Let it Snow: Purple Start

"We are now approaching world#58291. Purple team to doors." As the last flurry of activity occurs the voice speaks again. "Warning: Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." the usual jerk, shudder lurch as the colours from the window turn from the void to a white haze of snow.

The doors open for purple team to alight. It is a scramble down from the train, there is no platform here and the ground below them is a sheet of ice.

They seem to be in a town, ice below them, snow drifts piled high. They can see the mountains in the distance and high above the down there is what seems to be a giant ice block floating in the sky.

But for their more immediate attention there are snow creatures. Snowmen, oddly formed snow animals. Eight foot tall creatures made of ice. Some seem intent on throwing snowballs at cars and the buildings of the town but it is not long before the team are spotted and the creatures make their way to them.

This is their battleground. They may find things they can use as weapons in the town itself and their job is to ensure there is still a town when all of this is over. It’s going to be a hard and very cold few days.

"Cú Chulainn—" he returns the name. No response to the nickname was almost given, but he thought he'd better try. Not every day you see someone with a silver arm like that. "I think I found most of what I was sent here for. Canned food, some additional blankets... but if you know where to find something to burn that could be useful."

Could, but it's not as necessary. And it's slowly getting dark, which means— colder. And more dangerous, both outside and inside the tunnels.

Bucky nods, gestures down the opposite ally from where he'd dealt with the snow beast. "There's a house with a wood pile a couple blocks down. And a wheelbarrel, if you want it." He'd figured out that guessing how strong people were based on looks wasn't going to be all that effective here. "I can help carry some if the path back out is straightforward," but he didn't want to end up lost in the tunnels.

Caster looks at the sky and then back to Bucky. If they're too slow the night will catch them, and while— being what he is, he doesn't have to worry about cold too much. But he imagines it's not the case for his new helper

"If you're carrying them, can you cover my six?" It's just an inquiry meant to gauge how confident Bucky feels about jumping from supplies cargo'ing to straight battle. He looks like a seasoned warrior to the Celt's eyes, but part of him still prefers having clearly appointed roles.

Bucky nods without hesitation. "I might have to drop them if anything shows up, but yeah, I can manage that," and it was better to keep moving when it was this cold out. Helped him keep his mind of the feeling of cold creeping into his skin and muscle and bone and... nope. Not thinking of that.

Caster believes in honesty, if this is how this man assesses his skill he has no reason to disbelieve him.

"Very well, let's go and get that wheelbarrow, Silver-Arm. That could help a lot on another round" Because he has little doubt that someone will be going back here for more supplies sooner or later. Couple blocks down don't sound as too far after all.

Bucky nods, and takes off at a trot to lead Caster towards to the house in question. It is indeed pretty close, and when they arrive Bucky wastes no time in fetching the wheelbarrow and bringing it over to the wood pile to load it up as high as Caster's comfortable with.
