Let it Snow: Red Start

The doors slam shut, the train moves. Through the snow this time but the shuddering is almost worse that entering the void. "Red team to doors." The visibility out of the window is low but they are moving further up the mountain.

The doors open, allowing red team to jump. The snow here is thick, there is little protection from the howling winds and biting cold.

Their SCA shows a route, following it will, presumably lead them to the gang that caused these problems. Here on the low slopes of the mountain there are some homesteads. Much fewer than in the town itself but cottages and small farm houses. All seem abandoned.

For now there is not much to do but to walk, forge a path through the snow. Fight the snow and ice monsters that attack and do their best to survive as they follow the map towards their goal.

"This is the price you must pay for having so many headstrong sons." he pulls up his hood and flexes the fingers of his sword hand to keep his fingers limber.

"My brave sons!" She smiles and reaches up to kiss his cheek.

"Brave and very good to their mama."

He flushes and wraps an arm around her, tucking her partially under his cloak too.

"We were blessed with you and that blessing continues. I did not think I would see you again, Ammë."

Her smile falters.

"I know." She says softly. "When all this is over, I would you come home, my Maitimo."

"Swiftly. Gladly." he kisses her forehead, "If it is within my abilities, you will see me."

She cups his cheek.

"I believe you, my dear."

Maedhros leans into her hand and forgets the cold for a few moments.

"I will come with my brothers in tow. We will be released from the Halls as one."

[marriedanidiot]

She would wrap him up in blankets, if she thought it would help.

"My, you will overwhelm me!"
