallows a bite - almost without chewing - between sentences.
"You seem so amazing when you fight, they really need you out there, I'm sure."
no subject
Bucky can't help it, he laughs warmly at Inigo's reaction. "We'll pull our weight," he assures. "But we're no good to anyone if we get exhausted or injured. Grabbing a quick rest and meal is important," he replies easily, ignoring the praise as he cuts off a hunk of cheese from the block he'd carried in his teeth and hands it over, too. He goes to a nearby bookshelf, pulling out a notebook and flipping it open, writing a quick note for the family who lived there, hoping the people would be able to read it. Just a quick 'sorry we stole your food'.
Then he goes back to eating his share of the meat and cheese, making quick work of it. "I'm going to use their bathroom. Hopefully the pipes aren't frozen..." he heads down a hallway, looking for the bathroom.
